This was our first time dining at La Sinaloense Mexican Seafood Restaurant in Chula Vista, CA. The restaurant opened five years ago in the middle of the pandemic. As soon as we walked in, the servers were very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant has beautiful Mexican pottery with plants and ceramic plates as decor. We tried the following dishes: *Molcajete Cielo, Mar y Tierra. Plate comes with rice and refried beans. The dish for some reason did not come in the hot stone "molcajete" like in the picture. My dad was looking forward to that presentation and was a bit disappointed but said he really enjoyed the chicken, steak and shrimp. The shrimp comes in a delicious creamy chipotle sauce. *Mojarra Frita Al Mojo De Ajo: Fried Tilapia in garlic butter sauce. The plate also came with rice and refried beans. *Fried Fish taco *Fried shrimp taco *Kids quesadilla plate *Michelada beer All of the dishes were delicious and good portion sizes. They gave us a taste of their homemade menudo in red sauce. The meat was very tender with a nice tasting broth. I'm definitely coming back for that soup and also try their breakfast menu. If you want a spicy cocktail or one that has at least some lemon flavor to it. This is not the one. Very bland taste. I asked the girl who gave it to me if it came with chile or salsas and she said it had everything packed already. I opened it and it's just ketchup and mayonnaise lol. Rating is solely due to SERVICE that we received. This was my first time coming here. We came here for a birthday celebration & I believe it was karaoke night. Amazing live singers, but it was SO obnoxiously loud I couldn't even hear my husband who was sitting right NEXT to me. They have their own private lot which was great because I try avoiding anywhere that has bad parking situations or overly crowded. It was somewhat a full house. Our party being the biggest group. I ordered a steak platter. Don't get me wrong, my food was great! I ordered it medium well & it was cooked to perfection. Flavorful, just chef's kiss. It also came with nopal, tortillas, a spoon of guac (literally 1 spoon), hella pico, panela, frijoles, & some fire papas. The papas had cheese & bacon. Soooo delicious. I couldn't have asked for a better dish. & honestly, wished our experience was better so I could continue to support this local business. THE DOWNFALL - To begin, again, the music... Couldn't even hear my own thoughts. When the waiter was asking for my order I told her, "I can't hear you." She had the NASTIEST attitude & it showed. It was an older blondish curly haired lady. Not my goddamn fault you guys have everything on volume 100. She proceeded to point to her electronic ordering system while rolling her eyes. I literally ordered it on the system myself. When we went in, we asked if the bill could be split PRIOR to ordering anything & they said YES. Cool, easier for everyone. After they were so unorganized & obviously did NOT know how to handle a large party, they got orders confused & ended up putting everything on ONE bill. They proceeded to later tell us we could not pay separately making it even more complicated when they already seemed to be flustered. Keep in mind, this was AFTER they told us we could split the bill by parties. While looking at the receipt, there were items that no one ordered being charged. We spent 30mins trying to figure out the bill. Had they done what they originally said they were, it would've been a breeze. They ended up willing to split everyone's bill per party, therefore making things even WORSE. Because they did not know who ordered what. My husband & I shared the steak platter, a jamiaca, & two micheladas. Our bill came out to no more than $70. We were first in line to pay; my husband gave them cash & they did not tender any change. IT IS NOT UP TO YOU TO DECIDE HOW MUCH WE WANT TO TIP BY KEEPING OUR CHANGE. If they were concerned about tip, they should have their own policies about large parties, gratuities, & enforcing split bills. My husband didn't say anything & I was outside because everything was giving me a headache. Had I been inside I would've asked for it back myself. But my husband let it go. Whatever, if they need it more than us. Lol. That's why you get paid hourly & it's not a requirement to tip. Although we always do, even if service is SHITTY. But again, not up to a waiter to decide. If you don't like your job or rely solely on tips, find a different job paying more! Once we paid, we stood outside in the parking lot waiting for the rest of our party. I'm not sure what happened after we went outside since we were the first to pay - but the other black-haired waitress, also older shouted profanities outside to us while inside the restaurant & we were standing in parking lot. Couldn't hear her clearly to make out what she said. Loved the food but not somewhere I'd be willing to spend money at after the horrible experience. My favorite restaurant for Mexican seafood in SD (the meat is also great, I just don't eat much anymore). I love their fish platters (the Veracruz is my favorite), tostada de pescado, and aguachile. They also make a great shrimp with chipotle crema burrito, which is perfect when you just want comfort food. My husband and friends love the meat molcajete.The portions are huge - the plates definitely feed two people, so be prepared when you order. They have a lot of seating and a nicely-sized parking lot, making it very convenient to stop by. I like to sit outside since the music is always very loud, but sitting inside looks fun. The staff have always been really nice about lowering the volume on the patio when asked. Lastly, the staff genuinely cares about their community and is a great place to support. I've seen them provide free meals to the homeless, and their staff members are incredibly friendly. read more

Guests are greeted as they step into restaurant, and seated with menus, chips and delicious salsa. My mom an I shared a taco and enchilada combination plate. Bothe of us were served a noodle and tomato based soup to start. When entree arrived, extra plates and utensils were brought too. This place is constantly changing, renovations, events, decor, staff There was a consistent menu for a while and we enjoyed every visit, was our go to spot for some good seafood tacos but we were disappointed the last 2 visits We now notice multiple times we have had new servers and regular faces are gone :( and we are over charged for kids menu items at full price. This is now the 3rd time with the staff telling us they can't fix it cause they already brought the adult portion out when we mention the kids menu at ordering. Seems like a sneaky way to raise their ticket sales, and just play dumb and avoid the table after that. Thankfully the ambience is more enjoyable but we are in no rush to come back. read more

I go here often for great posolé. It's often busy but especially weekends for breakfast. The posole is served with ample spices and garnishes. Bone in short rib, lots of hominy, so filling! On of my favorite places for posolé. It's a casual restaurant, not fancy, average noise, somewhat tight quarters, simple decor, beer and cocktails. Definitely recommend the food! read more

My husband got a Carnitas taco & enchilada combo, I got my favorite a Bean & Cheese burrito and our daughter got the same as me:) My husband is really hard to impress and he loved his meal! First, I ordered coffee and it was in a Mexican cup made of clay called taza de barro ! How cute!!! The lady waitress gave us the menu and we start ordering : my Chorizo con Huevo was served in a warm plate with warm tortillas. It was huge servings and was flavorful. and my son got d steak quesadillas in a Warm huge plate as well- both with rice n beans. Well It was lots of food and we both enjoyed it. We were stuffed! Ambiance was nice they have big TVs they played the Latino soccer thing. This place is horrible. I was harassed aggressively in the parking lot by one of the staff members there. He was yelling at me over parking and preceded to approach me at my vehicle. I was alone and a women at night. I managed to get into my car and he refused to move out of my way so I could exit driveway so I started yelling at him and he punched my windows repeatedly until I pulled out my pepperspray and sprayed him. 7/20/24 Dinner hours Myself, my son and my mom asked to sit on the patio area and everything was amazing! The food and the service was fantastic and the Clamatos were so delicious and included two huge shrimp! I ordered the Shrimp Culichi quesadilla and it was not only delicious but GIANT! Definitely enough to share between a couple of people. My son got the steak and enchilada combo that came with grilled nopal with a delicious grilled cheese on top! Also rice, beans, pico and a grilled jalapeño. My mom got the 7 Mares and it was soooooo good! That soup was so loaded with seafood and had a side of rice and cilantro & onions. Tortillas too! They use precooked shrimp and just added "garlic sauce", rice had a very nasty flavor, guacamole was mainly tomato their best thing on my plate were the beans. I can't say enough great things about La Sinaloense. We actually ate here two days in a row because it is that delicious. Everything from the taste, service, cleanliness and environment are amazing. The staff and owner are so friendly, provide constant service and work hard. They are always running around just to provide quick service and checked on our table at least five times to offer refills and ask if we needed anything.
