We have been coming here for years, quality of food has gone down a bit but we still enjoy coming. Unfortunately tonight we requested a bigger booth since my brother is a little bigger and has Down syndrome so he tends to need more space because of his size as well as his needs. After requesting it they started cleaning it but another waitress with blonde hair (Guerra) ,sat someone else a party of 2 at the xl booth. My family and I have been coming to Hector's for nearly 20 years and they have yet to disappoint. The food is always on point, as well as their service. We even made it a point to take advantage of their take-out service during the pandemic -- so thankful they survived! A close second is their grilled seafood combination (grilled fish, shrimp, calamari, octopus, scallops, onions & mushrooms), this is our family's favorite. So flavorful and huge enough to share. A recent delicious discovery (thanks to my stubborn 4 year-old who insisted on carne asada) was their carne asada burrito! I know...carne asada burrito at a mariscos restaurant, but let me tell you it is by far one of the best I've ever had! Stuffed with juicy chary, grilled carne asada, sliced avocado and a light sprinkle of pico de gallo...absolute perfection!! Their chimichangas are pretty bomb as well! Oh! I hate writing bad reviews ,but I didnt liked this place, doesnt look very Family oriented. More like a bar ambiance, super dark music too loud, food was average ,we tried 5 or 6 different dishes, shrimp ceviche was warm, fish was very greasy, campechana cocktail was warm as well, they really need a good water filter, it tasted like plain tap water. They were sweeping in front of our table, cleaning and prepping for the next day instead of taking our orders. They took our order and forgot to mention one of items was not available no more. This is a sad review... Hector on Broadway is going downhill. They've gone a bit oregano crazy in the fish ceviche. This last time I got it delivered. They sent me two whole lemons. I was eating in a car. If they needed help, they should've at least sent a plastic knife! The shrimp in the taco was not clean, over cooked, and I found little burned pieces of something... the fish tacos are good still. They send you 1 tostada for the ceviche. They used to give you two. The one tostada for an 8oz cup of ceviche would've been fine if they would still send you the small bag of chips, but they don't send you those anymore :( I understand everything went up and I understand the prices but if I'm paying $7-8 for a taco with 4 rubbery shrimp that's not even clean, then I don't think it's worth it. read more

The service was a bit slow and we did have to ask several times for things, but the food was on point. We ordered tacos de marlin, tacos gobernador, raw oysters, ceviche verde, and aguachile de salmon. My favorite had to be the tacos de gobernador!!!
