Yummy pineapple-tasting "Kiki" ale. Highly recommend. - A tulip-shaped beer glass filled with a light yellow, cloudy ale labeled 'MODERATION,' placed on a wooden table inside a brewery or bar.

Nice selection of beers on tap in a friendly, well-lit pub with seating out front, inside, and out back. We tried 4 beers--a pineapple ale, a lime gose, an amber, and an IPA. All were delicious!

What a beautiful little surprise of a brewery! It was brighter than most breweries are and had a sort of coffee shop feel- very airy and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised as to how many stouts they included in the flight, since many places include 0-1. The names are great too- one of my favorites was a Janet Mills themed "Inaugur- ale"! Other favorites of mine in the flight were the Boxshopgirls and Blue. We came in the day after Valentine's Day, and they were offering a free truffle of your choice with every flight, which was a great touch! I noticed that they also serve other snacks, which is always a great thing to offer at a brewery.

Moderation Brewing is the new game in town. Housed in the oldest building that side of Maine Street in downtown Brunswick. It has six beers available right now. The atmosphere is spartan, clean, Scandinavian. The decor is not overwhelming, instead a cross between a museum and Ikea showroom; more bare walls space than decoration, more golden wood and minimalistic furniture. The lighting that hangs from the ceiling was original to the building, found in a closet during renovations. The owners have taken careful consideration in choice of decor, harkening back in time with elements that add to the environment and overall feel of the establishment. A beautiful wooden bar is the focal point of the room, with enough space for five or six people. There are a few tables which seat four. A small seating area up front can hold about 8-9. There are two restrooms. To the back of the room is the brewing space. Clean, sparkling, polished stainless equipments reminds you that this is a brewery. The space is different than most breweries. The conventional brick and exposed wood or hip, quirky, electric style abandoned for a more tidy look. The decor and space has a Scandinavian influence. The wall paper behind the bar reminiscent of patterns I found through my travels of that region and Finland. A small chalk board lists the beers. The tap handles are carved wood, the grain and striations popping through amber stain. Some kettle cooked potato chips are for sale. It is hard and sometimes seems unfair to review a brewery as they first open. It is difficult to rate beer when there are over a hundred breweries and brewpubs in the state of Maine. To stand out, you must be spectacular. With that said, I don't think the beer was spectacular, it fell short. Six beers are on tap, and I tried all six: 1.) Farmor: Norweigan Farmhouse 3.9% 2.) First One: Pale Ale 5.5% 3.) Noble Red: 5.4% 4.) Pat: Norweigan IPA 6% 5.)Happy Prince: Dry Irish Stout 4.3% 6.) Box Shop Girls: Breakfast Stout 6.5% As I tried the flight, I went down the line. Farmor, First One, Noble Red all tasted very similar. I felt there was very little flavor different from one to the other. Yes, I could tell they were different, but each had a bitter, sulfur aftertaste that I thought was reminiscent of a Corona. I was not a fan at all. The first two are a pale yellow. The Noble Red is a cloudy red, with very little malt flavor profile. The Pat was good, but still, that aftertaste. I don't want my IPAs to be hop-bombs, there is no skill in throwing hops at something until it is dank. This lacked. Lacked hop, lacked malt, it seemed weak. I am a huge fan of stouts. I expected more. Happy Prince was ok, but lacked body and substance. Again, flavor profile lacked. Box Shop Girls was extremely disappointing. I love breakfast stouts. I've drank so many. This fell so short of a breakfast stout. Again, like the Irish stout, the body wasn't there. It was watery. The head of the beer weak and fizzled away after a few minutes. The taste was the best out of the six, but still didn't impress.

A quaint yet surprising brewery we stumbled upon in downtown. We were greeted with warm welcome and sampled a few delicious beers before settling on a pint of our choice. The employees are very nice and upon receiving our drinks we walked out to the beer garden outback which had great seating!! The beer is phenomenal and we will definitely be returning!

Cool place for a relaxing drink. Atmosphere is chill, not to loud, and the flight is a good deal. I would come back if I lived in the area.

Very good beer that is brewed on-site. Friendly staff and fun atmosphere, which is also kid and pet friendly.

Service has always been consistently great. Friendly, prompt, detail oriented and caring about our experience. We have never had a bad interaction with any of the staff members. They are hardworking customer focused team. Good with children and elderly folks. The food has been consistently good, temperature, quantity, flavors, textures and presentation. We have tried their burgers, pizza, bowls and appetizers. We really like their brussels sprouts, including our 3 and 6 year old family members. There's a wonderful sweet savory flavor, a nice crisp to the outside and very tender inside. The burgers and fries are very satisfying and flavorful. Most recently I discovered (realized) you can add mac and cheese to a burger. It was yummm!!! The wings, are plentiful, crispy and juicy. Be careful, because the internal temperature is VERY HOT when they first arrive. The past few times we have been the restaurant was very comfortable, not too cold or too hot. They have the ability to accommodate the 6 of us with ease on the times we have gone. This is definitely one of the core options when we are in town. Great for our whole family.

I took my wife and daughters here for cocktails to celebrate the holiday weekend. Despite a restaurant/bar that was fairly empty, it was impossible to get any member of the staff to acknowledge we were there. Once served, the drinks were excellent but it would be a very long time before anyone returned. Despite all four of us sitting with empty glasses for at least 20 minutes, the bartender and other wait staff or employees walked by us without even making eye contact. It almost became comical how we were being ignored. It didn't even seem like they were understaffed since we saw quite a few employees walking around endlessly but not seeming to accomplish anything... especially since the establishment was basically empty by the end. The final straw was when a lady who appeared to be an owner or manager arrived behind the bar. She walked by our empty drinks to have the bartender pour her a large shot of tequila (?) with a lime and down it in front of us and then proceed to chat with other employees who were doing nothing. When we finally paid our check and got up to leave, she looked at us and said something like, "thanks for coming, have a nice night!" Truly baffling. I have heard the food is good but I am having a hard time thinking of why I would put myself through that experience again.

They have come a long way and look different in 2025 while still having a good amount of charm and uniqueness it had back then. As you could imagine by the name and the fact they opened in a former Naval Air Station they go heavy on the plane theme. Beer names especially and they offer a good variety of beer styles and have non-beer options for those not interested as well. I have enjoyed every visit including my many visits over the years here. The best time to visit is during the summer or at least nicer weather to fully enjoy their outside space. Arguably the best addition since their opening has been their food program. Think wood fire pizza and some other non-pizza offerings. My wife and I have had their pizza in the past and very much enjoyed it. This time though my wife got their Italian on Focaccia and I got one of their Chicken Bacon Ceasar sandwiches. Instead of typical bread it used a folded pizza dough and both our dishes tasted phenomenal. If you visit trying their food is a must, do not skip on it! Beer wise today we sampled four beers new to us. I got Wings their NEIPA & Vuelo Nocturno Mexican Lager while my wife got their Plane Beer American Lager and the Krösswind Kölsch. We enjoyed all four of them and we were glad to have found so many on tap we had yet to try! Flight Deck may not be an immediate thought when you think of Maine Breweries but they deserve recognition. Offering a well rounded variety of beers and other drinks along with some great food in a unique inviting space! Add it to your brewery bucket list!

There are so many seating options inside and outside, and the outdoor space is especially great. They have covered areas that keep you comfortable in rainy or cold weather, and there are always fun activities happening outside. The beer is consistently good. We haven't tried one we didn't enjoy. The pizza and sandwiches are also really solid and perfect for grabbing a quick lunch. The service is always fantastic. Every person behind the bar has been friendly and welcoming each time we've visited. One of the things we appreciate most is that they allow dogs inside. Our puppy loved relaxing while we enjoyed our food and drinks, which makes it such an easy spot for dog owners. The location on a former military base adds a really unique atmosphere, and they do a great job leaning into that theme with thoughtful details throughout. Overall, it's a great place with great beer, great people, and an inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend. Cheers!

It's just a single smash burger patty with cheese, in a "Pub" without even full table service.
