I would love to know where they get the decor for this place. I'd imagine a lot of flea markets (fabulous ones)? It's hard to pick my favorite decor item because there are so many, but it's somewhere between the chairs shaped like hands and the giant silver octopus tentacle under the T.V. Ooo and the corner with all the clowns! Drinks are strong and cheap. The bartenders are friendly. There's a patio, but it's a bit small. There are plenty of comfy chairs/couches. They have live music pretty often, so if that's your thing, you'll be happy there on weekend nights. The only thing is the space is kind of small for live music, so it can get really loud. This is an excellent chill option if you're in Hallowell and want to skip bars that tend to get a bit fratty like The Quarry Taproom. Highly recommend!

Friends of ours wanted to play some pool after we had dinner nearby at Lucky Garden, so we did exactly that. It was a slow night and no one was waiting for the table, so we played about 4 or 5 games and had a lovely time. The decor is awesome, the bar is clean, and the staff were friendly. I've always had a good time here, and I enjoy the artwork too!

Magic. Absolutely magical…read more I've been to Stone Mountain Arts Center twice to see Griffin William Sherry (formerly of Ghost of Paul Revere) and the experience is unparalleled. It's a spacious, rustic post and beam structure, decorated with a birch tree and twinkle light aesthetic. A beautiful, intimate venue with excellent sound. I think it might say, "If you build it they will come," on the SMAC website, definitely true. You really need to be committed to attending a show here, I believe the website also suggests not trusting GPS to get you there, because it will put you on roads that are "impassable". One driver and one navigator are recommended--lots of twists and turns on dark roads. The venue itself is on a gravel road. The staff is friendly and helpful--we were assisted with parking and seating. I haven't had a chance to have dinner there but hope to--both shows were on work days and we couldn't get there early enough for the 5 or 6 pm sitting. There are no photos with this review because they are a phone free venue, photography is forbidden, and they proudly advertise that anyone with their phone out will be asked to leave. I'm usually not into places with lots of rules but this rule definitely enhances the experience. Can't wait to go back.

The barn has big wide open garage doors overlooking a large grassy yard area and pond outside. Inside has a mix of tables, high top bar tables, and bar seating. The outside has a mix of tables on a large back deck, and picnic tables. They even have some lawn games. Very family friendly place. The menu is simple, think burgers, pizza, pasta, fries, and some appetizers and salads They have a full bar and cocktail menu. The food is good, the service is friendly...except for some teenagers who need a little more customer service training, but they are young and haven't been coached enough yet. For example...the teenage hostess, before even saying hello, good evening, welcome, asked us if we had a reservation, without a shred of a smile. We said no, and she walked us to a table, at which time we decided to sit at the bar for better view of the outside space, and slightly further from the live music. Keep in mind there is no air conditioning. The evening we went it was hot. We sat at the bar, and the sun was to my back through the open garage doors. It was so beautiful, and although there were fans, they didn't do much to cool it off. I love the heat so I didn't mind. I really like the vibe here...very casual, beautiful rustic setting. I will definitely be back on another beautiful summer evening.

The owner was the only person taking orders and serving. After being served, at least 45 minutes after placing our orders, on paper plates, she disappeared into the kitchen. Waited 20 minutes into our meal to ask for salt and pepper. She brought them over while talking on her cell phone, and my husband had to show her his empty glass to order a refill....which came 15 minutes later. So, in a nutshell, disappointing.....not great food, not great service. Will not be returning.

It was an album release party for local pop-punk/emo band Broadwing. The card featured other local bands as well as a New England DJ. I know now that some shows at Blue are free or minimal cover which is great. Tickets for this show ended up being $12 which is a great value for a concert/night out. Hard to find tickets that cheap nowadays. The person working the door was friendly and had our name already so didn't even need to pull the tickets up. Bartenders were friendly and the drinks were well made. I especially liked their spicy cocktail Bing Bong which had the perfect kick to it! Prices were reasonable for drinks as well. Venue is on the small side as expected but had a great vibe for intimate smaller shows. Even with a sold-out show it was not overpacked. The acoustics and sound were good for a smaller venue as well. If you love smaller concerts I would recommend checking out their event schedule to see if something piques your interest. Also if you are a fan of pop punk music then do yourself a favor and check out Broadwing (especially their song New England Baby)! Very down to earth friendly band!

I'm hanging on to the hope that my 4 stars will not have to be updated as the scales of bar justice can only tip downward hence forth. Perhaps I have a false sense of self - but I'm a freakin great customer - I spend hundreds of dollars a month on eating, drinking and making Merry at the midcoast Maine bars - y'all business owners better take notice of me and respect the badge, my writing power and my posse - cause I'll turn you out if I must. And when beady eyes behind the bar set upon me, they're not saying"welcome back valued customer" they're saying "it's him again" the concentric circles, the common center must not be broken with new faces and new money - Be the region between the two concentric circles - I think it's called annulus, be that, not an assulus. The folks at the bar are quite the opposite, they're friendly and engaging- one guy was dancing to live music, caulking around the AC while drinking drafts and discussing Him Morrison with me as I sat alone in a dark corner. This is what Irish bars are - just gotta inform the barmaid- only one, the other is quite nice - and the big guy - I'm betting a shit of Jamison that he's the owner- always running around the back, cooking up great meals - try his Steak and Cheese, the twelve inch pizza which beady eye called "fourteen" - duh - is $9.00 and big guys got a heavy topping hand, smothering that pie with the pepperoni that does that high heat trigger shaped twist - like a tulip pedal holding the little droplets of oil inside.

The bartender said we could order food even though it was really slow and the band had stopped playing. We ordered cheese steaks sandwiches. We asked what came with the sandwiches and we were told tater tots. It took almost 40 minutes to get our food. We had to wait about 5 minutes for the ketchup and there were no tater tots. We got a bag of chips and were told they were out of the tater tots and French fries. No respectable Irish bar would not be able to serve fries or some form of potato with a meal. The bar had about 10 people in the bar and they were all pretty drunk. It is not a fun pub but a place with some sad drunks.
