My fathers caregiver Jeannie Taylor has been a blessing. We could not have gone through our father's passing without her.

The bad: the policies and practices here are awful. I made meal requests to multiple people about my dietary concerns, and got absolutely no response from management. Nobody informed me about the program to made me healthy again. I was kept in the dark, and found out they planned to keep me for a month, even though the only reason I was there was to improve my legs. It felt like a prison, where you're kept in a confined space. My wife had to come and take me out of there covertly. That's why I said the policies and practices suck.

This place is a monster prison. There been three people that even talk kindly to me. The staff has been abusive verbally and emotionally I believe they are delighted to be evil and cause people pain. The entire staff is friendly and they showed they really cared about me getting well. The Nurses and CNA's were fantastic and did everything to make me feel more comfortable in a place that is hard to feel comfortable. They really did well. As far as my Physical Therapy went, it was absolutely the best I've every been to. Unfortunately I had a severe gram mal seizure and that affects the way I can walk sometimes. Some day's I couldn't even walk at all, but with the two scheduled therapy sessions I had each day I progressed to standing up with the walker and was able to safely go use the restroom when I needed too. I had to ask the nurses at first so they could keep an eye out for a fall, but that never happened. Eventually I was able to stand and walk sturdy enough I no longer had to ask during the end of my stay. The Physical Therapy Staff and department deserve all 5 stars is how I rate them. I'm a bit of a grouch so when I say 5 stars I mean it and it's for real. The Dr's were friendly and of course knowledgeable too. The front host and administrator Victoria was always on top on things as Vicroria is the perfect person to greet visitors when entering. She makes a great first impression. Abe the G.M. was extremely nice and approachable. Most G.M's don't hardly even say hello to you or acknowledge your presence , but Abe took time out to speak with me and always had a positive smile on his face.. Great guy. Letecia the activities director was great too. Wonderful interaction with her patients and always tried to make a dull day at the nursing home/ short term rehab facility positive and a little more fun. I highly recommend Moraga Post Acute as a good place to get better. I am steadily improving now every day at home practicing the home exercises they recommended. Sincerely , Anthony Hill

Breaking my pelvis was no joke and very difficult for anybody especially the CNA's who attended me for all my needs and toiletries. There was always someone to help me and not leave me alone during my recovery. I found the food satisfactory and always delivered to our rooms on time. The rooms were cleaned every day by a very very efficient lady. She was also very entertaining. I stayed for six weeks and had three different roommates which the last one was very nice and we seem to have mutual understandings. I would recommend Moraga post acute care. The physical therapy sessions were seven days a week for me and the therapist were very thorough and supportive of me to walk again and have the equipment that I needed to support myself without falling. I have been in two rehabs in Nevada. The first after I had a stroke ending and left side deficits and the other for collapse vertebrae in my lumbar region, and neither of these facilities had daily cleaning Moraga post acute care made me feel very comfortable facility took cleaning very seriously .

From day one, they have shown patience, flexibility, and a genuine willingness to tailor the care plan as our parents' needs changed. There's never been judgment or pushback--just a calm, solutions-focused approach centered on comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Communication is good. We have the director's cell number and can reach out anytime. That level of access and transparency has made us feel like true partners in our parents' care. One of the most meaningful aspects has been the relationships the staff have built with our parents. They've become not just caregivers, but friends--often their main source of daily interaction and connection. It's clear the staff care deeply, and it shows in every small, thoughtful gesture. This level of personalized care and attention isn't inexpensive. We're incredibly fortunate that our parents had the foresight to invest in long-term care insurance. We are not saying it's overpriced, rather, the cost to run and staff a care community is significant. We're so grateful to the entire tea and for treating our parents with the kindness, respect, and warmth every family hopes for.

Re-posting my review from 2 weeks ago…read more.. My mom was sent to the hospital due to a fall at our home a few months ago. After she stayed there for a couple days the doctor recommended that she go into a rehab facility to improve her walking. There were many facilities that showed interest in taking care of my mom and in the end I chose Orinda Care Center cause it was closer to our home and that I would be able to visit her more often when I'm off from work. After her first week at the facility I scheduled a visit to see her and she was happy to tell me good news that she has been walking more with the help of her physical therapist. I also asked her about how she felt about the place in general and she said that the nurses were helpful with her needs, food was good, she would watch tv and talk to her roommate sometimes when she felt like it. My mom likes to be to herself so I thought that was really funny. I'm glad I took a chance on Orinda even after reading the previous bad reviews. The place may be small but I think that was the best part about it because my mom was getting more attention from the staff and I could tell they genuinely cared about her. My mom was safely discharged back to us at our home cause she no longer needed rehab services to walk. Thank you staff for all that you do during this pandemic and especially for taking really good care of my mom! I'm leaving this review to show how much I appreciate you all and to keep up the good work.

The deciding factor was simple but important: Rossmoor felt like a true medical care facility, while the other location felt more like a modern senior or retirement center. Given my father's condition, he needed real medical care--not just a nice environment--and Rossmoor clearly fit that need. From the very beginning, the level of service exceeded my expectations. Steve Stock, the General Manager, was outstanding. He gave me his mobile number and told me to text him anytime if something came up. That alone speaks volumes. I did my best not to reach out unless it was truly necessary, but whenever I did, he addressed every issue promptly and thoroughly. Not a single request was missed. I honestly don't know how he stays so organized, but he does--and it shows. One thing that really mattered to us was consistency with medications, and Rossmoor delivered. All medications were always administered correctly and on time, without exception. That level of reliability brought a lot of peace of mind. The food was also decent--better than expected for a medical facility--and whenever there was an opportunity to make things a little better or more comfortable, the staff consistently went the extra mile. The staff across the board were excellent. Every single person we interacted with was professional, kind, and clearly well trained. Special thanks to nurses Nadia, Carly, Roxanne, Marielle, and Gia--each one was outstanding and made a difficult time much easier for our family. The PT and OT staff were also fantastic--thank you Erica for your patience and care. Thanks to the laundry staff and the front desk team as well; their work doesn't go unnoticed. Bottom line: I highly recommend Rossmoor Post Acute to anyone who needs true post-acute medical care. Our experience there gave us peace of mind during a very stressful time, and for that I'm extremely grateful.

We have not been given clear explanations or timelines, which only adds to the stress and confusion. Families deserve to be part of the conversation, not left in the dark. Overall, this situation has caused a lot of unnecessary anxiety. I strongly urge the facility to improve communication, responsiveness, and clarity around patient care decisions.

This is a very mixed review. I would give Gene, the nurse…read morefrom the first floor a 10star. This man is so caring and amazing. My dad was there for several weeks and Gene knew my dad wasn't comfortable with female nurses bathing him. So whenever a female nurse was assigned to bathe my dad, Gene would volunteer to take my dad on top of the patients he was assigned to that day. Not many people volunteer to take on extra work. We are so grateful to him and this made it so much easier for my dad to bathe regularly. Otherwise he would refuse to bathe if it was a female nurse. Gene always greeted us with a smile. For patients, it's so important to see a smiling face when in a facility like this. God bless Gene and his kind heart. Another nurse who was hired towards the end of my dad's stay- (I don't remember his name but I remember he was from Afghanistan). He too was so kind and caring. He would check on my dad noticeably more than what we were used to, and hewas so attentive. It felt like he was family. The downside: They don't have an after hour number to call. You call the main number and NO ONE ever picks up. Once I was on FaceTime with my dad around 10:45pm while he was at this facility. He began having a seizure during our call. Between my husband and I, I think we called maybe 60-70 times from 10:45-4am. No one answered. We were out of state so we couldn't just drive over. Even if you drive over, at that time the front doors are locked and you call the same number for them to open the door... so if they aren't answering, it didn't matter if you are outside or not. I came back to CA the next day because I was so worried about my dad. I brought this to the attention of the nurses and was told that they don't have another after hour number to give me. They said they would leave a message for their supervisor to call me back... no one ever called me back despite me following up several times. My dad could have fallen off his bed and really hurt himself that night... and not being able to get through is a major concern and consideration if we ever need to put my dad in a rehab facility again. This is why I'm giving it a 2 star because not being able to get through to a nurse is concerning and puts patients at risk. We were lucky that nothing happened to my dad when he had his seizure but I basically didn't sleep that night and flew back the next morning at 6:30am, which could have been avoided if I was able to get through to someone when I called (& my dad didn't answer the phone either (because his phone had dropped to the floor) which made us think of the worst possible scenario). If something had happened to my dad, they would have been 100% liable, therefore, I just don't understand the reason behind it having an emergency number to call the nurses after hours... or make sure someone is assigned to the phones at all times. I doubt during the time all patients are supposedly sleeping, why phones aren't answered as nurses are more likely to be sitting at the desk than all of them being with patients the entire time (from 10:45pm-4am). Another issue is the constant ringing sound which is patients trying to get the nurses attention. I don't know how they sit there and just ignore the ringing for hours. The you hear people screaming for help which is very hard to witness. It is very concerning that patients can be yelling for help and no one shows up for a while. I know brings nurses at such facility is a very difficult job but these patients are basically relying on the nurses... as some can't even get out of bed by themselves. I am writing this because no supervisor or anyone ever got back to me. Hopefully this will bring it to their attention.
