It had been about 3 years or so since I had the last service done by an oil company I no longer use. I called Bosse, created an appointment on a Saturday (WOW - those appointments usually get filled quick!) and waited for the day to arrive. They were scheduled to arrive between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. They arrived around 8:30 which was perfect. On time. :-) He spent a good portion of the time just vacuuming out all the soot, etc. since it had been so long since I had it cleaned. (Yes, MY fault.) He then replaced the filter, the nozzle, etc and took a final efficiency reading (82% - which is great!) Price was reasonable and I was extremely happy that he took the time to clean it correctly, even though it was my fault it was so dirty. I tried to give him a tip for putting him through that but he wouldn't accept it. So I thought that would be the end of it until next year, when I will hire them to clean it again. I was wrong. Two days later I was doing my monthly sump pump testing (in the same area as the boiler) by filing the sump pit with water from a hose attached to the Amtrol Water Tank Bladder. Well, I opened up the valve too quickly and the water pressure whipped the hose out of the sump pit and it liberally soaked the entire boiler before I could get it shut off (and we're only talking about 2 seconds here). The water must have fried the electronics (the relay unit) because the boiler stopped working. I shut off power, removed the unit and dried as much of it off as I could but it didn't work. My boiler was down for the count. I called Bosse again and explained the situation. They told me that they are super busy and backed up with service calls because winter is approaching. But they would try to get someone out to look at it. About 2 hours later she called back and said they were still looking. Ten minutes later their truck pulled into my driveway! Woo Hoo! They came in and diagnosed it as a bad relay unit due to "water damage" i.e. my fault. We had a chuckle about that and he promptly replaced the unit. All is fine again and the boiler is working perfectly again. And I vowed to never try to wash and wax my boiler again! So two thumbs up to Bosse!

The company has adopted the tech to keep in touch with their customers which makes planning an appointment and the arrival of the work person an excellent experience for the customer. Today I worked with Matt and Giacomo (John) and was not at all surprised that they worked neatly and efficiently. We had them run ethernet cable and remove a EcoFlow product. If I had to guess they will be in business a long time if they keep this level of service and professionalism.

Then he's asking me a bunch of questions about why I'm getting my boiler replaced and it's like dude just tell me how much the replacement is going to be that's all I want to know like you're here to give me a number not an interrogation. Hey then proceeds to ask me when I plan to get it done and I told him 30 days . His response was well why not today . Considering he came in a hatchback I didn't think he was equipped to come to do the job today but I wanted to get it done in 30 days . So I just repeat no 30 days because at this point I am getting frustrated with him . So he repeats why not today . So I hand him his business card back and apologize for him having to come all the way out here and asked him to leave . He tried to give me his card back after I just handed it back to him and asked him to leave and wanted to continue the conversation. I had to basically walk him to his car . My business is not his business I said 30 days I have nobody else that came to give me a quote was so intrusive or invasive and I don't know if it was because he's trying to sell me something or because I'm a woman but it immediately put me off and made me feel very uncomfortable. Thankfully I was able to find a company who can come out when I need them to come out for $3,000 less than their old quote was from 2 years ago . So if you want to be interrogated and overcharged then I guess this is the company for you .

I've only one issue in the distant past with a replaced outdoor spigot that broke after one season, and they came right out, determined that the original part wasn't for outdoor use and replaced at no charge. Reasonable prices and Ron is a wealth of knowledge and experience.
