We've visited Brickyard Hollow a few times while in Maine visiting family, and have always enjoyed the beers and food there. Service is good and they have a surprisingly good selection of vegetarian options. I've enjoyed the veggie burger, but really appreciate the sweet teriyaki bowl with brussel sprouts and tofu. Last time we visited, we stopped in on a Friday night for a quick dinner. There was a musician playing inside all night (I think live music is customary on Friday night) and the sound quality was not great. It wasn't quite too loud to hear each other talk, but loud enough to be a little annoying. The food, drinks, and service were great as always, though, so overall we still had a great time.

Stopped by after hiking. Nice place to get in, out of the weather. Numerous beer options - went for the flagship (thistle) which didn't disappoint. The harvest salad was delicious, as was the pulled pork pizza. I love the thin crust. Seated immediately. Plenty of parking. Picnic tables for that nice day. Quick and friendly service.

I think I'm over this place. Still a great location to meet up with friends, but the beer is just meh, and the menu never changes and service on Tuesday wasn't great either.

We went for dinner at Brickyard Hollow on a Friday night night. They had a man playing country music on guitar that was pretty good. The place was busy, but we got seated pretty quick. The menu is mainly pub grub. I had a Greek salad and extra crispy wings and my husband had a burger. The salad veggies were fresh, but the feta smelled strong like it may have been around a bit longer. The Greek dressing with the salad was more like a raspberry vinaigrette. I would have liked a real Greek dressing more, but this one seemed to be homemade. The wings were good, but they were playing with just some Thai chili sauce. Dumped on them. Without the sauce, they were lacking flavor and the Thai chili sauce was just bottled stuff. My husband really liked his burger. We would be back again when in the area, but wouldn't search it out, although not many options in New Gloucester.

We have been to several of BH's locations and this was consistently good, both with food and service. The vibe here was a bit different, probably due to it's existing format/footprint? The country music blasting was a bit much for us, but at least we could still hear each other in conversation. I just wish there was a bit more variety in the song genre choice. Our server was nice - she was quiet and efficient, which we really appreciate. We were curious about one of the beers and offered us a little taste of it. We had a nice chat with her about it and she mentioned it wasn't being canned just yet. We hope that it does. It was a nice light Belgian lager style of beer, a perfect every day beer. Our food came out in a very timely manner - there were only 3 or 4 tables occupied, so we weren't surprised how quickly the food was ready. The food was very filling. We had the Four Cheese Garlic breadsticks with sauce - we thoroughly enjoyed them. Be warned they are very filling. The sauce was nice, it was a little sweet and savory. The crust was delicious, tender and not too thick or thin. The cheese blend was very good. For our meals we ordered the BH Burger and the Maple Bacon Burger. Both were perfectly cooked - smash burger style. The brioche buns were toasty good and the farm fries - Delicious!!! We loved both of our choices. Because of the appetizer, I had to take half of my burger and fries home. It was a delicious snack the next day. I like how you can pay via QR code at the table if you want. If you do, please please be sure it processes correctly. I had our server double check. Apparently other customers thought they paid and it never processed and the server had to pay for it! Again, please be sure to verify payment with server, or just pay your server directly. I highly recommend this location if you are in the area. They have a big dinning area and a wonderful outdoor patio area with sail covers. and Plenty of parking - yay!

On our way back from a fundraiser and stumbled upon Brickyard Hollow.first impressions of the exterior and interior is superb! We opted for the breadsticks, wings (of course) with Nashville hot sauce, a salad and pizza. All our food was top notch! Crispy crusts, fresh veggies and really good Service is excellent!

I have to say I am a certified pizza snob. I didn't have high expectations going to Brickyard, but was pleasantly surprised by a very hot thin crust well cooked pizza. My dining companions also had pizzas and all of them looked great. We did have a couple of appetizers the bacon cheese fries were a bit too greasy for me, but the pretzel sticks were really good, I paired my pizza with a Pub Ale, a nice compliment to a pizza without a lot of alcoholic punch. The only blip in the road was service, and I think it was more about one waitress for a fairly crowded dining room on a Monday night, as opposed to lack of ability. Overall, it was a good experience and will definitely be trying the Portland location soon

Great spot, with inside seating a bar and lots of outside seating. A cool spot to grab a beer and sit outside. I got the chicken sandwich and my friend got a pizza and both were really good. It was super busy on a Sunday and would have had to wait for a table so just got take out and sat at their picnic tables, which is more outside seating but you don't have a server. Overall all the food looked great and it's a nice sport for the area

I was really excited for Brickyard to move into this spot, it's nearly in my backyard! Although there is a limited food menu, the food is consistent and the prices are reasonable. However, I had hoped the pub would have been more inviting. The space seems to lack personality and warmth.....especially on a cold night!

I was honestly shocked to see a real veggie option on the menu that wasn't a veggie burger (although they have that too), so I had to try the chimichurri tofu. It was cooked well - 4 slices cut thin enough to give it a good crispy exterior. The chimichurri sauce was tasty. However, it feels like whoever created this dish has never cooked with tofu before or at least not very much. My suggestion would be marinating the tofu before cooking. The chimichurri made it somewhat enjoyable (I did finish it all!) but the flavor dissolves quickly as you chew through the tofu. I think marinating it will really seal the deal on that dish. Otherwise, the service was great, very friendly and very prompt. The building is quaint and bigger than it looks from the outside. I think my entree was a little overpriced for what I got at $23, but I digress. I see the vision and wish them success.

But it wasn't all bad--I'll start with the positives! The staff were great--super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I also enjoyed the fries, which were plentiful, and the pomegranate blonde ale, which was very refreshing. Although we didn't play, I was happy to see a stack of games on the bar. We were seated upstairs at the recommendation of the hostess. The decor was a little dated but it gave me a cozy and nostalgic feel. Now to the not-so-positives. I ordered the caprese sandwich and in the first bite, I was alarmed to feel something hard, sharp, and un-chewable. Confused, I had to fish whatever it was out of my mouth and found a small piece of what felt like some kind of wood. I realized after a couple minutes that it was the same color and texture as the toothpicks that held the sandwich together. I'm not sure how it got in my mouth--maybe a piece broke off in the kitchen and got stuck in or on the sandwich--but it was the first bite and I wasn't anywhere near where the toothpicks stabbed the sandwiches. Luckily that was the only splintered piece I found in my food, but I was very cautious for the rest of the meal. Honestly, if not for this, this probably would have been a 4-star review, but it put me a little on edge for the rest of the experience. The sandwich itself was decent--the bread was a little charred, but I actually kind of prefer that myself. Caprese sandwiches are always simple and good, as long as the ingredients are decent. The worst part for me was the price. I'm happy to pay a little extra for a great meal, but $18 for a caprese sandwich feels steep. I'm not from around here, so maybe this is normal in these parts where there are limited dinner options. My wife's tofu dinner was $23 for a small portion--back home we could get twice as much tofu for half the price. I always thought city life was more expensive, but I've learned my lesson here!

No question there is something for everyone. So happy to have more food items to choose from to go with the beers. A nice assortment of options at a reasonable price point. I had a Rueben panini with kettle chips, which was satisfying. My friend has the Birchwood Signature Soft Pretzel that is made with spent grain from the beer production and served with warm beer cheese, which also was decent. A standout was the server - Ella Q - she was super helpful at explaining the menu, flights, and was so pleasant! Knew just when to check in, and when to give us space. Bottom line - a solid local option for food & beer with great service on this particular evening, and live music on some nights. Grab your friends, have a flight or a pint, some food, and be happy that this option is available in Gray.

It's incredibly inviting. I loved the artwork, the dim lighting, and the overall cabin-in-the-woods vibe. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming. I started with old scratch, a chocolate chili imperial stout. This was my favorite of all of their beers and the chili was just a hint, not too much to overwhelm wonderful Coco and vanilla flavors. My wife started with Bellweather, just a light easy drinking lager. I also enjoyed the oatmeal stout, which was brewed with British molasses to give it a richer flavor than one might find in normal stouts. My wife also enjoyed light some a blueberry lemon weisse beer. It's a sour weed out with hints of blueberry and lemon. The hard soda was a good finish - refreshing and tasty - especially enjoyed the lemongrass, cardamom tangerine flavors, but I didn't think it was just a bit too sweet for my liking. The brewery donates a certain amount of profits to local charities, and their customers help choose them - they give each customer a chip, and you put it in one of two bottles for the months chosen charities, and then that determines the proportion each charity gets of the total to be donated - - - - pretty cool I definitely recommend the giant soft pretzel with the beer cheese, nice and hot and goes well with any of the beers The Italian sausage grinder was tasty and good, but I thought that the chicken Parmesan sub was not particularly great - some pretty average chicken tenders were used rather than finding really good chicken tenders or a grilled a chicken breast. Might be worth upgrading this to match the wonderful beers.

I love a place that will allow you to order all flats, I will happily pay extra for all flats. I won't even entertain eating the upper part of the wing, too many things happening up there. I always order my wings as chicken, flavored sawdust. I've had salmonella more than once from chicken wings, but I love them too much to stop eating them. These were cooked perfectly! The burger on special was a two patty smash burger with grilled pineapple pickle onions, and a sweet Thai chili aïoli. I added fresh jalapeño and got the aïoli on the side because I wanted to see what it was like. I was really happy. I got it on the side because there was flavorless. It was basically mayonnaise that they mixed sweet Thai sauce with and called aïoli. Also, if it's a sauce that I don't know, I don't trust it, I don't want it on anything before I try it. I think that should be like rule of thumb. But the burger was awesome, I got it with dirty sweet potato fries. Which means I put some Cajun seasoning on it so it had that sweet, salty, spicy element that I love so much. They also have this delicious French pear martini on the specials menu. It was fantastic, it was fresh, bright, not overbearing. I hope that stays on the menu for a minute because it was LOVELY. And I took home a cute little dessert sampler that probably could've done without all the whipped cream over the little dessert squares, but my boys loved them!!
