Had a wonderful time for Happy Hour at Brickyard in New Gloucester today. $6 cocktails and half price apps. The Bees Knees was delicious. I haven't had a lot of luck with gluten free pizzas but this one was one of the better pies I've had. And I'm pretty particular about my pizza. And as always, great fries. Whether it's having something on my pizza that didn't belong there or it's a completely wrong order or if I order a soup, it doesn't come with a spoon. We've visited Brickyard Hollow a few times while in Maine visiting family, and have always enjoyed the beers and food there. Service is good and they have a surprisingly good selection of vegetarian options. I've enjoyed the veggie burger, but really appreciate the sweet teriyaki bowl with brussel sprouts and tofu. Last time we visited, we stopped in on a Friday night for a quick dinner. There was a musician playing inside all night (I think live music is customary on Friday night) and the sound quality was not great. It wasn't quite too loud to hear each other talk, but loud enough to be a little annoying. The food, drinks, and service were great as always, though, so overall we still had a great time. read more

If you're anywhere near Portland and want pizza that resets the bar, Brickyard Hollow is the stop. The potato, bacon, and shallot pie is one of those "just a slice" pizzas that disappears before you know it. The smoked BBQ pulled pork with Fuji apple and red onion was just as incredible, smoky and sweet in the best way. Our server, who went by Tondo (probably not his real name, but it worked), nailed the balance of checking in and letting us enjoy. He guided us toward the right food and beers without ever overdoing it. That kind of service makes a meal. The beer list is strong, the vibe is rustic, and that's all it needs to be. You don't come here for chandeliers, you come because the pizza is spot-on and the people running the show know what they're doing. We went for dinner at Brickyard Hollow on a Friday night night. They had a man playing country music on guitar that was pretty good. The place was busy, but we got seated pretty quick. The menu is mainly pub grub. I had a Greek salad and extra crispy wings and my husband had a burger. The salad veggies were fresh, but the feta smelled strong like it may have been around a bit longer. The Greek dressing with the salad was more like a raspberry vinaigrette. I would have liked a real Greek dressing more, but this one seemed to be homemade. The wings were good, but they were playing with just some Thai chili sauce. Dumped on them. Without the sauce, they were lacking flavor and the Thai chili sauce was just bottled stuff. My husband really liked his burger. We have been to several of BH's locations and this was consistently good, both with food and service. The vibe here was a bit different, probably due to it's existing format/footprint? The country music blasting was a bit much for us, but at least we could still hear each other in conversation. I just wish there was a bit more variety in the song genre choice. Our server was nice - she was quiet and efficient, which we really appreciate. We were curious about one of the beers and offered us a little taste of it. We had a nice chat with her about it and she mentioned it wasn't being canned just yet. We hope that it does. It was a nice light Belgian lager style of beer, a perfect every day beer. Our food came out in a very timely manner - there were only 3 or 4 tables occupied, so we weren't surprised how quickly the food was ready. The food was very filling. We had the Four Cheese Garlic breadsticks with sauce - we thoroughly enjoyed them. Be warned they are very filling. The sauce was nice, it was a little sweet and savory. The crust was delicious, tender and not too thick or thin. The cheese blend was very good. For our meals we ordered the BH Burger and the Maple Bacon Burger. Both were perfectly cooked - smash burger style. The brioche buns were toasty good and the farm fries - Delicious!!! We loved both of our choices. Because of the appetizer, I had to take half of my burger and fries home. It was a delicious snack the next day. I like how you can pay via QR code at the table if you want. If you do, please please be sure it processes correctly. I had our server double check. Apparently other customers thought they paid and it never processed and the server had to pay for it! Again, please be sure to verify payment with server, or just pay your server directly. I highly recommend this location if you are in the area. We stopped in on 8/17 and left very disappointed. The food may be good, but the service was awful. The restaurant was half empty, yet we were told it would be 10-25 minutes for a table. We were vacationing in the area and stopped in on a Saturday night. There was a lovely singer playing acoustic music on the patio. My husband and I each got a beer- which were delicious. I have to say I am a certified pizza snob. I didn't have high expectations going to Brickyard, but was pleasantly surprised by a very hot thin crust well cooked pizza. My dining companions also had pizzas and all of them looked great. We did have a couple of appetizers the bacon cheese fries were a bit too greasy for me, but the pretzel sticks were really good, I paired my pizza with a Pub Ale, a nice compliment to a pizza without a lot of alcoholic punch. The only blip in the road was service, and I think it was more about one waitress for a fairly crowded dining room on a Monday night, as opposed to lack of ability. Overall, it was a good experience and will definitely be trying the Portland location soon read more

Great spot, with inside seating a bar and lots of outside seating. A cool spot to grab a beer and sit outside. I got the chicken sandwich and my friend got a pizza and both were really good. It was super busy on a Sunday and would have had to wait for a table so just got take out and sat at their picnic tables, which is more outside seating but you don't have a server. I used a promotional coupon that came in the mail from B.H. Buy a large pizza get one small pizza free. The $18.75 large cheese pizza I got was ok, after I used 9 napkins to soak up the grease. The free small pizza was a ricotta, spinach and garlic pizza. It had very little spinach, ricotta or garlic. It was tasty, but not worth the $15.75 they charge if you buy it. We have enjoyed Brickyard Hollow many times at other locations. Went in for lunch today at the location in New Gloucester, at first it was slow, but became busier as we sat and waited and waited for our 3 small pizzas. We watched other tables come and go and our server never came back with our food or to check on us. Over an hour after I ordered I went to the hostess and asked for the check for our drinks. Not all Brickyard Hollows are created equal. We have been long time Freeport and Yarmouth customers. We wanted burgers and live about halfway between the New Gloucester and Yarmouth locations and thought we would like to try the newer one. We were very sorry that we didn't go to Yarmouth. While our server was great and the wings were good the burgers were barely edible. I know the menu says well done, but we've never had meat so dry and tasteless in Yarmouth. The buns had butter that didn't taste good and I didn't even eat mine. I had to drown my burger in sauce to be able to eat it. The fries were cold so I sent them back and got more that were hot, but they weren't good. I don't think the oil was clean or hot enough. The floor was covered with smooshed food and discarded napkins. We will continue to patronize Yarmouth and Freeport, but will not be back the New Gloucester location. read more

Gave a call to Brickyard Hollow deciding to give them another try. We called asking if they had any dark beers on tap. I was told told they have a chocolate coffee porter on tap. We stopped by a half hour later and we were given a dunkelweizen when we asked for the porter. Told the bar tender and waitress it was awful and didn't seem like the right color. They bartender told me he loved it and he could taste the chocolate and coffee. We left after one and talked to the head brewer who said they have no porter or stouts on tap. I guess if you don't have it just make something up. Off to Mast Landing instead at least the staff know what they have on tap. If your in the area head to Brickyard Hollow down the road better beer and food. read more

So my best friend and I have been here twice and both times had the same waitress but our two experiences could not have been more different. The first time, we were tended to quickly and provided delicious food. The second time, we were blatantly ignored. Several waitresses working but all avoided eye contact. All of the tables outside were dirty so we waited patiently for our table to be cleaned. A waitress came out, avoided eye contact and cleared a different table. Another waitress came out and handled the table to the left of us. Again, no eye contact, no nothing. A third came out and tended to the table behind us. Again ignored. After sitting at the filthy table about 10 minutes being completely ignored, we moved to the cleaned table and flagged down the third waitress who said she would get our waitress. The second waitress came back after waiting another 5 or so minutes. I want to be clear, this place was NOT busy. There was one couple inside and two other tables beside us. Had to ask for silverware, napkins, refills on our water. Once dinner was over, we sat there again for close to 20 min being ignored waiting for the check. Finally we flagged waitress three who said she would get our waitress. She came back, without our waitress and gave us our check. We would have liked it split but at this point I just wanted out of there. Please train your waitresses that they need to be attentive to the needs of their patrons. I did tip, about 12%-- I've never had such poor service in an establishment clearly not busy in a long time. read more

Stopped by here for a quick beer some pizza in a few wings. The beer was delicious. The pizza and wings were good as well just what you'd expect from Brickyard Hollow. The staff was very friendly as well. The location in New gloucester is just what the town needed. There's room outside on the back deck If the weathers nice. they are dog friendly in outside areas. They also have a Disc Golf Net some corn hole boards and plenty of seating. Great spot to spend some time and enjoy a summer afternoon or evening. read more
