Stopped by this establishment while hitting some of the local breweries in the area and it didn't disappoint. The beer was great, the vibe was awesome with super friendly and attentive staff there to help with any questions. Loved the fact that you had the choice of either partaking in the main area with some suds or go into the back room and play some shuffleboard to get the competitive juices flowing. The beer wasn't my favorite in comparison with some of the other breweries that we dove into on our day drinking tour. I think that I would come back here for a pop if I was partaking at Lone Pine and just walked up the small hill to the back. read more

This rating is purely based on one beer. I love their sours! The best I can find in Portland. Their brewery is hard to find. Jellies harvest Moon is the latest sour that knocked my socks off. You can frequently find their beers on tap at Portland Beer Hub on Fore St. When they have it, it never lasts too long! read more

My wife and I stopped in here a few weeks back. The beers were awesome and the menu had a lot of variety. We didn't see a handicapped ramp, so I had to carry the baby stroller up the stairs, which wasn't a big deal for me, but unless there's a ramp or elevator I missed (which is possible) it doesn't appear to be wheelchair friendly. read more

The beer here is okay but not my favorite. I want to like it more because it's a seemingly cool place, and the staff are always friendly, but I'm just not a huge fan of the beer itself. The one that I do like a lot is the Moon Jellies sour, so I'll give that lots of credit. I love going to Goodfire in the summer, especially for the Gastro go-go events where Goodfire and other breweries in and around the same complex are open, it's nice out, you can wander around (even though you can't openly carry drinks from place to place legally in Portland), the food trucks are out back, there is music playing, the picnic tables are out, etc. Unfortunately, if it's not summer, it's just not the same vibe. The interior of Goodfire really isn't set up well, especially for groups. I want to like it so much more than I do. The front room is small and only has a few high-top tables right next to the bathrooms. It's cramped at best. It's awesome that they have a whole open back room, but the lighting there is much more harsh, and there is no music. HUGE downfall. It feels so stale in that room. I think an upgrade would make Goodfire a much more fun place. read more

In a small little neighborhood tucked away in east Portland called East Bayside is a killer brewery called Goodfire Brewing. If you're a fan of New England style beer, this is your joint/jam/spot/gig/fave/ whatever you wanna call it but you MUST go! I stopped by today because the star of the show, Fiona, the brewery pup is debuting her DIPA beer and lemme tell ya, it doesn't disappoint! It's an easy drinker so beware, at 8.0% it will sneak up on you. I had one and took two 4- paks to go for some enjoyment this weekend. Goodfire Brewing is one of the newest breweries to hit the Portland brewery scene. They opened in November 2017 and they've already made a solid name for themselves around town (they are always selling out of cans). They are located on Anderson Street in a building that has become quite the hub for fermented beverages. I was surprised to see that 219 Anderson houses two breweries and two wineries! Goodfire is located in the back of the building and doesn't really have much for signage. The entire building doesn't look like much, but the interior of Goodfire is well designed and surprisingly spacious. Goodfire focuses on NE IPAs, with three on tap the day that I went, but they also offer a table beer for the non-IPA drinkers (which was very good). It is pretty bold to open an IPA-centric brewery in this town, but Goodfire is doing a phenomenal job and stands up well next to the competition. I would recommend getting over to Goodfire now before the out-of-state crowd starts to form lines outside their doorstep. It is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood. read more

Goodfire is the quite unassuming place behind Lone Pine. I feel like people miss it yet the beers especially the IPA's are some of the best in Portland. The space is huge with two rooms, one with the taps, a tv and a few tables. And then in the other room big tables, some games, and great views of Bayside. I feel like there is not much more I can talk about this place this. But I would highly recommend it for beer novices to beer nerds. They normally have a great selection of beers on tap, not just all IPA's, but a good selection of stouts, pales, and maybe even their zwickelbier! This was my first time having their beer, and it reminded me a LOT of Sand City beer. Juicy and palatable IPAs for the most part. Their Pilsner was very good too. It was cool to see Mr. Tuna there as well. We got a few rolls. The tasting room is spacious enough where it wasn't awkward to wait around for food. The staff here are fun to talk to, too. And helpful! Their beer is good, but very similar to a ton of other beer in the area. read more

If you live in Portland and you love craft brews, then I'm sure you get just as excited as I do when a new brewery opens up! I honestly had no idea about Goodfire until one of my coworkers mentioned to me that they had just opened up right behind Lone Pine. In eagerness to check it out, a couple friends and I went the other weekend. I will say that it is not easily visible from the road.... actually its not visible at all from the road. Goodfire's entrance is located on the back side of the building where lone pine is. There also isn't much advertising or signs to indicate that it is there so you really need to be searching to find this place. The inside is fantastic. They have plenty of seating and the place was very thoughtfully decorated and set up. They have a front room where the counter and main brewing facility is and they also have some large tables for seating. Goodfire also has a large back room with plenty of additional seating which was really nice. As far as the beer, I was actually pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Both my husband and I are big IPA fans and they had both an IPA and double IPA on draft. Both of them were fantastic and I would certainly come back to get them again! Overall I am very impressed with Goodfire and I am happy to have them in the neighborhood. I can't wait to come back! read more

So happy Goodfire opened! So bold for opening with 2 IPAs. Love it! They have a pretty big space- a staff member noted they wanted a place to grow into and I'd say they are going to need it . Being able to live in a city where there are so many unique craft breweries is a dream, and I actually get to live in it! In the midst of all the breweries, Goodfire Brewing Co continues to stretch Portland's craft brewery scene. Located behind the Lone Pine brewery, Goodfire is a hidden gem. There are no signs in the front of the building to indicate their presence, so once you hit Lone Pine, it's time to make the trek to the back of the building (literally, you have to walk around to the back of the building, which might seem sketchy at first, but it's worth it). Walking into Goodfire, your initial thought is that it looks like every other brewery you have ever been to. Concrete floors, long bar tables, large exposed beer kettles...it's all the same. However, if that is not your cup of tea, Goodfire also have a backroom which is very inviting and fairly quiet when compared to their actual brewery section. I found this to be awesome, as you get the best of both worlds. In the back room, there are some games at the tables and their modern light fixtures add a cool flair to the brewery. As far as their beer, it is decent. I'm not sure if they are producing anything extraordinarily different in the Portland scene, but they provide solid IPA beers. I decided to try the Crystals, which was a Galaxy Double-IPA and it was fruity and hoppy. My husband ordered the Waves, which was subtle and also fruity. I also have a thing for breweries that take the time to produce quality labels for their beer, and I really enjoy Goodfire's labeling, logo, and aesthetic. It's a great representation of their beers and when we went, they had a great deal of cans for sale so that you could take their beer home with you. Overall, Goodfire is a solid brewery with lots of room for seating. I look forward to seeing what else they produce in the future! read more

With the craft beer industry booming across America most breweries are not here to stay for long but Goodfire is! They always have a beer for everyone, double ipa's, ipa's, sours, pilners, porters and stouts. I have never met a sour here I didn't like. The VHS imperial stout was intense but I think in part because I had drank a sour first but was good. The back room has a ton of games to pick from. Came here on a Saturday afternoon after visiting Lone Pine (its right around the back), and, they have a solid amount of seating outside and ample seating inside. They do not offer tasting flights, but, both my friend and I LOVED the CMYK and Prime. Just solid tasting IPAs. Yummy! Also, they have a super cool logo! read more

Found this place while visiting a few other breweries in the area and decided to give it a try. It's a small space but the staff was friendly and helpful and the IPAs I had were fantastic. Their merch is also really cool so we grabbed a pint glass, koozie and some stickers to go on the beer fridge back home. read more

Great bbq good beer some great beer too. We sat outside and heard the water. Staff was friendly and answered my ridiculous questions!

This was the highlight of my trip. Maybe more than the lobster and other yummy foods.. The Waves here was the beer of the year for me. Hazy IPA with the funk that you'd find at beers out of finback and other half. The fact that this brewery opened only a year ago was extremely surprising. I was also bummed because that meant that they don't ship or sell anywhere outside of the state at the moment. Had to bring a 4 pack back.. but so sad that I'm on my final one now. Goodfire Brewing was surprisingly discreetly placed, and we may not have even noticed it if hadn't been recommended to us while we were at Lone Pine (another brewery in the same physical building as Goodfire). Goodfire's tap list is relatively small compared to most other places, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing--you could probably try most of what they have to offer in one sitting if you stick to small pours. On this occasion, I tried a sour beer of theirs, and it was was good enough. Their decor is interesting, with some custom beer/horror movie crossover posters on the wall, and it seemed to me that they were going for a marquee vibe with their tap menu; it seemed like they put a lot of effort into designing the place and it was spacious. I was surprised to see that on a Thursday evening we were only customers there for our entire sitting; that's likely because the entrance is harder to find than the other breweries on the strip. All told, Goodfire was enjoyable and I think it's worth taking a quick look. read more

I didn't really like the beer but that's not why I do not want to ever go back. You order your beer at the counter and then they ask for a tip starting at 18%. When you go to the table, you order on your own and you have to sign terms and conditions before they'll let you see the menu. And then they still ask for tip when all they do is bring the meal to the table. They never check on you or provide any service whatsoever. It was loud, very difficult to hear your table mates. What a disappointment. We heard the chef was from Hugo's in Portland. We ordered the burger and we could barely find it buried in the bun. read more

In a pretty crowded brewery scene Goodfire's beer stands toe to toe with some of the best in the area. I would rank their beer slightly behind Bissell Brothers which is saying a lot if you know the craft beer market. Their brewery is dog friendly and located right behind Lone Pine. read more

A nice Portland brewery with some super brews. Drink them here or take home from the rotating stock. You'll have to be brave to find it. The door is located at the back of the building. Drive up the hill and park wherever it suits your fancy. You are not limited by the confining lines painted in other parking lots. Or park in front of the building on the street. read more

We visited 11 breweries on our recent trip to Portland, this was hands down the best. Who would have thought! This is just outside of downtown and you might miss it if you don't know to look for it so i'm telling you right now to look for it. Plenty of free street parking, so head over and grab some beer and then go next door or downstairs to try a few other places. read more

Goodfire brewery...heard great things up until my experience there, unfortunately. Ordered two beers..first beer was pretty good and then when I was going to try my second beer my friend noticed that the glass was cracked. When I went back to get a new beer because again the glass was cracked, the bartender decided to pour the beer from the cracked glass into the new glass. When I asked him if he can give me a new pour from a new glass he seemed bothered. He responded with I'm pouring the same beer in a new glass, It's fine. What's wrong it's not broken. I then asked him to pour new beer from the draft in a new glass. I didn't even want to entertain it. My thought... How do you even know if there's any glass particles from the crack glass? And what exactly is the big deal of pouring me a new glass from the draft? It wasn't my fault that the glass was cracked. In the future, be sure to make your customers feel comfortable in your establishment. We are supporting your business. read more

Out of the fair share of breweries I've been too. This is definitely one of the best. Super chill. No fuss. Just beer. It's super reasonable prices $3 for 6oz pours. Great merchandise and the beer is delicious! From sours to ipas. I'm not a fan of sours but the raspberry one I had here is incredible. Would come back when I visit Maine again for sure. read more
