Great newer brewery. Worth the stop! The inside is beautiful. Beer selection is smaller but everyone we tried was wonderful. Owner was also lovely.

Great beer! Love the atmosphere as well. A little Midcoast gem worth a detour. Please keep brewing!

Visited here while I was traveling in Maine and the beer was unique and really good. You can tell the owner cares a lot about what he brews

Plenty of space and ample lighting as well! My personal favorite on the menu is their pizza! It's very good and quality ingredients. It is certainly made with love. You can certainly tell. The service is also a key Point, as I am always served with a smile. If you ever have a chance to go here, you won't be let down.

We were not sure about the ordering process, and after a few minutes started trying to find the pub website and look for a menu. Eventually a menu was brought to our table, and we put in an order for beer. Turns out, half of the items on the menu were not available. When we did figure out an order, more items were made not available. We settled on a NY style pizza. We did not get the toppings we ordered. Good news: the crust was very good, and worth another try! Even the leftovers were delicious the next day - not all pizza can do that. They do not know how to pour a Guinness - which is too bad, because that is a favorite beer of ours. We switched to another tap and had a local red. The tap selection is decent. The place has a very casual atmosphere, and many locals come and go and seem to have great conversation and know each other's business. Overall, a place with great potential, especially for regulars. Hopefully, another visit will be more successful for exploring the menu which sounds good.

Crock of onion soup is made with Beal broth and was super delicious. My wife had the Waldorf salad and she loved it - she said the dressing needed something, probably salt. But every restaurant in Boothbay had over an hour wait, and I can confidently say I am SO glad we couldn't get a reservation anywhere else because it led us here. We got a reservation right away, were seated early, and everything from start to finish was incredible. The food tasted so fresh and flavorful, the drinks were amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect . Cozy but still lively with live music. Truly one of those places where nothing misses. I'm from out of state and already planning to come back next year just to eat here again. I honestly can't say enough good things about Montsweag. So worth the drive and then some!

**November 2025: Friday Early Afternoon Visit**…read more My friend and I were wandering Wiscasset and were in need of a restroom. We couldn't find one and decided to dine in to use their facilities. I think we were among the first diners and realized that the restaurant was really nice and had such a wonderful view of the water. Our server was incredibly kind and hospitality. She informed us that the soup of the day was clam chowda to which both of us wanted right away. The chowda was flavorful and had a good amount of clams (many other restaurants choose to load it with potatoes, but not this one!). The soup does lean more brothy versus gravy-like which is a personal preference but taste wise it was still soothing. The menu had a lot of really great seafood options so I decided to try their Maine mussels. Our waitress said that the broth was really wonderful and would pair nicely with garlic bread which I also ordered. The entrees came out pretty quickly and the serving size of my mussels was double what I thought it would be. The mussels looked massive and the meat was as fresh mussels should taste. It was an excellent dish. The garlic bread would be a great vessel to soak up the mussel broth, but I felt that the bread was a little thin and slightly over-toasted to really soak up the broth. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the overall experience and it does feel like a local spot.
