Buying a new car at Lakeshore was a great experience…read more My last review of a car dealership was super sentimental and drawn out. I think people skip over reviews like that so I will do my best and try and keep to the facts. I am a lover of all things automotive. If money were no object, I would have a fleet of cars, trucks and SUVs. Others may look at cars as practical things to get them from point a to point b, but for me it's way different. Driving is something I must do. I love it. I need it. I dream about it. Ok. So much for not being sentimental. One night I was driving by Lakeshore and saw a car sitting out front. I was impressed by it so I drove down the service road and checked it out. The closer I got the more my jaw was agape and I may have even hugged the car, or worse. I was kind of in the market for a car, but a different model and a different color. There was something about that car though that pulled me in. So I did what any car nut would do and emailed the dealership as soon as I got home. The next day they were open I received an email from Dustin Simms with a quote. Wait, did a dealership really just send me a quote after one email? Hell yeah they did. Not only did they send the quote, but it was incredibly fair. I explained to Dustin that I wa sin the market for a different model, but I did really like his price, and the car. We set up a test drive even though I knew better. After that drive, it was pretty much a done deal. I was hooked. A few days later I brought in my trade and drove the car again. They definitely knew what they were doing giving me those keys. After reviewing my trade they offered me a price and I felt it was low. There was a little back and forth, but ultimately they came up and I feel like I got an incredibly fair deal. There was no high pressure sales techniques and when I said no, they accepted it. Dustin was truly awesome and I enjoyed working with him. I went in a few days ago and picked up my plate and he saw me coming. He greeted me, and made sure I got what I needed even though he didn't need to. I'm very pleased with my car even if it isn't as flashy or cool as my old one. I'm incredibly pleased with this dealership and in particular Dustin Simms. If you're looking for a new or used car, I encourage you to contact him directly. Note: I know I said no sentimental, but trust me, I could've gone way back in to my childhood on this one.

I am the type of person that speed walks past the kiosks in the mall because I don't like pushy…read moresales, so going to car dealerships is kind of an anxiety-driven task for me. I had visited Honda of Slidell twice; the first time was to look at older Honda CR-Vs and the second time to sell Rhonda the Honda. The first time, I made an appointment online and met with one of their sales guys. He was very kind and the test drive was fine, I just didn't love the model of the year I was looking at though it was the year I was in the market for. I didn't receive a copious amount of phone calls following my visit, and I appreciate that the sales guy I had worked with didn't push it with me. As luck would have it, I was able to buy a Honda CR-V from a family member, and needed to get rid of Rhonda the Honda. I had put an Instant Cash Offer request in online and a couple of dealerships popped up for me to have the car inspected with Honda of Slidell being one of them. I was contacted by someone from this location asking if I'd like to set up an appointment and I had one on the books days after I made the request... Now let me tell you a little about Rhonda the Honda, a 2007 Honda Civic that had seen better days. She was in pretty bad shape. I really don't even know how we got it to this location without her kicking the bucket. While I had high hopes of getting a certain amount, I knew in my heart that she wasn't worth much anymore. That being said, John Roberts whom I worked with this time around, still put her through the maintenance check and came to me with the laundry list of issues my ol' Rhonda had, and why it wouldn't be the value I had had in mind. I still felt the need to negotiate a little and he acquiesces, taking my request back to his boss. With a clear explanation, he found a middle ground and we shook on it. To be honest, it's that feeling when you sell your textbooks at the end of the year, and are kind of sad, but also kind of happy to be rid of them. The process was quick, and the check came in no time. John Roberts was very kind, knowledgeable, and not in the least bit "car salesman-y" to me. I had had a guy friend there to help me get a ride back and at no point did John direct the conversation to him which I know is sometimes an issue women have on car lots. So thank you, John, for buying my sweet ol' Rhonda the Honda, and I hope for your continued success at Honda of Slidell.

Expect to walk into closing with one number that you have discussed to find a completely different number in your paperwork. Expect to be overcharged for repairs in service department and be aware that agreed on prices will NOT be the same price you are charged. This dealership gives a bad name to the great name of Honda. I would suggest taking your business elsewhere but if you must, look at all paperwork carefully before signing.
