    Buying a new car at Lakeshore was a great experience…read more My last review of a car dealership was super sentimental and drawn out. I think people skip over reviews like that so I will do my best and try and keep to the facts. I am a lover of all things automotive. If money were no object, I would have a fleet of cars, trucks and SUVs. Others may look at cars as practical things to get them from point a to point b, but for me it's way different. Driving is something I must do. I love it. I need it. I dream about it. Ok. So much for not being sentimental. One night I was driving by Lakeshore and saw a car sitting out front. I was impressed by it so I drove down the service road and checked it out. The closer I got the more my jaw was agape and I may have even hugged the car, or worse. I was kind of in the market for a car, but a different model and a different color. There was something about that car though that pulled me in. So I did what any car nut would do and emailed the dealership as soon as I got home. The next day they were open I received an email from Dustin Simms with a quote. Wait, did a dealership really just send me a quote after one email? Hell yeah they did. Not only did they send the quote, but it was incredibly fair. I explained to Dustin that I wa sin the market for a different model, but I did really like his price, and the car. We set up a test drive even though I knew better. After that drive, it was pretty much a done deal. I was hooked. A few days later I brought in my trade and drove the car again. They definitely knew what they were doing giving me those keys. After reviewing my trade they offered me a price and I felt it was low. There was a little back and forth, but ultimately they came up and I feel like I got an incredibly fair deal. There was no high pressure sales techniques and when I said no, they accepted it. Dustin was truly awesome and I enjoyed working with him. I went in a few days ago and picked up my plate and he saw me coming. He greeted me, and made sure I got what I needed even though he didn't need to. I'm very pleased with my car even if it isn't as flashy or cool as my old one. I'm incredibly pleased with this dealership and in particular Dustin Simms. If you're looking for a new or used car, I encourage you to contact him directly. Note: I know I said no sentimental, but trust me, I could've gone way back in to my childhood on this one.

I should have listened to my gut feelings and went to an independent transmission shop. I received an estimate from the sales service associate for the transmission replacement with a very high markup. The final price was significantly higher than the estimate, since it is already overly inflated. Honda of Slidell added freight charge (this isn't included in the price) and other hidden fees which she, Misty, sales service associate, could not explain. It was the typical "Bait and Switch" tactics there dealers utilize. On tip of that, my car is mousing the windshield fuel panel and multiple clips when the transmission was replaced. Lesson learned! I would only recommend taking a Honda to a dealer if it is still under warranty. American Honda considers my car old, so they and Honda of Slidell was not going to assist me for their faulty products. I have five Honda's, with four purchased new. Thanks Honda - so much for customer loyalty and product support. I am beyond disappointed in Honda of Slidell. I will absolutely inform my patients, family, coworkers, friends. Etc about the poor service at Honda of Slidell.

    Warning Internal Fraudulent Practices…read more Just for the record-this is my personal experience and I would hate to see this happen to someone else. I am extremely disappointed and alarmed by what happened at GMC legacy in Slidell, La. A former employee of theirs(my ex husband of approximately 7/8 years) was able to purchase a vehicle in my name -including signing all paperwork without my knowledge or consent. I did not authorize this purchase, nor was I present. I have evidence. Despite no longer working there, this individual exploited the dealership's lax identity-verification process to secure a loan under my Social Security number: As a result, I'm facing: - [ ] A fraudulent auto loan on my credit report. - [ ] Emotional distress and hours lost disputing this crime. I have since filed reports with my local police department , DMV, and I met with the owner Mr Adam Bowen(to give his business the opportunity to make it right, however it was unsuccessful) but GMC Legacy must also be held accountable for allowing an ex -staff member to retain document-signing privileges. Do NOT do business here if you value your personal information. Until they overhaul their security and retrain their staff on proper ID checks, any transaction here puts you at risk of Identity theft.
