Bomb food ! We walked in with no wait at all and all of the waitresses are super sweet and check on your table often! Not sure if this matters to anyone, but I have been to various restaurants where the waitress will only address my boyfriend and ignore me , but not here ! They all addressed both of us or just me alone or would at least make eye contact with me first when asking us something. They definitely show respect here and I can appreciate that ! Brought mom for kareokre and dinner last Saturday we had the molcajete cielo mar y torreta I ordered for one person and added a salad to share it all with my mom. You might find something and think it's half the price but its higher (e.g. think it's $30 plate but it's $50+). We ran into this issue, we asked the staff about it and they got super argumentative and aggressive. I've visited this restaurant many times, however, I will no longer be going and strongly discourage anyone from doing so. If you decide to visit, do NOT use a credit card, as they will take it upon themselves to add an additional tip than what you approve on the receipt, as much as an additional 25% above the original tip. Not only have they done this to me, but they've also done it to one of my family members. Their customer service may seem great but don't be fooled. They are dishonest. I'm very careful when it comes to checking my bank statements for this very reason. You have been warned. read more

Well we were originally on our way to negro Durazo but along the way we saw this spot. We decided to give it a try and boy it didn't disappoint........ the food was great. We got a molcajete that had, shrimp, octopus, queso mexicano and a nopal all on some sort of sauce with melted cheese....was amazing. The mojarra was delicious as well. Michelada was on point...... service was great. The staff was real nice and attentive. We noticed waiters serve everyone not just their table so that was real nice to see....cool open spot. This restaurant was a serendipitous discovery by a non-Latino man and his non-Latina wife. We stay on our boat at Chula Vista Marina (now a Safe Harbor's Marina). We were out shopping about dinner time and were doing the "what are you hungry for dance" when, after vetoing Mexican restaurants, I said seafood sounds good. My wife remembered La Sinaloense had seafood on their sign. We were treated to a true gem. I had the Filete a La planche with a properly (not overcooked) cooked delicate filet of sole (similar to sole?) in a stunning green chili (not spicy) sauce. It was delicate, interesting and purely delicious. It came with the obligatory rice and refried beans. But also with crispy corn tortillas which I loved. My wife ordered the Tostada al Viejón, a stack of ceviche shrimp, octopus, cucumber, onion etc. the stack could easily feed two hungry adults. We took home 60% or so. It was so fresh, well prepared and visually pleasing that having it for lunch the next day would be super. Full marks for the service! Two slight downsides, though. The ambience is just fine, but, homey. They do not serve any alcohol. That, is a two edged sword in that lots of Mexican Restaurant frequenters expect Margaritas and cervesas, but alcohol does not have a nutritional benefit. We will definitely go back. It is worth a try for sure. read more

This place is ok. Just ok. The pros were they had live music periodically while we were there. We went around 7 pm on a Thursday night. The chips were meh. Not fresh but not terrible. Salsa was good. Here's what bothered me- they don't have a full liquor license and don't tell you that up front or even when you ask. I called ahead and asked if they had tequila and full liquor bar. They said yes. Then we show up and I order a margarita on the rocks. I asked for a second time if they had tequila in the margaritas. She said ya. So I get the margarita and it tasted like wine and cherry cough syrup. Gross. I literally saw her pour from a white zifendel boxed wine for someone else's margarita.... No thanks. I do see the other reviews on here saying they had margaritas and they were watered down. Well that's probably why... So I opted for a water. Anyways, as for the food. We got ceviche. It was okay. Raspberry tea cup had a dirty lipstick stain, told the waiter and they poured the same liquid into a different cup. My pancakes strawberries tasted like meat, it made me lose my appetite. I have been meeting friends for breakfast for over 6 months and the breakfast are delicious. They make regular and Sinaloa style machaca which is made with reconstituted dried beef from Sinaloa. I order it with eggs and nopales. I have also tried the huevos rancheros and chilaquiles, both are yummy. My friends have ordered the American breakfasts and say they are also very good.
