Growing up on Long Island, making the trip out to Briermere Farms for Thanksgiving pies is one of my favorite traditions, and clearly, I'm not alone. Briermere is a true Long Island favorite! Every year, my family and I brave the drive and it's always 100% worth it. We always make sure to pick up three pies: the classic apple, the pumpkin, and our absolute must have, the apple crumb. The apple crumb is a personal favorite, the topping has the perfect amount of crumb, and try it warm with vanilla ice cream .. chefs kiss.We also never leave without a box of their chocolate chip cookies with pecans, and if you haven't tried their apple butter, you're missing out. Spread it on toast or pastries and it's absolutely delicious. The farm stand itself is so cute, especially around the holidays. They have fresh breads, jams, and seasonal produce! Whether you're grabbing corn, tomatoes or berries, they have it all. Even though Briermere gets extremely busy, especially right before Thanksgiving, the staff have the whole system down to a science. The traffic can get crazy with so many people picking up their pies, but there are always people out there directing cars, guiding people safely across the parking lot, directing the lines, and keeping everything organized and moving smoothly. It's clear how much they value their customers, even during the rush! Briermere Farms is as much about the memories as it is the pies and treats. If you're anywhere near Riverhead or just looking for the best pies on Long Island, a trip to Briermere should absolutely be on your holiday to-do list!

I don't want to be dramatic but my life changed when I discovered Briermere Farms. I've heard of them for YEARS as the best pie you can get in NY state. As a certified pie-lover, and having been here twice now, I can confirm that I 100% agree. This was DELICIOUS. First of all, almost all the pies I got were even better after a day or two in the fridge. Menu changes daily, you can order ahead as well for pickup. Came around 3pm on a Saturday in October and ordered at the kiosk and they still had everything I wanted. BLUEBERRY PIE - was soooo divine. If it's warm, give it a few hours to cool down. Once it congeals, it is such a treat. It brings me so much joy and I wish I had my fridge stocked constantly with this pie. I also got the BLUEBERRY CRISP PIE literally the next weekend because I was obsessed, and back in the area. Mind you I live in NYC. But I had an opportunity to go back out here and would lie if I didn't say coming back here was part of my decision to do so, The crisp adds such a nice texture, though it is harder/crunchier than you would think, but again, once everything sets and the texture homogenizes a bit in the fridge - even more divine. Also tried the PUMPKIN PIE, APPLE CRISP PIE and they were similarly delicious. The pumpkin pie, though, is not too sweet, and is pumpkin-forward, really honoring the freshness of that pumpkin. The apples are nice and cinnamony and beautifully sweet. My friend got the STRAWBERRY RHUBARB which I found a bit more tart than I prefer, but was still really fresh and enjoyable. It's also not just about the pies. I got their fresh peach juice, a gallon of their apple cider, some of their cookes, and let me tell you that you can just taste how fresh everything is and how much love goes into their products. I also walked away with their apricot jam - and yes, delicious. RUN!! Do not walk. My life is sooooo much better now that Briermere Farms is in my life.

The pros are that it's pretty close to the Riverhead area near the outlets and highways, the bathroom is relatively nice and well maintained, they have a good selection of juice (apple, cherry, peach, raspberry, blueberry), the flower selection is beautiful, and I've heard the pies are very good but haven't tried them. The pumpkin square was pretty good. The cons are that they don't sell pie slices by the slice which is what I was really hoping for, they don't have apple cider donuts, and there is nowhere to sit and eat. The service is kind of rushed and not super friendly. Overall good spot!

Everyone is picking up fruit, begs, flowers, pies at Briermere!'s! If you think you're going to breeze in fast on Sunday In August after 10 and mot have a crowd... well.. forgeddaboudit! Lol Everyone's patient and the line moves reasonably well. Everything is fresh and delicious here - and a mist have if put here. If you don't need A whole apple pie ... they have tartlets - same flakey soft pie crust and Apple inside. This is definitely the place for Long Island's best corn muffin. Ironically they taste even better the next day. It's been said that one of the brothers took a year perfecting the recipe. Heading back with the most indulgent item they have - Strawberry cream pie. And some fresh locally grown plums.

The hype about the most expensive pie is REAL! Peach cream pie was well worth my $48 - I mean, it was literally peaches GALORE! Worth the visit - super organized, friendly staff & delicious options! Oh my! If you don't make the stop here, you're surely missing out!

Stopped by on the way home around 4pm and wanted to pick up one of their peach cream pie. My friend use to always picked one up on the way home from the area but the prices definitely been increasing as more influencers stop by since. I understand, but its pretty hefty for a pie. $50 is alot for a craving. Would be really nice if they can come out with a smaller options that might be in the $15-20 range. 1 star off because the value you get isn't the greatest. Beside that, the line moves fast and the parking was okay (we were lucky). Didnt had time to look at their produce selection that days since I didn't want to miss getting the pie.

The pies from Briermere deserve 5 stars. We have tried over 8 different flavors of pie and each and everyone is worth the trip and the price. They also have a small amount of other baked goods as well as a small amount of locally grown vegetables and flowers that can be purchased. Although parking can sometimes be tricky it is usually pretty quick to open up as the check out line is quick and efficient. They have menu boards posted through out the line so you can get an idea of what you want before checking out. We've tried some other baked goods from them such as cookies, muffins, and other specialty items. Unfortunately these don't fall in the 5 star category. It seems that regardless of the item or flavor it is supposed to be, the taste falls flat in comparison to many other places. If you're going to briermere, skip the other baked goods and go for the pies. They are visually pleasing and the taste is out of the is world. You will not be disappointed in the quality or the selection.

Nice farm stand with great offerings. Pies are amazing and they had great fresh juices. Pricey but the pie was absolutely loaded with fresh fruit. Chocolate cream pie was super tasty as well. Ordering system was efficient and went pretty quickly.

Smaller than what I anticipated. The Apple crisp pie is really really good. Service was very quick. They package the pies very well too. The produce is a bit overpriced overall in my opinion compared to the other farms around.

Their pies are everything! Brought family who have a sweet tooth and were visiting from out of state here and they were windblown. We made a little Long Island Fall day trip out of it by visiting Briermere Farms, local wineries, etc. we had the fresh cream pies and enjoyed it immensely.

Whenever I'm in the area I must stop by for some fresh flowers, jams and baked goods.

I have been hearing about these pies for years and found myself driving right past the farm for work. I immediately parked, there was no line (!!!), and got my raspberry cream pie- everyone I spoke to recommended this particular pie. I think it was $36, kind've steep but when I got home and opened it up OMG. It's prob like $20 in raspberries alone, well worth the price tag. The crust is so buttery, the cream is light and not too sweet and the raspberry top is perfect. Even my dessert picky husband was pleasantly surprised. Definitely coming back and would love to try other pies!

You know the pie is gonna be good when there is a long line. Take it from the Georgia boy. The peaches and cream were delicious.

Ask the Community - Briermere Farms

Has anyone eveer frozen a cream pie? I know they say not to, but I did. Just wondering if anyone's tried and the best way to do it, I thought maybe thawing in the fridge and still eating very cold so the cream doesn't get too runny?

How did this work out???

Are dogs allowed on the premesis?

Out by the front parking lot

Does the apple crisp pie have nuts?

No.

Do they sell gluten free pies?

I am not sure about pies but they do have other edible products that are posted as gluten free like preserves and some other sweets. Give them a call but call early since tgey are strict on closing on time!!

Came here last year during the pandemic after Mother's Day weekend, there were plenty of plants and vegetable plants to choose from. Guess not a lot of people came to buy plants last year so we got a unique items last year including black cherry tomatoes, yellow watermelon, various types of lavenders, and bunch of other plants. We took a chance on a dried up banana tree that was for $10 and gave it as a gift as well as the other items we brought ($4 each, I believe). The tree survived. It's currently thriving and we are waiting for the tree to produce bananas. Last year and this year they also had baby chicks in the greenhouse. It's makes my day to see the chicks and you know it's Springtime. We went again this year after Mother's Day weekend and there were a few places and vegetables available. I picked up lavender grotto ($5), citronella ($5), and some succulents ($10). No dying or last leg plants this year. The choices were more limited since folks came out to buy the fruits and vegetables early this year now that places are opening up again. Guess we need to go early.

I came to Goodale during normal business hours (according to Google anyway) and what I pulled up to looked like an abandoned farm. There was no one to be found anywhere. There was no produce, a few dead plants, a few things that looked like they were going bad in the indoor freezers and refrigerators of this place, some rotting onions and a cash register that was unattended. This all wouldn't be that troubling, but this is a working farm with lots of animals on it, so I wondered how long these guys had been alone for. I took a walk around and everyone seemed to have water at least and some hay that looked decently fresh, but the goats here looked starved for attention. There was some feed left by the front of the store so we threw some in for them. No idea what's going on at this place and whether or not it's actually still running, but it was shocking to see the state this place is in (and surprising to see reviews of people who say they've purchased fresh produce or fresh anything recently).

Have been back a few times since. Once pulled in off the road... its such a lovely country farm with a big enclosed farm stand. Outside find lots of cheerful displays of seasonal farm items. Hay, tractors, pumpkins when in season, flowers and more. They have a nice selection of their own grown fruit and vegetables and carry other local farms produce as well. They have small signs clearly stating local, or "our own" which are always a treat to have direct from the farm. Helen's makes pies too. It's also nearby Brierrmere's down the block. The night before Thanksgiving, Helen's offered an alternative option to the long lines for pies. In summer I once tried a mixed berry pie. This time tried an apple and pumpkin. This was the year for less baking and smaller lines... this made it easy. Much appreciated. Pies seemed not too homemade. Crisp sliced apple with the same gel like cinnamon on most of the apple pies out here. Not too homemade tasting. Seemed more commercial frozen and bake. So for true homemade pies, try nearby Junda's or Briermere. For an ok assortment of grab and go pie, this worked. The lady's are sort of pleasant but leaning more toward efficient and courteous. Not the warmest vibe here on different visits. No one seems genuinely friendly like you might want at a small town shop. Once asked about a pie, and one woman sort of mocked my question joking "its a fruit pie" slightly sarcastic. The cashier on a another visit wouldn't show a pie, by opening a box citing the owners rules. So took my chances. Lol. That shouldn't deter you, its clean, fresh and pretty to look at. A nice stop off when touring at the beginning of the North Fork.
