Taco Hector's & Taco de Camaron

The taco HECTOR is one of the best tacos ever!! I always crave it and always come back to try other things. This place is great for casual dates or families where everyone can get what they want. Come order the taco hector, cucarachas, and ceviche de salmon. YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!

This was my partner's favorite Mexican food in San Diego, so we had to come check it out when we were in San Diego. We got the traditional fish tacos and their grilled ones. It was definitely tasty, but I expected a little more from it. We also got their hot and spicy squid and that was amazing! I love that they did not go easy on the spices. Their salmon ceviche, though, was out of this world. I could eat this for days! It was so fresh and tasty. It was made with the perfect balance of sweetness and freshness. Their mangoes and salmon were so good, I can talk about it for days! It was worth checking out and definitely go for their ceviche!!

I like coming here on Tuesday for their fish taco deal. I'll usually just do pick up. We recently dined in with our family. Good amount of seating, can hold groups. I got the two fish taco plate with rice and beans. Definitely recommend. My husband likes their 7 seas soup. My daughter ordered the chipotle shrimp plate and finished it, so it must also be good. I also ordered the seafood ceviche. See photos.

Disappointing. I would give half a star if possible. Ordered take out from Hector Mariscos tacos on a Monday night and I received my tacos over fried and shrimp burntand the taco didn't come with any garnish (lettuce, pico de gallo, or sauce) and also gave a small amount of beans. I used to order this dish often and I guess their cooks and quality of service has definitely lowered! Not like before!

*This is a family favorite spot. been coming for years.... *Food is good *Service can be a tad slow, depending on the time you go. *Casual ambiance *Great for parking * Tasty micheladas and Cubanito drink. Are usual here is the molcajete mixto, which serves 2 this is a good portion and is so tasty comes with a side of beans, rice and Salad, and a small fish consome. My second favorite is the salmon ceviche a must-try! The ceviche endiablado is spicy and could be the hangover cure! Fish tacos are great. Definitely got to come in and try.

Went back to Hector's Mariscos after 2 years. I was here on a Friday afternoon with a party of four. Dining area has not changed but it was clean and organized. We were greeted by a smiling host and waitress. After getting seated, we were immediately served a basket of warm tortilla chips and delicious and tasty side of fresh salsa. We ordered the fried calamari and half dozen oysters as appetizers. The calamari was fresh and it was a well served amount that came with a side or tartar sauce. The oysters were also fresh and delicious! Prior to getting our entrees served, we were served a delicious "consome" (cup of seafood broth). Our main dishes consisted of Shrimp Enchiladas, a "parrillada" (surf n turf) with a New York steak and battered shrimp, a plate of grilled shrimp and a large Coctel "campechano" which consisted of shrimp, oysters, octopus and scallops. The enchiladas were stuffed and full of flavor. The steak was perfectly cooked to a medium which is how we ordered it. With the exception of the cocktail, the other three dishes were served with rice and refried beans and your choice of corn or flour tortillas. The only thing that we noticed were the shrimp, both battered and grilled were somewhat under seasoned. After this visit I have to say that I will be back and would recommend this place to anyone looking for some Mexican Seafood with the option to dine in.

Just be more patient and mindful that they're doing the best they can Food 5/5 -mixed(surtido) and cheek(cachete) tacos, meat is TENDER. I honestly can't taste the difference between the two, I just knew I wanted to keep eating them(even after eating 3). Sturdy tortillas so the tacos weren't falling apart as I was eating, I also really liked that each table had two squeeze bottles of salsa, so convenient -orden/order, if you come here, you have to order this soup with the head meat. It's the essence that sums up the restaurant, it's a little peppery with the sweetness from the diced onions and meaty goodness. It comes with about 4 tortillas and there's a lot of meat in the soup to be made into more tacos Ambiance 5/5 -restaurant was full of people eating food happily(obviously the food was delicious) and there was a guy that sang for donations and vendors that came through selling trinkets, just a mixing pot of life and happy place to eat

Not pictured was a taco de tripas which my dad was not very impressed with but everything else he got, he loved. IMO, carne asada tasted a bit burnt. Parking shouldn't be an issue, they have spots in the front but then there's the big garage right behind it, and it's free. There's also street parking but you might have to pay. The place itself is very spacious and clean. They also have an outdoor patio for dogs. I do know later in the evening it gets louder and more like a club vibe, but it's not bad. Service was perfectly fine. I had no issues at all. Staff greeted us with a smile when we walked in. They were always checking up on us when we needed things. No issues at all. I thought everyone was doing their jobs. Happy hour is so worth it here. $1.99 tacos! I had the carne asada, birria and Chicharonnes tacos! While the meat portions look small, y'all need to realize this is happy hour street tacos! Adding some salsa from the self serve bar, it was so worth the price. We had 11 tacos, cheese nachos, 2 beers and 1 margarita and it was about $50! So worth it! I highly recommend Kalaveras for Mexican food. Great vibes. Great happy hour prices. I think this place is good for large groups also. It may not be kid friendly later into the night but it's very worth it!
