Welcomed by the owner and found some yummy beer options. My sister was visiting and she isn't a beer drinker at all but tired (and liked!) the fruity spritz - it is frankly a great option to serve in a brew pub. I had the Oyster Lager - dark but not heavy tasting. Wayne went for their1856 Lager and my brother in law opted for the Champs Lager. All good - and bonus - Dog Haus was the food truck so we enjoyed the following: Wayne had the House Dog with sauerkraut, mustard, grilled onions & celery salt. I had the same but with caramelized onions instead and no sauerkraut. Bill totally enjoyed the OG dog, with maple mustard & curry ketchup, They also allow you to substitute a red snapper (you know, a traditional Maine dog!) for the beef one. All in all it was a great afternoon, sitting in the doors of the brewery, chatting and enjoying hot dogs and beer!

How are there no reviews for this place?! Maine...you really have to catch up with the times (and I…read morecan say that because I grew up there). Anyway, this is a fabulous beach! There is plenty of parking, nice restroom/shower facilities and best of all they have a little snack shack just off the sand which serves up some yummy snacks. We opted for some fries & sodas which were perfect for a hot day on the beach. As for the beach itself it's quite large, surrounded by beautiful million dollar homes and has plenty of space to spread out and not feel crowded by your neighbors. One of the best parts is that when the tide goes out you can make your way out to a sand-bar on the beach across the way, it's a good way to get into the cold Maine water without actually swimming. All in all a perfect beach day on our trip back home to Maine.

We stopped in not long before closing time on Tuesday and sat down right away at the bar with a couple drinks. With most of the action being down in Portland, we weren't expecting much from a little bar tucked away in sleepy Falmouth, but we were pleasantly surprised as soon as we walked in at how chic but inviting the room was. It's a relatively small space, but I think it feels bigger than it is. The vibe and the cocktails were so good, we ended up going back Friday night before we left as well. On the latter evening, my wife got the wine flight and let the bartender choose for her. She brought out an albariño, a skin contact pinot grigio from Slovenia, and a red from the country of Georgia. She ended up buying bottles of the last two (and at prices that would make grocery stores blush to boot!). All excellent in their own, unique ways. I got the espresso martini with the Amarula cold foam after Tuesday evening's bartender so strongly encouraged me to do so. It was solid and the cold foam was really tasty (if you haven't had Amarula yet, go out and get a bottle like... now) though trying to make sure I got some cold foam with the martini itself became challenging pretty quickly. I might have to just stir it in next time to get the full effect. A very solid beverage indeed. To top it off, we got the manchego charcuterie board, which had 3 nice wedge-shaped slices along with a variety of items, including almonds, pickles, mostarda, and gluten free crackers that were reminiscent of seedy Triscuits. All really delicious and again at a reasonable price. All in all, this was an extremely pleasant find for us. An excellent, quiet, modern bar 5 minutes away without all the craziness of the Old Port (as much as we love it down there still though!). I can't wait to go back!

Firstly if you read my first review you will know that we loved the cocktails we tried and the space in general. Such an inviting and fantastically designed spot. Days they are open starting at 4 they turn into a table service spot. We showed up in the earlier end and snagged some bar seats. Was fantastic watching the drinks being made, especially excited for my wife to watch her Ramos Gin Fizz being made. A must try cocktail if you've never experienced it! Both bartenders were fantastic and we enjoyed the conversations we had with them. Top notch service can be expected here. As mentioned above my wife had the Gin Fizz while I tried their version of the popular Espresso Martini and it was fantastic. Food wise they have snacks, cheese and meat boards and small plates. Certainly a spot you should come to and share plates with your party. We kicked off our meal with the Bread and Butter which was sourdough from Bread & Friends and had such a flavorful compound butter to spread on top. Afterwards we each got their daily special Lobster Slider which imagine a lobster roll inside a small croissant and wooooow it blew us away! We were told it was the first day it was offered we hope it becomes a permanent menu item. Small sized but packed so much flavor with a delicious lemon aioli and perfectly made flakey croissant. Then we split the Crispy Potatoes and the Spanish Tortilla dishes. We loved both dishes with giving a slight edge to the Spanish Tortilla but you could not go wrong with either one for a potato dish. Lastly as an end cap to the date night we enjoyed the Chocolate Panna Cotta and impressed like the rest of our meal. I will say with this date night revisit and half-way into 2026 that REVEL is still the best new opening in Maine that we have visited! Highly recommend checking out this amazing spot for both drinks and food.

First off I must let you know that my son and daughter-in-law were married last year and due to COVID restrictions were not allowed to have a large reception. Well the restrictions were lifted and the party was all set to go. My wife began the planning process over a year ago meeting, texting and talking with Cami who was the Heritage Center manager. She helped me plan the reception decor and food options. We decided on the New York Buffet which included prime rib, shrimp ziti scampi, parmesian crusted chicken, garden salad, roasted garlic potatoes and and assortment of steamed veggies. All the food was delicious, however the prime rib and roasted potatoes were over the top outstanding. We had multiple complements! Kudos goes to the chef. The decor was beautifully displayed with blue bows on the white covered chairs.

An old review of mine, tweaked a little bit since posting back in August 2010 on a wedding website:…read more Our wedding was absolutely stunning in the smaller (da Vinci) room. The staff do a phenomenal job in making the room beautiful. The food was wonderful, the service was excellent. The servers were top notch--and practically invisible--throughout the night. We were incredibly happy to have had our wedding at the Heritage Center. The one reason for the 4 stars is that Kim, the manager, was very difficult to get in touch with until the week of our wedding. While I understand when people are busy, I didn't feel that my questions were out-of-line or overboard, and it was supposed to be a pretty important day for me. I found the best results were obtained by arriving in person because emails and voicemails went unanswered. TIP: Spring for a package deal, the chair covers and bows were fabulous and made the room seem that much more elegant.

There's something telling about a place the moment you walk in, and here, it isn't subtle. You're…read moremet with the lingering scent of beer soaked into the floor from nights that were clearly busier than anyone could properly manage. Now, most people would interpret that as neglect. But that's not quite right. It's evidence. Evidence that this is a place that has been tested, repeatedly, and continues to operate under pressure. And strangely enough, that inspires a certain confidence. You know, almost immediately, the drinks are going to be done properly. I ordered something simple. chicken fingers with buffalo sauce and bleu cheese. Nothing remarkable, and that's precisely the point. They weren't trying to reinvent anything. They were just... competent. And competence, especially in an environment that borders on chaos, is not trivial. It's reliability. It's order, holding its ground. The service reflected that same tension. Reese, the bartender, was clearly under strain. busy to the point where most people would start to fracture, but she didn't. She held the line. And if you've spent enough time in this industry, you know that's not easy to do. There's something almost admirable about watching someone maintain composure when everything around them is loud, demanding, and slightly out of control. And that's really the essence of the place. It's loud... almost aggressively so. Packed. Borderline unruly. At one point, there was a couple engaged in what was clearly a volatile argument... infidelity, perhaps? but the noise swallowed the details. It didn't matter. The specifics were irrelevant. What you were witnessing was raw human behavior, unfiltered, playing out in real time. And oddly enough, it fit perfectly. This is not a place for quiet reflection or carefully structured conversation. It's a place where order and chaos collide and neither one fully wins. But if you're the kind of person who can tolerate that, or even enjoy it... there's something undeniably compelling about it. If you want quiet, look elsewhere. But if you're willing to step into something louder, messier, and far more alive, then this place offers exactly that. It's not refined. It's not restrained. It's something closer to a modern day bacchanal. And for better or worse, that's the point.

The clear standout was the bed -- easily one of the most comfortable hotel beds we've slept in recently. Great mattress, supportive yet plush, with high-quality linens that made for genuinely restful nights. That alone earns the hotel strong marks. The room itself was clean and functional, but the finishes felt more mid-tier than upscale. Even as a Hilton Diamond member who received a room upgrade, the views were still pretty ordinary and not particularly scenic. The hotel just doesn't seem to deliver strong views from the guest rooms. The main area where it fell short was value. The base rate already felt on the higher side, and then parking and breakfast were both extra charges that added up quickly. Those additional costs made the total feel a bit steep for what the room delivered. That said, the location is convenient for exploring Portland's waterfront and Old Port area, and the comfortable bed went a long way toward making the stay enjoyable. If you're someone who prioritizes sleep and can find a good rate (or don't mind paying for parking and breakfast separately), this is a perfectly good option. We'd consider staying here again, especially if the rate was a bit more competitive. 4 stars -- great bed and convenient location, with some value and finish caveats.

I rated this hotel 5 stars and it definitely deserved it. Here is the reason we were at the hotel: We rented a cottage at Higgins Beach; when we arrived the place was dirty. none of the rooms had even been swept, really a turnoff. we hade been renting a cottage at Higgins for 25 years and it was sold as a year round home. The description of this cottage was obviously written with rose colored glasses so it would be rented. I reported the condition to the realtor who worked for a Keller Williams team and she would not even come to see the condition of the cottage. instead she said, "there were people who rented it before us and they didn't complain about anything." Perhaps the people before us left the home a mess - sticky kitchen counter and table with dirty floor, dusty blinds, dirty rugs, and it smelled. there was a smaller cottage behind the house (same property) which our husband and his wife stayed in. we all commented after the first night about the smell......it was black mold! in both rentals. My husband had a respiratory illness and after the second night, our son paid for us to stay in a hotel in Portland near the waterfront. I requested a full refund, but the realtor refused. She did send a cleaning crew and the lady who was cleaning said it smelled musty and the black mold in our bathroom was bad. My husband and I had our daughter with us and we felt bad about the whole experience. we had one nice day at the beach and left Higgins Beach early thereby cutting our one week vacation short. My husband was seen by his Pulmonologist the day after our return home. Ironically, the house was leveled when we took a ride up some months later; probably condemned!
