My fathers caregiver Jeannie Taylor has been a blessing. We could not have gone through our father's passing without her.

From day one, they have shown patience, flexibility, and a genuine willingness to tailor the care plan as our parents' needs changed. There's never been judgment or pushback--just a calm, solutions-focused approach centered on comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Communication is good. We have the director's cell number and can reach out anytime. That level of access and transparency has made us feel like true partners in our parents' care. One of the most meaningful aspects has been the relationships the staff have built with our parents. They've become not just caregivers, but friends--often their main source of daily interaction and connection. It's clear the staff care deeply, and it shows in every small, thoughtful gesture. This level of personalized care and attention isn't inexpensive. We're incredibly fortunate that our parents had the foresight to invest in long-term care insurance. We are not saying it's overpriced, rather, the cost to run and staff a care community is significant. We're so grateful to the entire tea and for treating our parents with the kindness, respect, and warmth every family hopes for.

However, this could not be further from the current reality. Recently my mother's care costs were randomly and dramatically increased without proper communications or justification. This egregious occurrence was met with management silence and non-communication. Upon the advice of my legal counsel, I immediately moved my mother out of this facility. This situation has placed an immense mental, physical, and financial burden on my family. In addition, my earlier Yelp review was truncated and a portion was posted on their website. Unacceptable.

Eldercare Services has…read morebeen providing home care for my 91 year old "cantankerous", otherwise known as hard-headed, mother for 9 months and what a great help they've been. Being responsible for mom's well-being, she's diagnosed with dementia, I'm her legal conservator, is a challenge. I'm anything but an expert in geriatric care. I've learned a lot from the Care Givers and Care Manager. They provide the "heavy lifting" for working with my mom and I'm able to relax and enjoy my time with her. The Care Givers are AWESOME. They are women who care, care and continue to care about mom. They are my eyes and ears so I learn what's going on with mom from them. They take mom to all of her appointments and activities. The do exercises, prescribed by her Dr, with her. They go for a 3/4 mi walk virtually everyday. They prepare wonderful, healthy meals for her lunch and dinner. They bath her and make sure she's looking her best. They do some light house work and water the annuals and vegetables I plant. My mom likes them a lot and speaks fondly of them to me. Here's an example of helping mom over come a health related problem. Mom had a problem with elevated creatinine levels most likely because didn't have enough water in her system. She complained that she didn't want to go to the bathroom. I think she was experiencing "accidents" by not going to bathroom quick enough. The Care Givers solved this problem. There is a glass of water in every room of mom's house. They remind mom to drink some water regularly AND they "make" her go to the bathroom every 2 hours. My mom does all of this on her own now and her creatinine levels have decreased a little bit! The Care Manager is a great coordinator of mom's care with me, the Care Givers and other resources such as Doctors and the programs she has gotten mom involved with. The programs get mom out of the house, alleviating her boredom and increasing her socialization. The Care Givers take her to those programs and take care of chores, like shopping, during the time mom is in the group. We work closely on improving mon's care and well-being. The Care Manager is a wealth of knowledge and has provided suggestions on numerous issues I faced managing mom's well-being. The Care Manager's training as an RN has helped with mom's medical needs when she was exhibiting symptoms of possible health related problems. We, the Care Givers, Care Manager and myself are a great team and as such are improving the quality of life for mom. Mom's well-being is BETTER than when she was living on her own!

Eventually my mother's application was approved, but 4 months later we received a penalty notice which stopped the Medicaid payments for 6 1/2 months. When I first sent the notice to the worker she thought it was just a routine form letter until the nursing home confirmed that it was not. After paying all of the money to the company I no longer have confidence that they are Medicaid experts and have needed to spend more money to hire an Elder Care Certified Attorney to file the appeal. It seems that it would be much better to hire Certified Elder Care Law Firms in your state rather than a nationwide organization that has paraprofessionals handling such important matter.

5.0 star rating 10/9/2018 Hi, my name is Anthony Hill. I…read morewanted to express my appreciation and care I received during my stay at Moraga Post Acute therapy. The entire staff is friendly and they showed they really cared about me getting well. The Nurses and CNA's were fantastic and did everything to make me feel more comfortable in a place that is hard to feel comfortable. They really did well. As far as my Physical Therapy went, it was absolutely the best I've every been to. Unfortunately I had a severe gram mal seizure and that affects the way I can walk sometimes. Some day's I couldn't even walk at all, but with the two scheduled therapy sessions I had each day I progressed to standing up with the walker and was able to safely go use the restroom when I needed too. I had to ask the nurses at first so they could keep an eye out for a fall, but that never happened. Eventually I was able to stand and walk sturdy enough I no longer had to ask during the end of my stay. The Physical Therapy Staff and department deserve all 5 stars is how I rate them. I'm a bit of a grouch so when I say 5 stars I mean it and it's for real. The Dr's were friendly and of course knowledgeable too. The front host and administrator Victoria was always on top on things as Vicroria is the perfect person to greet visitors when entering. She makes a great first impression. Abe the G.M. was extremely nice and approachable. Most G.M's don't hardly even say hello to you or acknowledge your presence , but Abe took time out to speak with me and always had a positive smile on his face.. Great guy. Letecia the activities director was great too. Wonderful interaction with her patients and always tried to make a dull day at the nursing home/ short term rehab facility positive and a little more fun. I highly recommend Moraga Post Acute as a good place to get better. I am steadily improving now every day at home practicing the home exercises they recommended. Sincerely , Anthony Hill

Breaking my pelvis was no joke and very difficult for anybody especially the CNA's who attended me for all my needs and toiletries. There was always someone to help me and not leave me alone during my recovery. I found the food satisfactory and always delivered to our rooms on time. The rooms were cleaned every day by a very very efficient lady. She was also very entertaining. I stayed for six weeks and had three different roommates which the last one was very nice and we seem to have mutual understandings. I would recommend Moraga post acute care. The physical therapy sessions were seven days a week for me and the therapist were very thorough and supportive of me to walk again and have the equipment that I needed to support myself without falling. I have been in two rehabs in Nevada. The first after I had a stroke ending and left side deficits and the other for collapse vertebrae in my lumbar region, and neither of these facilities had daily cleaning Moraga post acute care made me feel very comfortable facility took cleaning very seriously .

It quickly became obvious that I was going to need full-time in-home care for her during my absence. That evening, I made a phone call to Visiting Angels of Livermore. They offered to provide a full no-commitment assessment, and I accepted. The next day, Mr. Keith Beck, Executive Director, came to my home and evaluated Mom's situation and needs. Mr. Beck was on-time, professional, organized and efficient. Following the assessment, we were introduced to a recommended caregiver who, assuming my approval, would be responsible for Mom. She was professional, very conversational with Mom and an experienced caregiver. By the end of the appointments, I was confident that Mom would have good, comforting care while I was gone. I was extremely impressed that Visiting Angels responded so quickly, and was also able to provide and dedicate quality staff in a timely manner. I continued the caregiving services on a part-time basis after I returned home as Mom was still not quite stable. Another caregiver was introduced and assigned. After a couple of weeks of continued part-time care, Mom became much better and I was comfortable with stopping the services. I highly recommend Visiting Angels of Livermore. All of my experiences (and my Mom's) were positive. It is a very well managed business with a reliable, kind, and supportive team: owner, office staff, and caregivers. Thanks to Visiting Angels I was able to enjoy my vacation. I will definitely use them again when and if the need arises. If you are considering in-home care for a loved one, Visiting Angels of Livermore is it. An excellent Yelp score....5 Stars all the way!
