The decor was soft and inviting. The menu was a bit limited with options, but what I did order (steak and fries, with a side of spinach, and deviled eggs), was pretty good. The steak wasn't flavorful at all, so I wasn't thrilled about that, but the sauteed spinach and french fries were absolute perfection!! The deviled eggs were not flavorful at all, but the sweet glazed bacon was absolutely delightful! The main reason I dropped the review from a 3 to a 2 is because I took my boyfriend here for his birthday, and asked the waitress if there were any sweets which could be brought out for his birthday. She crudely remarked, as if I offended her, "you can buy a piece of cake and I can put a candle in it". Ummm... a simple no would have sufficed. And a snippy remark should never have been given, especially since our meal for two came to $109. Food was just okay. I ordered the cedar plank salmon and towards the middle of the salmon, it was a bit raw. In addition, the seasoning did not penetrate below the surface of the salmon. As a result, it was a bit bland. I might give them another opportunity and order something else next time I'm in town as it could have been a one-off. read more

This most recent visit to the Cool Springs location was one of the best ever. The waitress was great in splitting the fish taco entree to a shared appetizer...and they were great! My date had the Palm Beach Salad for the first time...I've loved it for years. She was very pleased. Honest review by category Appetizers: Calamari was excellent. Lobster Bisque It had good flavors but wasn't very hot temperature-wise. For the price, it wasn't as good as other local places like The Wild Ginger. Entree: Ahi Tuna The fish grade didn't seem very high. The sear was great, but the fish was dry. The crust also had no flavor. Filet Mignon (Med-Rare) Internal cook was excellent, but outside was burnt black (heat too high when cooking, clearly rushing and the quality suffered) Black Pepper Filet (Rare) Again, the internal cook was perfect. The pepper crust was what you would expect, but the lack of discernable salt to contrast the pepper left some bites lacking flavor. Shrimp Tempora Roll ~70% of the roll is cream cheese. If you like cream cheese you will enjoy this. The flavors are good, and they put the shrimp on top instead of inside, which was a fun deviation from the traditional shrimp crunch roll. Wasabi was strong, perfect. Ginger tasted fresh. Sides: Creamy Whipped Potatoes Excellent! It was everything you could hope for. Crispy Brussel Sprouts It felt like they were rushing, so they turned the heat up too high and burnt them. Crispy Brussel Sprouts are supposed to be wilted and crispy from the additional cook time, but these appeared to have been cooked on high heat, resulting in burnt, black sprouts. Dessert: Hot Fudge Sunday It's almost impossible for a hot fudge Sunday to not be delicious. This was very good and enjoyable. Staff and Server: Staff was very professional and classy without coming across condescending or demeaning. Our server Noah was awesome. Checked on our table frequently, answered questions, and asked if we were sharing dishes so that he could divide the portions before bringing them out. He was everything a restaurant wants in its service staff. Ambience: Classy and fun. Everything is clean and pleasant in the restaurant. Every table was loud and seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. Final Thoughts: The atmosphere was great, and the staff was friendly and professional. But the food was not worth what was paid. The cooks are good, but the food lacks flavor. And while I understand that you need to get food out quickly, you can't sacrifice quality at those prices. Went to BrickTops last night. I usually love the food, but not tonight. I ordered,I can't remember what they called it, but basically a house salad. It was $14 and it was 95% lettuce--not what I expected at all. Also ordered sushi for $22 and it tasted like mush. Really disappointed will not go back again. First time dining at BrickTop's. Overall I would say it is better to go to J Alexander's or Cork and Cow for a nicer meal. It was a beautiful day and thought it would be nice to sit out on the patio but unfortunately the patio was closed. We didn't receive an explanation for why the patio was closed on such a beautiful day so I would check before going. My boyfriend said his prime rib was delicious and he devoured the deviled eggs. He still prefers C&C or J Alexander's - he said it just didn't compare in taste or overall experience. He really enjoyed his Kentucky Bourbon Beer but I didn't like my Moscow Mule. A old friend from out of town and I had dinner there last night. I was surprised (on a Wednesday) at the crowd at 5:30. We found a spot at the bar to wait our 35 minutes but it was so pleasant we ended up eating there. I had the Halibut and the roasted Brussel sprouts - awesome! Fish was moist and the champagne sauce perfect. Brussel sprouts were black and crispy. Good! My friend had the crab cakes. We have both lived on the coast for many years and are totally spoiled when it comes to seafood. I only order crab cakes close to the gulf or ocean. Her order of crab cakes was virtually ALL crab! Since my last visit BrickTop's service appears to have tanked. My order tonight was botched at every level. I ordered a salad, which never arrived. And a cheeseburger with spinach instead of fries. While we waited, water glasses went without refills, despite the tables around us getting multiple refills. Efforts to make eye contact with a server went unnoticed. And the cheeseburger arrived without spinach and without cheese. Mistakes in the kitchen can be worked out. No worries, but when I told the waiter that my burger was supposed to be a cheeseburger, he replied that "it is a cheeseburger." Now, you can see the picture - it's a bun-less burger... with no cheese. That's plain to see. So unless someone has invented invisible cheese, he'd be incorrect in his correction. And arguing with a customer about what is clearly not a cheeseburger is simply embarrassing customer service. I'm sorely disappointed you'll get better service at half the cost just about anywhere. read more

My wife and I chose BrickTop's tonight as we normally do for date night and special occasions. While normally receiving 5-star food and service tonight was different. Between the two of us, we have tried many different menu options and all have been amazing. Tonight, we returned but the experience was different. I normally order crab cakes, because they are done extremely well at BrickTop's, but seeing the 'Surf N Turf' special on the menu, made me try something different; I wish I hadn't. I started with the Lobster Bisque, and it was delicious. Upon receiving my 'Surf N Turf' (pictured), I felt pretty underwhelmed. The served lobster tail was plated well, but quite smaller than I was expecting. I figured, small but will pack a punch with flavor. Not this dish. The lobster was definitely over cooked, as it was chewy and really dry; even after trying to use their provided butter boat (which, to me, could have been warmer). I would've asked for another but figured that would be a waste for the 5 bites it would take to finish. Then, came time for the 'Turf'. I ordered medium, as I typically do, not knowing how the chef judges medium rare to medium. It came just over Rare, short of medium Rare. I mentioned this to the waiter and he kindly offered to have to cooked further. After the steak came back, it came back a perfect medium, well seasoned and a very good cut of meat; a fortunate finish to the meal. We will definitely visit BrickTop's again, because we know they can do better; I'm just not sure I'll order the 'Surf N Turf' again. read more

this was a horrible experience. they sat me on the porch and they had the windows up. the wind was blowing the tablecloths. it. was cold and then it started to rain.
