It starts with 2 thin mouthwatering burgers lined with 2 slices of American cheese with a smattering of caramelized onions in between. In the last 7 days, we have eaten lunch or dinner at Pistache, The Honor Bar, Trevini, Cafe Centro, Taboo, Restaurante Santucci, Bistro-Bistro. Today we chose BrickTop's in Palm Beach. What a thoroughly disappointing experience. The service staff was shockingly unfriendly and unengaged! It took 10 minutes for a server to stop by. There were about 10 guests on the patio. No rush! The food was acceptable! However, during long absences by the server, we asked several times for the wine list, water, our server, silverware while our entrees were sitting on the table, salt and pepper and SERVICE! We asked for service from our server, another female server and the hostess. Nobody cared! Nothing changed. We departed by picking up a lime that was dropped in the middle of the floor/walkway, and told the hostess that our bespectacled server dropped it a half hour earlier. Same blank stare from the hostess! Notice the restaurants that I named in the first sentence / outstanding service and attention by all. Give your business during these challenging times to people who care! We shall NEVER return to BrickTop's in PB. When they behave this way when there are few guests - enough said! read more

The ribs are ridiculously good along with the coleslaw. I'm not a fan of the skinny fries but the mashed potatoes were on point. My filet mignon was tender and the sautéed kale-spinach like butter. Their best dish are the ribs. However, our waiter was not very attentive and we waited way to long to get our drinks. This is an expensive restaurant therefore service should be efficient. Also, I told our waiter we were celebration a bday and he could have bought out a scoop of ice cream at least to make up for the poor service. read more

AUGUST 22, 2017: After a lovely summer stroll up and down Worth Avenue, my boyfriend and I had worked up an imminent thirst and appetite and were in search of an eatery within walking distance. (We had snagged a prime parking spot on Worth Avenue which we did not wish to forfeit.) Just one block north of Worth Avenue, we stumbled upon BrickTop's and decided to go inside to check out their menu. As soon as we opened their front door, we were greeted in unison by two smiling hostesses who were overflowing with youthful exuberance. That, combined with the alluring decor and the refreshing air conditioning, was so inviting that we felt obligated to stay, even though we hadn't yet checked out their menu. At first, we were seated in a comfy booth in the dining room, but, upon inquiring about their Happy hour, we were informed that you must be seated at the bar in order to take advantage of their Happy Hour specials. Thus, we opted for a couple seats at the bar. Our bartender was also our waitress ... or ... Our waitress was also our bartender. Her name was Danielle, and she provided exceptional service. Danielle was cordial, personable, and very accommodating. And ... She makes a mean mojito! ... I believe it could be the best one I have ever had! Ever! She presented us with their special summer menu, good till the end of September. Special pricing from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to entice summer patrons. (FYI: Palm Beach turns into a ghost town during the summer as its wealthy residents escape the unbearable heat and humidity and flee to their northern homes.) Prix fixe menu features 4 options at $20 and 2 options at $25. I chose the Steak & Fries ($25), and my boyfriend selected the Chicken Milanese ($20) which was served with pasta Alfredo. Both of our meals came with a salad ... I had the Wedge Salad w/ Blue Cheese & Bacon while my boyfriend had the Caesar. We also ordered a Dynamite Roll ($8) as an appetizer (not part of prix fixe menu.) I asked if I could substitute my side of fries for something else, and to my surprise, the answer was Yes (no hassle at all!), so I ordered Sautéed Spinach, and it was a very generous portion of hot, buttery, garlicky healthiness and deliciousness!! Topped with cheese!! After we finished our wonderful meals, Danielle informed us that we now got to choose either coffee or tea for after dinner. It was included!! I chose coffee which was upgraded to a cappuccino, and Boyfriend chose Botanical Blend Tea which was served in its own little green cast-iron teapot with herbs and Indian rose petals steeping. Impeccable dining experience!! Fabulous food, superb service, and soothing ambience! The caliber of food, service, and atmosphere definitely reminded me of Season's 52 ( a compliment, for sure! ) I have always been interested in whether or not a company is privately owned versus publicly owned, and/or whether it is corporately run or franchised ... so I solicited information from Danielle. (I also did some of my own research later.) Here I will share with you what I learned: BrickTop's (West End Restaurants, LLC) was founded in 2005 by Joe Ledbetter, a Nashville native who had previously co-founded the venerable "Houston's" restaurant chain back in 1977. Joe Ledbetter sold his stake in Houston's in 2004. There are currently 9 BrickTop's locations: Atlanta, Charlotte, St. Louis, Naples, Coral Gables, 2 in Nashville, and 2 in Palm Beach. This one in Palm Beach opened in 2014. (To clarify, "this one" is located on the corner of Peruvian Avenue and South County Road, on the "island" of Palm Beach, as opposed to the "mainland" where the other BrickTop's Palm Beach location exists on PGA Blvd. in Palm Beach Gardens. ) Anyway, I can definitely see a resemblance between BrickTop's and Houston's, both considered "upscale casual." The relaxed ambience of BrickTop's allows you the freedom and flexibility to dress however you want and still comfortably fit in. Want to stop by after work in your business attire? Sure! Want to dress to the nines on a romantic date? Yes! Want to come by after a long hot day on the golf course or tennis court? DO IT!! We were here for an early dinner during the week and they were already out of the Grouper. The tomatoes in the Heirloom Tomato Salad had almost no flavor and were under ripe. Did not have a great experience here at all. We were seated in the outdoor area which was pleasant until a customer got into a screaming match with one of the parking attendants. Thankfully no one was armed. Two in our party had the meatloaf which seemed like a safe bet until both had significant gastrointestinal distress overnight. One went to the hospital the next morning. Both took a solid day to recover. I reported it to the restaurant in the event other patrons that night had similar distress. Bricktop's is a local hang out. Think "Cheers" on Palm Beach Island. There is a large bar with open air where you can sit and overlook Worth Avenue. Great for people watching. The decor was muted and from what elegant. Quiet jazz music played. Do you service was friendly and efficient. I had fish tacos. They were without doubt, the best I have ever had.In fact, I could finish only one of the two, therefore being able to extend the enjoyment in till later. Tried it recently on Friday night. We had Prime Rib, lobster and a chicken dish. All three were great. Onion straws are tasty. I wasn't crazy about the salad choices but they have a few more dressings than shown on menu. Great service and comfortable ambiance. We will be back. Two stars only because I liked being on the patio looking at water. This is the new one in Palm Beach Gardens. I ordered Trout Almondine. Menu says brown butter and almonds and broccolini. The dish comes looking like Fried Chicken. Waiter tells me " oh that is flour and water". Terrible meal. I had a business lunch at BrickTop's on 4/10/17. The setting was perfect for conversation in an upscale yet relaxed environment. The decor is Florida Plantation with a touch of modern. The menu is health-conscious with a lean toward fresh ingredients. The salad options were particularly impressive. I had the Palm Beach salad (marinated shrimp, avocado, egg and baby spinach) and it was outstanding. I later ate a pizza at the airport, so it wasn't that filling! But still, it was so fresh and delicious. I'd recommend BrickTop's for sure. read more

Come here often when in town visiting my family. Great colorful, flavorful food and pleasant service. Parking isn't abundant but there is a valet available. Outdoor seating during the spring and fall is outstanding. The cole slaw is to die for.... definitely asking for the recipe next time I am in. Also a fan of the crabcakes (a ton of crab meat) and ribs. Comfortable bar area with a few booths for a more casual experience. Feel comfortable being in jeans and a t shirt here but you'll also see jackets and ties. Very clean restrooms! A few TVs to catch a game on in the evening. Happy hour is available, too! read more

Looking at some of the reviews I wonder how we could have gotten so lucky. We had 5 dinners and 5 lunches during our stay in south Florida (Pompano, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach) and our lunch at BrickTop's was the best meal of the trip. Great looking restaurant, nice outdoor seating, though we opted to be inside instead; spacious, comfortable, colorful, appealing. My wife and I began with a Crazy Tuna roll, one of the best sushi rolls we can recall. She had the ahi tuna steak, perfectly rare with steamed spinach; I had the ahi tuna tartare with avocado, mango, crispy wontons, and pine nuts, a delicious and beautiful stack of very fresh ingredients; the third member of our group had the prime meatloaf with whipped potatoes, which he said was exceptional. We each had a glass of moderately priced wine and concluded with espressos and cappuccino. Cat, our server, was amazingly helpful in accommodating the dietary restrictions of two of our three diners. Beyond that, she seemed to genuinely care about our dining experience and to genuinely appreciate how pleased we were with everything. For Palm Beach this is a very reasonably priced restaurant. My sister and I went here for brunch and it was so disappointing. I ordered a burger and she ordered salmon eggs Benedict. The English muffin was barely toasted and they placed the poached egg on and soaked the muffin with water. Salmon was fishy. It was inedible. We sent it back and ordered a monte Cristo. It came to our table and was not cooked well at all. Soggy bread (supposed to be golden brown) it looked like a sponge! She didn't eat at all. My burger was decent but the bun was supper soggy and the whole thing fell apart after two bites. They didn't have tea filters either so she couldn't order tea!!!! I don't generally write harsh reviews but last night's dinner at BrickTop's was the most disappointing meal we've had in PB for years. The place was noisy, not from people but from preparation by kitchen and wait staff. The service was slow and poor overall. The biggest complaint was how the waitress tried to up sell us at least a 1/2 dozen times. She tried to push an appetizer "for the table." When she took our meal order, she suggest lobster bisque to several of us. She asked if a person wanted protein with the wedge salad. She asked twice if we wanted coffee and desert. Even after we said no coffee or desert, she brought a desert menu to the table and came back in 15 minutes to ask again if we wanted desert. I expect to be supersized at McDonalds but not at a high-end restaurant in PB. To top it off, the food was underwhelming.
