The bar, minus the barstools, thanks to coronavirus.

Although this place has been around for a couple of years this was our first trip. This basement pub has a very trendy vibe. They had a great specialty drink list. The beer list was small but they had a few very good selections. I guess that's all you need really. We were here pretty early in the evening And had most of the place to ourselves, but they seem to have a few regulars hanging around. The waitstaff and bartenders were very attentive and happily answered questions about their menu and their place. We opted for a snack of hand cut french fries with garlic aïoli mayo. These fries were divine! Their menu is pretty small overall, though. Free Wi-Fi. Lots of outlets. If they were open earlier in the day I might try to work from here sometime.

This is the "Somewhere Not Here" urban elixirrrrr.. next up, one of everything!

Ok ok.. I AM SORRY. I started this review months ago and after dropping my sister off (designated driving saves lives y'all!!!) I finally decided I needed to write my review. Yelper Fail!! First of all, the place is cute - in a very Wednesday Addams kind of way. Like, don't we all wanna be dark and moody and witty and well crafted? Even for a little while? Well if not, just don't go. Because that's exactly what this place is. A dark, moody, witty, well crafted... I wanna say bar- but it's more. Not quite a full on restaurant. Not a night club, but they do jam at night. A gathering spot. A watering hole. This is a small place. Quality over quantity. The kitchen is basically open to the bar. The bar is basically the whole joint. The whole joint is in the basement of a building. You could easily miss it. But, don't miss it. Go with a laid back crowd. Enjoy the heck out of their fabulous drinks. Get a bite to eat. My sis goes all the time and gets grilled cheese and booze. What a combo, amirite? I can't even remember what all we got to eat when I went, but the fact that I have repeatedly said "Al, write that dang review!" It's enough to make me go back and get more food and take good pictures and write good words. What I DO remember: chef: SUPER attentive. Hand delivered LOTS of food to LOTS of tables. Delivered silverware and napkins. (If you know how kitchens work you know that DOESN'T HAPPEN. He's a UNICORN.) bartender(s): well rounded, a loud one, a quiet one. Both knew the drinks without looking at the menu, didn't need to use a recipe book and made multiple drinks at once all while tending the whole joint. atmosphere: it reminds me of a deep conversation, does that make sense? If not.. just go see. It's kinda like.. the Addams Family meets the Central Perk, minus the coffee and the tv references. Just go.

Since the Blue Feather opened, my husband and I have tried our best to sneak out for a date night whenever our son is with his grandparents. Their craft cocktails are always interesting and well-balanced; I've yet to have one I don't enjoy. Needless to say, check out The Blue Feather. The cheesesteak definitely tasted like steakums, ya know that pre sliced stuff in the frozen section. The bus was too large for the amount of meat given, but the bread was good. The service was slow for how dead it was, the bartender was good for daytime service, nice guy, but I'd hate to see how that panned out on a busy night. Great space, nice decor, lighting, very clean. Lots of potential, several places have failed in this spot, hopefully they work the kinks out. (I didn't eat the other items pictured)

Fresh and hot defined these apps perfectly! The sticks were warm and stringy, the pretzels were warm, soft, and salty. The cheese dip was actually delicious and tasted nothing like a can mix. For the main courses we had the home made mac and cheese that was topped with pulled pork which was sauced in Sweet Baby Rays and the Loaded Nachos topped with the Firehouse's award winning chili. The food all came out sized for a table of 8 with savory and sweet hints of deliciousness! The waitress was welcoming, outgoing, and offered sound advice on food choices. The cook staff was timely and efficient, and the bar tender was busy busy slinging cups full of the nectar of God (BEER!!)! The Firehouse House ambience lived up to the name with firefighter equipment, first responder memorabilia, and crafty decor. The only downside to this establishment is that is dark and throws a dive bar vibe. 9/10... we will be coming back here for sure (and ordering less food)!!

I don't know if they stepped up their game, if last time I was here was an off day or if my man in the kitchen has anything to do with it. But this place lives in a while different place in my brain. Apps Asparogi Avvolti: Prosciutto wrapped asparagus with fontina cheese and balsamic glaze. Sweet young asparagus, wrapped in salty prosciutto with nutty fontina melted over the topped, drizzled with the perfect about if sweet glaze. Fried Calamari: calamari, fried cherry peppers, arugula, and cherry pepper aïoli. Fresh, breading was light and crispy. My only complaint here is there weren't enough tentacles, a lot of rings. I usually only eat tentacles because the rings are usually close cousins to rubber bands. That was not the case here, but I still wanted more tentacles. Either way very delicious. Main Brick Oven Brie Pizza!! Amazing, they crossed perfect, light chewy cooked through, not soggy in the middle. Everything you want out of pizza crust. I find myself constantly disappointed in the Lewiston Auburn area when it comes to pizza. The brick and wooden beam architecture from the old milll remains which provides such an aesetically pleasing atmosphere. It is great that this building has been able to be repurposed . We sat at the bar which is a full bar. My son dines here often and recommened some dishes he had tried. There were many dishes on the menu I wanted to try! Garlic knots were the first things out and they were very tasty and addictive. My son decided on the linguini carbonara, although not a classic carbonara dish, it remains one of his favorites. I tried it and it was creamy, indulgent, fresh, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. I chose the gnocchi with in house made bolognese sauce topped with ricotta cheese. I loved it and it tasted even better heated up the next day. Entrees come with a choice of soup or salad; he went with the salad and I had the homemade Italian wedding soup. We were both pleased with our choices. The portions were quite generous, service was on point all evening, and the entire establishment and restrooms were immaculately clean and well organized. Large parking lot, but heard it fills up fast at this popular spot. I highly recommend and look forward to returning.

Our waitress never once checked on us--we had to flag her down every single time, which made ordering drinks and food a chore rather than a relaxing night out. But honestly, the worst part of the night wasn't even the service. It was the fact that a couple brought their newborn to the bar and stayed from 8 PM to midnight. With loud music blasting, they passed the baby around and parade it around on the dance floor, never feeding the child once, but had no problem changing it on the air hockey table. It was disturbing to watch, and frankly, it made the entire atmosphere uncomfortable. A bar is no place for a newborn, especially late at night in that kind of environment. The only saving grace of the night was the band, Trans Am--they were absolutely phenomenal. They put on a great performance, but unfortunately, the energy in the bar was completely off. Nobody was dancing or really engaging with the music, which was a shame because they deserved a much better crowd. If management allows this kind of thing to happen, I don't see myself coming back.
