The tech immediately said he would take a look at it. After a few minutes, he came back and explained that I had a Freon leak and needed to get it serviced for a long term repair. Then offered to fill it for the trip to keep cool in the car. We need more businesses like this in the world. I had my compressor and a few other items changed after multiple conversations with Jim who walked me through different scenarios of replacing different parts. He also was able to send me detailed pictures and comments from his technician via the internet (examples in photos). This made my decision easy to pay to keep this future classic on the road and running well. He also warranties his work,and I received a text thanking me for my business. I called to see when I could get it fixed being that my free time is very limited. Was told only one guy could do a decent alignment job. I went in on the only day I was able to make the drive from Hammond and he just so happen to "drop something on his foot and had to leave" by this time my warranty for the alignmen has expired due to miles and my tires are suffering, I am a broke college student who now will have to pay for another alignment and most likely two new tires sooner than I would have if they could have done there job correct.

Anyways, climbed in my car after the torrential downpour earlier this week only to discover my rear end was SOAKED... My sunroof had leaked and the drivers side was flooded. Great. My dad and I took a look at it, and it looked like dry rot, so we called my usual mechanic to try to schedule an appointment, but after talking to him for a few minutes he said it sounded like the seal needed to be replaced, but they don't do that. I called around to several places in the area & in New Orleans, and either they didn't do the work, they wanted to charge an exorbitant amount of money, or they were Ford and wanted to replace the whole unit because it was a motor problem (a $1200 repair). Finally got a hold of Zoom Tech, and spoke to Austin who got me to come in for them to take a look to see if they could replace it, and they told me it might be a simpler (cheaper), solution, so they convinced me to leave it with them to run some diagnostics. $60ish later, it was a simple cleaning problem. They saved me money AND unnecessary stress, and they even gave me a discount on an oil change (plus checked my brakes/rotated tires/other maintenance inspection). What sets them apart: 1. They listen 2. They don't try to overcharge you or sell you a horse and cart when you just need the cart. 3. They called me before doing ANYTHING, and gave me a detailed work-up of what needed to be done, and how much (right down to the tax!) 4. They checked everything else out on my car and then gave me advice on proper maintenance and things to check regularly to keep from having huge bills down the line 5. They even gave me a ride to work, so I wouldn't be inconvenienced! (It wasn't even necessary, they're just THAT nice). So support your local businesses, especially ethical, family-run, old-fashioned businesses and bring your car here instead of selling your first-born child to the devil, I mean, the dealership.

Just kidding, this thing really is badass and worth every penny. Still, you expect some things. One, the truck is lifted, so it doesn't fit in their wash, which means the truck hasn't been cleaned once by Hood. Not even after delivery. Not even a vaccuum or clean windshield. I hope regular vehicle owners are having a different experience. For an $80k truck and a $180 oil change, surely someone could pass a vacuum and wipe the windows down. My right speaker was blown during one oil-change visit. That took months to fix, and the service guys acted like it was my fault. Guaranteed it was not - the same song was on (Apple Car Play) when I dropped it off and picked it up...that rattle wasn't there before. It was fixed under warranty, but not very nicely. What's up with that, anyway? Why are dealers so upset about warranty work, don't they get paid by GM for that? Either way, warranty or paid work should still be done with the same smile and gratitude, in my opinion. Didn't mean to make the review a bitch session - there's lots to brag about. The shop is clean and well organized, the coffee is hot, and Ms Debbie always has a smile for me. The shuttle drivers are super cool, and I've been fortunate to be the first drop off every time, always making it to work without a hitch. It's an opinion, and not a reflection on this dealer in particular, but I sure do love me some Chevy. I'd buy another car from these guys without hesitation...I'd just be sure to get that carwash/vacuum promise in writing first. :)
