Cup of Clam Chowder
Cindy O.

Stopped in for a light lunch. On nice afternoon, sitting on the patio waa so nice. Great view of the water across street! Service was great from the start, friendly young lady working the front. Our server, Steven F, very friendly and helpful. Our food came out pretty quick as well! We all ordered cups of Clam Chowder, split a Brigitine Salad, and Soft Pretzels. Chowder was very good along with the salad. Pretzels were a bit too doughy and soft (reminded us of mall pretzels) and dipping sauces just okay, mustard(s) would be a better choice. Overall a good experience and woukd recommend.

Brunch Date at @brigantineseafood - Imperial Beach We parked right across the street for just $2 (win!) and walked in around noon on Sunday. You guys, the weather was chef's kiss: sunny with a light breeze. We grabbed a table at the bar and in the sun and honestly... perfection. The macadamia nut + coconut-crusted French toast immediately caught my eye so I paired it with scrambled eggs. Hubby went for the skirt steak chilaquiles and said it was fire. This spot is our go-to when we want beach vibes without fighting the crowds. They also accept OpenTable reservations, so if you're coming during peak brunch hours, book ahead. And for my drinkers... when I was still drinking, I always loved their Brig Margarita, and the Brig Mule was another fave. Imperial Beach + brunch + breeze = always a good idea.

This place is right down the street, had to try it. Everything was good, i got the Crab & Shrimp Fondue, Lobster Tempura Tacos, Blackened Shrimp Flatbread and the Best Creme Brulee I've had. Definitely coming back again soon. Oh and I enjoyed the service and the vibes of the place. Can't go wrong with beach front restaurants.

This is a biased review as not only was I relatively intoxicated here and potentially made some friends, but this is also waaayy too close to my new apartment, and I will certainly end up here again. And I didn't even drink that much.....in my opinion. The drinks here are REALLY strong. Like, I get an old fashioned fairly often, and I've almost never gotten one this strong. I was practically in Narnia prancing with fauns after the first glass. One of these cocktails is like........five cocktails on Coronado. Lol. I also got a chowder and fish tacos with coleslaw and chips. But since I was already on drugs, I don't want to review them in detail except to say that they were all good.

The food is delicious here. The fish tacos are very good. The drinks are well made too. The service is excellent. Very satisfied with dining at this restaurant. We go almost every week. The ambiance is pleasant and not noisy at all.

I was pleasantly surprised by this beautiful restaurant. The service was great waitress was outgoing and friendly. Our food was amazing with good portions I would highly recommend the Mahi and swordfish tacos!! They also have a full bar with a selection of draft beer. What more can you ask for.

Salmon on the regular menu with the mustard, cream sauce and lightly blackened.

We went out to the local Brigantine for dinner last night. I ordered the salmon that's on the regular menu with the mustard cream sauce on the side and lightly blackened. It was fantastic and looking forward to ordering it again. The service is always special with KAT... everything she does is personalized. So if you're in Imperial Beach belly up at the bar and have a bite to eat... highly recommend. For a drink, you could try her Mai Thai or on tap the June Summer desert cooler kombucha... it has been nice for the summer. Course anything that KAT makes is so delicious.

Shrimp and crab Louie

Whenever we visit Imperial Beach we always have lunch at Brigantine. We always find parking in the free public lot a block and a half down the street. We come for an early lunch and haven't ever had to wait for a table. We always sit outside and enjoy the view. The service is always excellent and I've never been disappointed with my meal. I recommend the fish tacos! I've also enjoyed the shrimp and crab Louie salad for a lighter option. My only complaint is the cocktails, they can be pricey and in my experience have been hit and miss. I stick to my favorite glass of wine now. I recommend giving this Brigantine location a try.

First off, I lived say our waitress was absolutely fantastic! She was very upfront about all the service and the food options. Very attentive check on this multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed as well. Kat has been here 8yrs

This was supposed to be an update. I went out of my way to come to this restaurant. I had been here previously and had a wonderful experience. The food is delicious and the service was excellent. There's an area for people with dogs. It is a welcome place with comfortable seating.

Been here a couple of times when visiting SD and always an excellent time. Service is great, food is wonderful, happy hour specials lovely, and location across the street to walk off at the pier, perfection. Parking is a little crazy but you do what you gotta do.

BRIG CLASSIC CALAMARI STRIPS

In town visiting and decided to check out the Pier. Brigantine is right at the start of it with some lovely outdoor seating and big doors opening to the inside. Was sat very quickly on a Monday afternoon. A little confusion between who was our server or not, but drinks and food came quick. Oysters were all very good for the happy hour price as well as some calamari and salads on the side. Overall a nice joint for some quick eats before walking around!

The view is great during lunch. It's beach casual and the staff is pleasant. Basic seafood, but it's good.

No there is ample parking on the streets though. All free. Or there is a lot directly across the street for 2$

It has been a few years since I have been here, so now it is time to do a review…read more This place is located smack in the middle of downtown. Parking is really hard, so preferably take an uber or park at the conventiom center or Hilton. Its only a 10 min from there to the restaurant and super easy access to get put of downtown. I really like this place because the ambiance is like being in Spain, DJ and Live Latin Music until around 1am. Decor is like being in a Spaniard "Bar" and it is usually pretty busy. Full bar, good cocktails, wine list and a great variety type of Cold and Hot Tapas to share. Their signature dish for me Is the Black Seafood Paella made with the squid's black ink. Lively music and there is an area where you can dance if you are up to the mood Great place to gather with friends, they do take reservations or you can also walk in and sit at the bar if the tables are busy. There is like a second floor with tables to be a little bit more separate from the music. Ladies bathroom, very interesting decor with pics of cute famous Spanish and Latin Actors. The only thing is that there was no a/c in the restroom so it was super hot there even if were there for 2 minutes. Service was average. Not out of this world. I think our waiter was taking care of too many tables at the same time and he was always in a hurry. We had to hunt him down to get our orders taken and even for the bill. This left a lot to desire for the restaurant quality. But still a good option for dinner, fun, laughs and dance.

Great spot after the game or just strolling around The "all in" paella and both the white and red sangrias are phenomenal. You can also get all the classic tapas, jamon Iberia, etc here making it a little taste of Spain by the ballpark They also have a pretty popular salsa dancing club downstairs that I've been meaning to check out

Located in a small shopping center with a few parking spaces, Tanuki is a great tapas and standard sushi spot. It leans more toward Asian‑fusion tapas with some sushi rolls and a limited selection of nigiri and sashimi. If you're looking for specialty fish, a huge roll list, or omakase, this isn't that kind of sushi place. But if you want a wide selection of sake, fun fusion tapas, and some classic sushi options, this is your spot. I love that they have a small bar and that cozy, true hole‑in‑the‑wall feel. The staff is friendly, the vibe is relaxed, and it's the perfect place to come alone, with a friend, or for a casual date night. The quality is solid, and the service is fast and welcoming. They also have some great sake and green‑tea‑based drinks. I love it here -- definitely a go‑to spot for us.

It definitely helped to make a reservation as there's very limited seating, but even though it is a small space inside, I did not feel cramped. There's also outdoor seating available, but I'd much prefer to sit indoor for the atmosphere. The food for the most part was very good and enjoyable. Although there are a couple items that I would never order again, such as the seared wagyu tapa--it is a very cheap cut and the easily the most disappointing item I had on the menu. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience and my server was very nice and attentive. I would come dine here again, especially for the chicken katsu.

Our waiter learned it was our first visit to the eatery, and recommended we try their…read more"off-the-menu" tasting menu. "2 dishes per person," he promised--we were game. He mentioned they'd course the dishes out, 2 at a time, ensuring each of the dishes were paired intentionally. Beet Salad From someone who's not easily impressed with vegetable-led dishes, this was delicious. This dish was visually vibrant, and the flavor mirrored that vibrancy. The beets themselves were stunningly soft, even juicy I'd say. It's root-y flavor was ever-present, but it never became unwelcome on the dish. "Fragrant" is another word we all used to describe the plate, with the fresh mint and succulent citrus fruit widening each our eyes. Sweet, savory, fresh and...creamy. This salad sat on top of a delightful carrot labneh, which provided a creamy element further elevating the dish. It brought a bit of tang to the salad that I appreciated. Finally, there was a crunchy detail (which we know I love) from intelligently included pieces of pastelli--a Greek treat made from sesame seeds and honey, and that sweet crunch fostered the table's excitement. Trust was firing on cylinders early, strong start. Hamachi Crudo Insane. I'm a big fan of the amount of flavor that's packed in such a delicate dish. Off rip, you're met with a visually exciting dish. Red, green, and purple from the thinly sliced pepper, cucumber, and radish pop right off the dish. Bright colors and exquisite execution, placed in a circle to match the shape of the dish, had each of us salivating. With the first taste, the crisp bite of fresh cucumber catches your senses immediately, and then subtly spicy, cream sauce. It was aguachile blanco--my first time having the blanco variant. The flavor was stupid, I struggled to describe it's uniqueness. The Mexican flavor profile was proliferated by fresh cilantro and thinly sliced radish, followed with a textured salsa seca. The light nature of the dish paired pristinely with the beet salad. Now, these next two dishes were an exciting 1-2 punch in showing you exactly what Chef is all about--that signature wood fire Wood Grilled Cauliflower I always eat my vegetables, but I rarely enjoy them. They're two for two in accomplishing that feat. In a bowl lined with curry, they served up a healthy helping of cauliflower that showcases its smokiness first. With that first bite, you taste the fire quickly, but what surprised me most was how soft each piece of the veg was. The curry and smoky flavor from the wood fire paired deliciously. Though, my favorite aspect of this delivery was the inclusion of raisins and fresh mint. This was a new combo for me, and it delivered. The sourness from the raisins and the cool, herbaceous qualities of the mint cut right through the charred flavor. A beautiful contrast. As we continued to dismantle the plate, there was a familiar flavor that we all recognized but couldn't identify. Maybe it was the serrano aioli or the black lentils. Either way, we all enjoyed this one. Wood Grilled Octopus This was a favorite of mine, but I was alone in that regard. While nobody disliked the dish, the table had mixed reviews. For me, this was perfectly cooked. The texture of the octopus was ridiculous with a cooking technique that created a crispy exterior while maintaining a tender bite. The smokiness didn't shy away here either. I mean damn. Most weren't a fan of the pepperoni, but fresh, ground meat added a rustic flavor pop that satiated my palate. It held that beloved pepperoni flavor, but this style allowed for it's flavor to spread across each bite. What made this dish unique from any other octopus I've had was the addition of castelvetrano olives and legumes. They both brought an interesting flavor and texture element that surprised me. Lastly, the salsa verde served as a perfect sauce, providing an element of moisture that complimented the charred features. Well done. After round two is when shit got real. Crab Fried Rice OH SHIT. WTF. One of the best rice dishes I've ever had. This is one we all wished was much much bigger. Despite the name, this dish includes chunks of incredibly juicy, wood-roasted lobster that there was never going to be enough of. The crab was shredded and could be found in each bite of plump rice, providing a pleasing flavor. Both a lemongrass emulsion and Thai chili were included, offering a wonderful duality of zest and spice. I thoroughly enjoyed the basil and cashew elements as they created some extra variety in flavor and texture. Not much else is needed for me to say, it's a must order. Char Sui Glazed Brisket OH SHIT. Back to back hitters, and they paired...
