Very cool place, been through this area a lot and finally stopped in for lunch. Very friendly staff, ambiance is neat, corn hole, huge bar. The food was very good some of the best chicken tendies I've had in this state! Can't wait to try the happy hour deals and wings.

Stopped in with my husband and FIL. Great selection of beers and interesting cocktails. Service was slow. Waitress was pleasant but our food took a long time. It was cold when it arrived. Couldn't eat the fries or sweet potato fries. Cold and soggy. The Brussel Sprouts were good but again cold. Short on staff? We asked if one of the TVs could show the Patriots game. First person told us - NO. While the rest of the TVs were showing wrestling- we asked one more time - nicely. One TV was switched to the Chiefs and Cardinals. Well better than wrestling. Busy but should be expected on a Saturday night. Disappointed.

Headed back to Augusta after church and swung through to get lunch here. We always love seeing a staff that works well together and just collaborated to deliver service. Well done to Adrianna and the young lady that was helping her. While we didn't get beer, we did get into some food. The Banh Mi is one of the most refreshing sandwiches I have ever had and the wings were exceptional. My only complaint was that the coleslaw needed some more seasoning and there was no salt/pepper on the table to let me handle that. The Soft Preztel is one of the best I have ever had and you will not regret it (I did mustard with mine which was a great choice). Good place, glad we stopped.

Great place to go service was excellent!! If you're a beer person definitely the place you want to go! The building is in a beautifully restored mill.. The food great normal bar food with a twist here and there. The fries aren't the best they remind me of the long John silvers French fries I think they would do better with a nice seasoned fries. Fried pickles were fantastic!! Look forward to going back and trying some other items on the menu!!

Finally made it to the Pub and it did not disappoint. The beer is great and large selection of their tried and true as well as new beers. The food is also a great mix. We had a couple sandwiches and they have great added options for jazzing up your fries. Lots of flavor all around. Highly recommend.

Food is nothing to brag about, beer is worse than food. Beautiful establishment, could use more TVs and play some sports. Get servers some cheat cards so they know the specials. Add a variety of beers that are not made here.

I enjoy myself a good Brew Pub and Maine seems to see these type of establishments popping up more and more each year. If you are into the industrial style decor with a brick wall structure and old-mill stylings you will enjoy the environment that The Pub at Baxter offers. They are located in the downtown part of Boston directly behind Mill #3 building. If you are entering from Chestnut (next to DaVinci's) continue between Mill building #3 and #7 and you will see a heavy duty iron fence as their entrance. There is plenty of road parking and the parking structure is also available. When you open the heavy gate, you walk up a small path that leads up to the entrance. They do have outside seating available during non-inclement weather days. Once inside you immediately recognize the mill style with the addition of industrial fixtures, wooden tables and steel chairs. At the time I went half the restaurant was occupied and noise level was fairly reasonable considering the high ceilings. They do have quite a beer selection and I chose to go with the Coreflight which gives me a 5 beer sampling of: Einstein, Maine Lager, Hop Tryst IPA, Stowaway and the Per Diem. I am more of light beer type guy so the Einstein, Hop Tryst and the Maine Lager were my favorites. Stowaway was good as well. I am not a big on the darker beers so the Per Diem porter was a bit on the bitter side for me. Their food selection is limited and has some appetizers, sandwiches, burger and salads. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was a bit on the small side for $12. It was Caroline pulled pork on a brioche roll with slaw on top of the pork. The brioche role was a bit on the greasy side to the touch. The pulled pork was dry as they give you the Carolina sauce on the side. You definitely have to add the sauce otherwise the pulled pork is a difficult chew. The slaw was lightly dressed and lacked salt and pepper. The one thing that blew me away though was their sweet potato tots. I could eat those by the barrel. I have had sweet potato fries in the past, but these had the subtle sweetness, but the saltiness to make you want more. Add a little hot sauce on them and forget about it, I am done! Overall, the Pub at Baxter has a great atmosphere, great selection of beers on tap, but small menu. If you are going to offer a small menu, you better deliver on size and quality with the food. That is where Baxter fell short was on portion size and quality of the food. I will go back just for the tots, but I will try one of their other main dishes to see if there is a pattern on portion size and quality.

I love a place that will allow you to order all flats, I will happily pay extra for all flats. I won't even entertain eating the upper part of the wing, too many things happening up there. I always order my wings as chicken, flavored sawdust. I've had salmonella more than once from chicken wings, but I love them too much to stop eating them. These were cooked perfectly! The burger on special was a two patty smash burger with grilled pineapple pickle onions, and a sweet Thai chili aïoli. I added fresh jalapeño and got the aïoli on the side because I wanted to see what it was like. I was really happy. I got it on the side because there was flavorless. It was basically mayonnaise that they mixed sweet Thai sauce with and called aïoli. Also, if it's a sauce that I don't know, I don't trust it, I don't want it on anything before I try it. I think that should be like rule of thumb. But the burger was awesome, I got it with dirty sweet potato fries. Which means I put some Cajun seasoning on it so it had that sweet, salty, spicy element that I love so much. They also have this delicious French pear martini on the specials menu. It was fantastic, it was fresh, bright, not overbearing. I hope that stays on the menu for a minute because it was LOVELY. And I took home a cute little dessert sampler that probably could've done without all the whipped cream over the little dessert squares, but my boys loved them!! Great place for lunch, really cool location, relaxed feel, don't forget to check out the little waterfall!!

It took about ten minutes to receive two beers and an appetizer, and there were no plates or silverware until we asked. The bartender never checked in or followed up, even when another guest nearby gave up after being ignored. The food was poor (overcooked), but the lack of basic hospitality made the entire experience feel uninviting. The food typically is average. Bartender spends her time on other employees who are eating. There have been multiple similar experiences with this bartender. The simplest way to ruin a bar is when this happens...patterns of slow service, poor communication, or unprofessional behavior that keep repeating. Same staff, languishing customer volume.

Fresh and hot defined these apps perfectly! The sticks were warm and stringy, the pretzels were warm, soft, and salty. The cheese dip was actually delicious and tasted nothing like a can mix. For the main courses we had the home made mac and cheese that was topped with pulled pork which was sauced in Sweet Baby Rays and the Loaded Nachos topped with the Firehouse's award winning chili. The food all came out sized for a table of 8 with savory and sweet hints of deliciousness! The waitress was welcoming, outgoing, and offered sound advice on food choices. The cook staff was timely and efficient, and the bar tender was busy busy slinging cups full of the nectar of God (BEER!!)! The Firehouse House ambience lived up to the name with firefighter equipment, first responder memorabilia, and crafty decor. The only downside to this establishment is that is dark and throws a dive bar vibe. 9/10... we will be coming back here for sure (and ordering less food)!!

I would love to know where they get the decor for this place. I'd imagine a lot of flea markets (fabulous ones)?
