First time at this restaurant though we've lived in the area for a long time. My MIL and her boyfriend are fans hence they brought us here. They let you get popcorn from their popcorn machine which from what I heard is unlimited. I enjoyed my pastrami sandwich on rye bread. The fries were hot and crispy. For appetizer, we ordered the pretzels with cheese dip. That was pretty good. I had a bit of the dessert which was similar to a lava cake. Our server Kristina was awesome. We visit Gary's year round and tonight was a bad experience. we arrived and waiting 10 minutes before we went to the hostess station to ask if they were going to serve us. in the meantime another table in the dining room was served drinks. The people at the waitress station said they would send our server over. After an additional 5 minutes, we walked out and saw that a couple that wasn't there on our way in had their drinks. We told the waitstaff, still standing at the hostess station that we were leaving and they looked surprised. Really folks, we ate here often in the past and 15 minutes without a server coming over is unacceptable, get your act together!! read more

Me and my family went in at about 4:15 pm . We were greeted nicely, sat at the table. It was us and one other family in the room. That sits 30ish. We waited a very long time, the other table was being served several times by staff. At this time we had no service. A staff member went over to a table to clean and looked at us and smiled. At this time we decided to leave. Went we were leaving there were 3 staff members talking to each other. There was another table that came in after us and was being served several times. i would not recommend this place was treated very badly , i ask for a chocolate martini , not sure what it was that she made me i asked for something different the bartender yelled at me and dumped it down the drain and refused to make me something different and would not refund me, i brought it to the managers attention and she did absolutely nothing. well let me tell you what i work in a restaurant in tourist part of the state myself and if i treated a customer that way i would of been fired on the spot and probably escorted out the door. this place is poorly managed and they just lost a couple of customers. will never go there again so i can be treated like dirt and take my money , to me that is ripping off the public when you do something like that. so the way i hear it Gary, the owner isn't even here in the state he live some place else and the management does what they want and gets away with it, that is pretty sad to me and disrespectful .i have called them twice with my complaint and have heard nothing back so that tells me they have no intention of making it right for the way i was treated...... read more

We visited two different nights while visiting the area. First night we ordered fish and chips and the blackened haddock special. Wayyyy too much blackened seasoning on the haddock special. We had to scrape off most of the seasoning. Server didn't come back to check on us - it wasn't busy at all and we didn't see her for a very long time- until most of our meals were eaten. The mashed potatoes were very salty and the green beans had clearly been microwaved. The fish and chips were good- nice portion of fresh haddock. Second visit we ordered the fish and chips (still good, much smaller portion of haddock this time) and the baked haddock- same mashed potatoes and microwaved green beans. Except we discovered that we received the baked scallops, not haddock. The server offered to get us the baked haddock but we declined as it would have taken too long to get it and we were hungry. Scallops were good, though. Albeit more expensive than the baked haddock we had originally ordered. There isn't much of a variety of restaurants in the area that are open this time of year, so Gary's is pretty much the only place to eat. It would be great if portion size was the same from visit to visit. read more

We were in Naples and looking for a place for dinner. Gary's was open and had a lot of outdoor seating, which was a draw. We were seated pretty quickly and there were two servers trying hard to attend to all of the customers and succeeding. We put in an order for a pot roast and a steak tip dinner, and they came out within a reasonable amount of time. The mashed potatoes with both dinners were excellent, but the rest of our meals, including the quality of the meat, was...just...ok. During COVID, it was one of the few places open for dinner. Quickly seated - and warm, hearty food delivered quickly - exactly what you want after a hike / long day of travel! No 2 hour Portland waits. Ordered the clam chowder which had large chunks of clam and potatoes - super filling. Ordered the scallop w Ritz crackers, veggies and mashed potatoes. Super filling! Yah know I love Gary's. Their outside area is wonderful, and their staff is always more than kind, but I have to update one thing which was once near and dear to my heart - the lobster roll. Went back to Gary's for another round of lobster rolls as I hadn't had one this summer this past weekend. It had gone up a few dollars in price - but I get it, supply and demand. I was sad to see that the lobster in the roll has decreased a fairly large amount in quality. The meat didn't appear nearly as fresh and it probably had only half of the meat that I had gotten in the previous year. I don't think I'd pay for the roll again in the future which is a bummer cause I do love the environment here. Side note my dad got their clam chowder as they were out of their mussels (which are great) and expressed it was a meh (we'll call it 6 out of 10). He said there was a spice in it that took away from the clammy flavor that he enjoys as part of the chowdahhh. read more

Have talked about coming here for several months since moving to Casco. Finally made the decision tonight and I wish I would have kept pushing it off. Everything was less than mediocre at best. Food was all room temperature and bland. Service was sub par and the vibe was not inviting. I didn't find it overpriced which I was told by others but certainly better choices in the area. read more

Well the last time coming to this establishment was interesting. As we walking in to the building there was a sign no one under 21 after 9pm. We (family of 5) walked in a 8pm and there was a guy at the door asking for IDs and was not going to let my adult children to come with us. They have live music outside which the music was ok, I have seen better bands here. The bar services is so slow. There is a line of 12 deep to order drinks and no waitresses of your not sitting at a "food" table. There could be several improvements made here to make the experience better. read more

Our waitress was friendly and attentive, sorry I didn't catch her name with the masks on its hard for me. There looks to be plenty of outside seating but it was a bit cold for that this day. I got the fish and chips with sweet potato fries. They gave me the whole fish!! Well half of it anyway, I was amazed it was a huge nice thick filet, perfectly cooked. The fries were crisp and tasty but a bit cold( probably waiting on the fish?). My husband was happy with his chicken fingers and fries, all nice, hot and crispy. There was also coleslaw, which was very tasty. I ended up bringing half my meal home for lunch the next day, it was just as good then. I was told their menu is changing around Memorial Day and there will be more seafood offerings such as lobster rolls etc. I can't wait for that, we will definitely be back. read more

We arrived at about 7:15 on Sunday evening and were told it would be a 90m wait. There aren't a lot of choices in the area, so we walked around, went to a bar, and had a drink before returning after about an hour. We waited for about 10m before being seated, and the first thing I noticed while getting settled was that my phone stuck to the table, not sure what they're using to clean but that's not the result you should be going for. Had to peel my beer glass off each time I picked it up. Our waitress is lucky my husband won't let me leave $1 tips. It took forever for her to come to get our drink orders and we had to flag her down to get any additional drinks, which we needed because it took an hour for them to bring us a burger, nachos, and 2 sandwiches. She didn't bother to ask us if we wanted desert. The only redeeming quality was that the food was pretty good. I get it, you're in a touristy town with limited options and everyone is short-staffed, but if I'm back in the area I'll spend a little extra time driving to find a better atmosphere and better service. read more

When you show up to Gary's at 745 and are told a "20-25 minute wait for food" so you don't think much of it and have a drink to pass the time. Check back in 25 minutes later with the same host, and are told an hour to hour and half wait now, because "they're so backed up" meanwhile the restaurant is less than half full, including the tables outside.. then have a waitress go check with the kitchen to come back out and say atleast a half hour wait for food, sure no big deal. Then be told 5 minutes later that the kitchens been closed for the night because they're so backed up, meanwhile the place is still less than half full. After pointing out the restaurant being not even half full, the female bartender inside proceeds to tell me I can "go work in the kitchen with the kitchen staff, if I want to". I was completely baffled because frankly I've always enjoyed going to Gary's and usually have a good meal/service when going there just about weekly.. on the way out talking with other guests leaving, they mentioned they waited over an hour for chicken fingers, and they were still raw when they were served to them.. continued on to the causeway to watch the fireworks, just to see the host walking down to enjoy the show as well, because they didn't want to be working in the first place, and chose to string customers along and give them unnecessary attitude. I understand it's the 4th of July, if you don't want to be working, don't be open and don't be telling customers a 20-25 minute wait just to bring in business for the bar.. and definitely probably shouldn't be doing "cash only jello shots" The 1 star is being generous, the bartenders outside were pleasant to deal with thankfully. read more

Not everyone can serve a good draft Guiness! Gary's is one who can. The fish & chips is very good too, so they go great together. We have found the proportions of the fish to vary, that may be expected, but I'll still choose Gary's for my fish fix. The service was very good and friendly too. I had not been there since It was Brays. 3 of us went Friday evening and had great service by a waitress that had a unique name that started with a C. I apologize but I can not remember. Our meals were very good. Best fish and chips my friend had in a long time. The baked scallops were big and yummy. We decided to return for dinner on Saturday and to enjoy the outside entertainment. Again, it didn't not disappoint. I had ordered a expresso Martini and it was not made right. It tasted like vodka and coffee only. She immediately took care of it. I spoke to the manager when we left and said what a great waitress she was. Will return next summer for sure!! read more

We called in an order to Gary's on our way back from a basketball game in Naples. It's conveniently located right on 302, easy to spot. The entrance had a ramp, making access easy for patrons who would need an alternative to stairs. When I entered the restaurant, the bar area was filled with what seemed like "regulars" and the restaurant itself was fairly empty. The bartender was friendly and retrieved my order, which was done right at the time they said it would be. For two small pizzas, one being a specialty, I thought my $20 bill was reasonable. I got the mashed potato/bacon/scallion/cheddar pizza and it didn't disappoint. The crust was perfectly cooked, allowing it to hold the dense toppings. My daughter got the cheese pizza. It had a lot of grease on the top from the abundance of cheese. We sopped some of that up with a napkin. My daughter was happy with the cheesiness and proclaimed it was one of the best pizzas she had. My 3 year old son enjoyed it as well and he's as picky as they come. For those who are local, I would compare the taste to that of a small Pat's pizza. Thin crust, crispy around the edges but not overlooked underneath. read more

Stopped here because we thought it was also Brays Brewery and learned it hasn't been a brewery for more than 5 years. They have a nice selection of craft beers including some excellent local choices.
