The best tacos I've ever had. Quality seafood Forsure!! We come here every week to Novo for their food and it pairs well with the drinks as well. Highly recommend the fish, breaded shrimp, and quesabirria tacos. They have other items not on the menu such as fries, flautas, and chips!! definitely my favorite taco truck ever!!

Left, taco Rolex (shrimp with marlin) Right, fish tacos. Added pickled onions.

I normally drive down to the other side of Chula Vista for authentic fish tacos. That is no longer the case my friends and I that makes me soooo happy!!!! This truck it right on Telegraph in the corner by the Arco gas station heading North on the 805. Fish tacos are delicious, fish is nice and flaky in the inside and crunchy on the outside. They have a green crema sauce that's really good, plus 6 other options of sauces but the green one really stood out to me. Consome (broth) is great not watered down like the ones I've had before. I like to add lime and salsa so mine. Parking can be a little difficult if it's busy. They're on a corner inside of the gas station so be prepared to circle around about or park in gas. Can't wait to go back and try the birria tacos and aguachile!

Friendly and quick service. Fish tacos are $1.5 and specialty tacos (i.e. Governador) are $4.5. They have two picnic-style tables to sit outside. Fish taco is simple but delicious, served with cream and chopped tomato. The fish is nice and flaky, fried in a light and delicate batter. Would definitely be back for those. We also tried the Maquine and Governador and they were both good. They offered complimentary consome/broth.

Some of the worst tacos I've ever eaten. Heard this place was good, oh how they were wrong. The meat is a flavorless sack of dead animal. On top of that the guaca sauce they put on my taco was already bad, it left a bee slimy film over my tongue. Thought it was just that taco so I had another nope second was even worse because my expectations were already lowered. Overall experience never should have listened to friends who overhyped this place. I will not return even if I get reincarnated.

I could say this is a really good spot for mariscos. The workers here are really nice and talk to you like they know you for years. When I come back from LA this would be the spot I hit first.

While traveling back to the highway via Telegraph Canyon Road, I was coincidently craving a fish taco. By pure fate, I found Mariscos Rolex. I'm a huge fan of assorted sauces during any culinary experience, so the first thing that impressed me was the variety of hot sauce available on the table. The girl that took my order was extremely friendly and was willing to answer any questions that I had. However, I knew what I wanted. I went straight for the $1.25 Fish taco, and the $4.50 Marlin taco...both were very flavorful. While we waited for our food, the girl gave us cups of soup that was similar in taste to a Campechana broth. Overall, I would certainly come back. The Marlin taco wasn't very big based on the price, so I would likely order a handful of Fish tacos the next time. I encourage you to try the other seafood items they offer, all look pretty legit.

This food truck is located in a very awkward place right next to a gas station and getting to it can be tricky depending on what direction you're coming from. Parking may be slim as well as getting a seat at one of their many two tables but once the smoke settles and you fight for your spot and receive your food you'll know all your effort was worth it. The food is delicious I definitely recommend their fish tacos you can never go wrong especially for $1.50

Really good, fresh, Mexican seafood for a great price. I've had the Agua Chile Verde, Tosatada Especial, and various fish and shrimp tacos. All have been very well served, taste fresh, and delicious. Highly recommended to anyone in the Chula Vista area.

My fave Marisco truck .. Always the best , quality food fresh , fast . They also serve birria tacos for picky eaters, like my kids who are not into seafood .

Omg so good. I was around the corner at the DMV for like 3 hours (I'm never moving out of Cali…read moreagain...) and waiting in the line for vehicle inspection when I said, let me get some food and wait instead... So glad I found Mar Y Tierra!!! Everyone was sooo nice to me even though I had a hard time remembering "sesenta" briefly (when I think in Spanish now, Japanese comes out... it's funny but it's a problem lol) and even though I'm a gringa with a basic order. I just got 1 shrimp & 1 fish taco both with avocado and a jamaica. When I tell you I ate these like I had never eaten food before... Shrimp was incredibly tender and wonderful. The fish was huge, flaky and crispy and juicy. Honestly I ate them so quickly they could've been made of liquid. But they were sooo delicious!! They included extra sauce and the green salsa wasn't too spicy for me which I so appreciate! They also included 2 limes for one of the tacos which made me think someone really loves me today :') I would definitely come back here anytime and try more things on the menu! Very very delicious!! Thank you for the delicious food and taking care of me today!!!

We were immediately seated, but as soon as my husband and I saw the menu, we wanted to get up and leave. Their menu was very limited, very pricey for the the place & location. But since my daughter was excited to try it, we decided to stay. No bento boxes here, and everything you request is an additional charge, even a tiny amount of teriyaki sauce! My daughter got the Naruto bowl, and my husband, the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl, each one costing $17 EACH. I went with the soy sauce ramen which was $16, and to add an egg additional $1.50. The bowls were only filled with rice, the ramen was filled with scallions, and not much else. The Cali Roll were also mostly rice, no avocado, they were so cheap and did not even add wasabi & ginger! Plus the place was not very clean. In front of where we were seated were dirty bins collecting dirty dishes, and a trash can where servers just dumped everything from trash, to soups, to drinks! It was so nasty, why not place the trash cans inside, where it is hidden, not where customers were dining?!? We won't be coming back. Pls save your money for another Japanese restaurant... the price, portion or taste weren't worth it for us.

Just a heads up before you go, there is no seating. It's a standing-room-only setup with barrel tables throughout the outdoor space. You order from one of the trucks, find a place to stand, and enjoy your food. The atmosphere felt lively and authentic, making it part of the experience. Service: Service was quick and efficient despite the crowd. There was even someone helping direct parking, which made arriving and finding a spot much easier. Food: The complimentary consommé completely stole the show for me. It was rich, flavorful, and packed with chunks of seafood. Every bite had a deep, savory flavor with just the right amount of spice. It was honestly my favorite thing we tried. We ordered the Gobernador, the Negrita, and fish tacos. The Gobernador was loaded with shrimp and melted cheese, creating the perfect combination of rich, savory seafood flavor. The shrimp tasted incredibly fresh and was cooked perfectly. The Negrita was another standout, piled high with shrimp, sliced avocado, and topped with an oyster that added even more fresh ocean flavor. It was served with tostadas on the side, and every bite was packed with bold seasoning, fresh seafood, and great texture. The fish taco was good and made with fresh ingredients. My bf and I are big foodies and have eaten a lot of fish tacos over the years, so we're probably tougher critics than most. While it wasn't our favorite item of the meal, it was still enjoyable, and the Gobernador and Negrita were the clear standouts for us. While the prices are a little higher, the quality, freshness, and portion sizes help justify it. Overall, this was a great experience from start to finish. Between the flavorful seafood, and generous portions, it's definitely worth coming back again.

El Prieto (Main St, San Diego) Rating: 2.5 / 5 Stars…read more I really wanted to enjoy my visit to El Prieto, but unfortunately, the experience was a series of "almosts" that didn't quite land. Here is the breakdown of my recent meal: The Food The kitchen missed the mark on a few basics. My bistec ranchero was underwhelming; the sauce was overly "tomatoey," lacking the deep, savory complexity or spice you expect from a solid ranchero. To make matters worse, the rice served on the side was noticeably cold, which is always a disappointment. The Drinks The beverage situation was equally frustrating. I was surprised to find that the bar offers no wine options at all. I decided to pivot to an Arnold Palmer, which ended up being the worst version of the drink I've ever had--the proportions were completely off. Service & Atmosphere The service felt lacking throughout the night, with very little attention paid to the table. Most off-putting, however, is the policy stated on the menu: a 45-minute window to eat. It's hard to relax and enjoy a meal when you feel like you're being timed by the staff. Verdict Between the cold sides, a limited bar, and the rushed atmosphere created by the time limit, I can't say I'd be in a hurry to return. There are too many great spots in San Diego to settle for a 45-minute countdown.
