First time here at this new place. Much more open and inviting atmosphere than the previous location. Nice decor. Saw the retro 'lamps' they have installed around the restaurant at the State Fair last year (almost bought one) - thought they were pretty cool. They look pretty cool here too. About 25 tap beers. Nice variety of craft beers - local/ national. I had the Clown Shoes Space Cake IPA - always a good IPA choice when it's available around here. The beer list also included Surly - Todd The Axe Man - maybe the best beer ever. But, unfortunately they said it was tapped out. :-( ( apparently the secret on this beer is out ) For food, I had the Tuna Melt and side salad. Seemed to have/ use fresh ingredients. Pretty tasty. Too cool today to sit on the patio. But, it looks like they will have a nice outdoor seating area. Overall, 4 thumbs up. SERVICE is horrible! Thought we check them out since we live nearby and they're fairly new to this area. Waited 10 mins to be seated and there was about 5 customers in the restaurant. Waited another 10 mins for a server, basically you get the idea. We were waiting longer than we should be for everything while the manager looking guy and other server were just walking around. Also took about 20 mins for our server to get the check, who takes that long? With only 5 customers in the restaurant. ALSO we got charged twice on the credit card we used to pay! Worst place ever!! FOOD were decent with very small portions, we got two "shareables" and they look like kids size. Spend $50 for the two of us and we weren't even half full. Never coming back again. The portion sizes were extremely small. Staff is extremely rude and unhelpful. My fries were cold and the grits tasted horrible. When I complained about the portion sizes they did nothing. When I complained about the grits tasting bad they simply took it off my tab and refused to allow me to order anything else even if I paid the difference in price. They then kicked me out of the restaurant for politely complaining about the quality and portion sizes. I used to work at this place 8 years ago and I thought it was bad then. No it's way worse now. The owner Corey burstad replaced half his kitchen staff with illegal immigrants in 2010. I swore I'd never step food in the place again but to my regret I did and its worse now than it was then. I cant believe the waiter would have the audacity to boot a paying customer out of the restaurant because I was disappointed with the portion sizes and quality. I asked them at the time if we could be done in an hour and a half which they said no problem. It took that long to get my food so I had to change it to go. Today I went back, this time there were about 8 people in the whole place. After being seated waited 10 minutes to ask a manager looking guy if we could get a waitress. The guy actually gave me a stare like I shouldn't ask that even though there was about 3 waitress looking personnel around and very few customers. I ordered the burger 2.0 medium rare. After 1 hour our food comes for our three entree orders. My burger was barely warm and medium well and tasted dry, as in cooked all the flavor out. The waitress was fine but didn't apologize about anything which makes me feel like this is business as usual. I have celiac and have eaten here a number of times and have never had a problem. All items are clearly marked GF or if they can be made GF. I just went there again yesterday and had the Nachos 2.0 as an appetizer (absolutely fantastic) and the pastrami sandwich (they use an Udi's bun) and fries in the side...everything was delicious and I didn't have any issues. I really wanted to get the cheesy grits because they are so delicious, but they changed that to an up charge for anything outside of the main entree menu...but that's not a knock on them just the post COVID world we live in where everything costs so much more. read more

So for the last three visits or so, it seems like the workers have a bad attitude. They're not necessarily mean, but maybe they're just tired. It definitely shows in their service, or lack thereof. One waitress brought us a super dirty, coffee mug... like the entire inside of the mug, had leftover coffee in it... I was literally scraping it out with my thumbnail easily. And when we Asked her for a new cup, there was no apology or anything. She did get us a new mug though. Then, on multiple occasions, my burger (bricks burger) was missing some of its main ingredients to make it a specialty burger. On top of that, the waitress/waiters would barely return to our table to check on us. Our salad was also missing cranberries and nuts at least twice. The food is good... But if the service continues to be the way it is, I might have to find a new place to get a delicious burger. Did we do something wrong? Maybe we're on their hit list. It's a really nice space, so it has the potential to be really great. It just sucks that the service lessens that potential. read more

my wife and i have been going here a lot more since they changed their menu this past winter. before that, the menu was just plain weird and not very good. it's a lot better now. I still think there could be some improvement. the burgers are "ok" at best, pizza is "ok," the new tacos are very good and the corn dip is awesome. The serving sizes are on the small side and somewhat expensive as well for what you get. Beer / Bar is what makes this place enjoyable for us. it's a great atmosphere. the staff is on the "ok" side, overall. there are many times the servers just kind of disappear and the hostess could be friendlier. i feel i am being generous with a 4 star review as i would probably rate it three due to the price/ value of the food and the poor service. it's simply the atmosphere and corn dip that keeps us coming back. if the menu improved further to offer more normal food along with their, unique, items and the pricing was more in line with places like Clives Roadhouse along with the portions, id rate this place higher. read more

Brick's has finally evolved into what we've been hoping for all along. It was truly unpleasant in the past. And I had previously given them a 2-star review (points only for the design of the actual structure). Up until recently, this place made for nothing but bizarre, unpleasant dining experiences. I mean, SERIOUSLY weird experiences... a couple of years ago, we went out for brunch (we wound up here only because the wait at The Tavern was too long), and ended up waiting over an hour for our food to arrive. It turned out our server got cut and went home AFTER taking our order, and completely forgot about us! I mean, how does that happen!? And I could go on and on, but my thumbs would get tired. We kept trying it because it's one of the only non-chain restaurants in the area and we kept hoping they'd magically improve. Well, sometimes insanity pays off. The past few times we've gone out for "date nights," we've had an absolutely wonderful time! I recommend the G&Ts, the Castle Danger Cream Ale, the steak, the Elk Meatloaf (!), and the TRUFFLE TOTS! And here's what we learned tonight: they hired a new GM 4 months ago, which explains the about-face. I implore my neighbors to give this place a try again. Let's support a local business! read more

Went for dinner tonight a group of us. My husband and I split the 32 ounce Wagyu steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. We also had the Cajun dry rub wings. The wings were spicy but a good spicy. The flavor was very good. The steak was melt in your mouth delicious and the mashed potatoes were creamy. They have a good beer list with tons of craft brews. They also threw in a dessert for free because my husband pretty much ate the steak by himself. The waitress was friendly and funny. They offer beer samples as well to decide. read more

This is probably one of my favorite sit-down restaurants to dine in the north metro. We have a pretty limited set of options, and Brick's stands out. My favorites on the menu are the cornbread and the carbonara pasta. The patio is beautiful in the summer (as long as there is no soccer tournament) and the seating inside is nice as well. My wife and I have been here several times. We have always received excellent service and even better food. I am hoping to order something off their dinner selection soon, but the burgers are so good it's hard to be adventurous. The Brick's Burger and the Elk Burger are excellent. The fries are good enough to want more. Bricks isn't the cheapest place to go for burgers and drinks, but the service there has always been outstanding. Friendly wait staff, management and customers. I sat at the bar on a Friday night after my daughter's soccer game. Busy night. I order the walley with a side of asparagus. Disappointing to say the least. Not once after I got my food did a server ask how it was or if I wanted another glass of wine until I had to flag someone down. The walley piece was small on a "bed of tarter sauce" with a lemon wedge. As my side, 4 pieces of luke warm, limp asparagus with no taste. I asked for a side if mashed potatoes to liven the meal up. We ordered 2 aged ribeyes. Two came out...one looked and tasted like a ribeye the other a stripe steak for $36. We are staying in the hotel adjacent to the restaurant and its Sunday. Looked up the hours and it said they were open until 10. We arrived at 9:05 and were informed that the kitchen closed at 9. Our server did manage to wrangle up a bowl of soup for us, which was delicious. Seems like the hours of the kitchen should match the bar hours and Sundays they should be open later. I knew they had great craft beer options which is what got me in the door but I've been twice in the last few weeks and the food has been fantastic. The service has also been great... the waitress talked me into dessert which I wouldn't normally have ordered but she sold me on the cheesecake. Don't waste your time! To start the service was horrible. We sat at our table for close to 10 minutes before a waitress asked us if we had been helped. She promised to get our waiter and got us some water. Apparently our waiter was too busy to help us so the first waitress took pity on us and served us. She was the on shining light in our whole experience. She tried. Food took too long for the amount of people in the dining room. My sandwich, roast sirloin, was just ok. The bread was soggy, soaked in butter. It also was not very hot for a hot sandwich. They brought my kid dry celery and carrots and his grilled chicken was over seasoned. My wife's fries were over seasoned and cold. Her burger was mediocre. This was my second time here and will be my last. The first time I went was within a couple weeks of opening and I wasn't impressed. I see they never got the kinks out. It would hurt a little less if it wasn't so over priced. The "new" Bricks is nothing like the "old" Bricks, if you ever went to the old location. They notched their operation up tenfold. This is as close to fine dining as you will find is the north metro. Heck with it, this IS fine dining (without the haute cuisine price tag). It's a bit loud if you're looking for a quiet atmosphere, but not conversation-stifling loud. Had the Nachos as and appetizer and they were nothing more than a plate of cheese and chicken on top of chips. For $15 we weren't off to a great start. By the time we started eating our Smoked Chicken Pasta, we found ourselves glad to have shared the dish. Not terrible but very unworthy of the price. Absolutely love the food here. I haven't had a time where I ate here and didn't like the food or drinks! I have to also give HUGE props to our waiter Gabe who was phenomenal! Ask for him as your server if you are there. You will get the best service a waiter could give with him! Bricks has a pretty decent selection of beers on tap. My recommendation is to do the $8 BYO flight. You get a choice of 4 beers from their tap list (some will be at a $1-$3 up charge based on the beer) but it makes choosing one from the list a little easier! My favorite so far has been the Buffalo Sweat Sweet Stout. For food, I can't brag enough about the delicious choices. When I went recently I got the Yucca fries to start with. I haven't had them since I was in Mexico and I have to say this place nailed them. They had the PERFECT amount of seasoning and that cilantro aoli made them even better. I suggest getting these if you are stuck on picking a starter to share! For the main course I got the Aged Grilled Cheese. That by far was the best grilled cheese I have had at any restaurant. It was huge for one, and it had tomatoes and avocado in the middle which just brought it to the next level! Also, if you are looking at your side choices, the asparagus with hollandaise sauce is to die for! I haven't had dessert here since my last visit and my meal filled me up so much that I couldn't order one this time, but if the rest of the food speaks for itself, I can assume the dessert would be out of this world too. This place can get pricey, but if you want a great meal that will leave you full and satisfied for your money. I highly suggest you head over here! I'm so happy that this place is in Blaine. Great place to go for work lunches. I've been here for lunch 5 times since they opened and for an after work happy hour once. I've ordered different things from the regular menu and the specials each time and everything has been really good. It's definitely not fast, but I've always gotten out of there for lunch in an hour or less. I've certainly never had a problem with the service - it's always been prompt and friendly. In the summer, the patio is really nice. I would highly recommend it just for that alone. There aren't a ton of nice patio spaces in this area so this one really stands out. The happy hour I went to was just last week. We ended up having a much larger party than expected and they let us move tables without any issues. The service was really good and the servers dealt with all the separate tickets and different requests well. The appetizers were good too. The beer list is great! There were so many I wanted to try, I was sad I had to drive home. I think it's definitely worth a try. read more

My family and I are fairly new to Blaine and we were told about Bricks almost immediately. When we tried to find them, they were closed. Unbeknownst to us, they were building a brand new, stand-alone restaurant just a little ways from their original place of business. I personally enjoyed my experience. The service wasn't spectacular, but the food hit the spot. I had a burger and my wife had pasta and we started with a flatbread appetizer. My wife said her meal was okay, but we were both fans of the flatbread and my burger was awesome. They also serve beer from a very local brewery (Hammerheart Brewery) which I very much enjoy. It's a little on the pricey side ($60 for two people) but I'll definitely be going back! read more

I wonder why 27 reviews that are list as not recommend are not included in the Bricks review. There 27 reviews consist of 1 and 2 star; ratings that seem to be more in line with my experience there. Sunday dinner. Place was half filled. Took 45 minutes for two sandwiches and chicken nuggets for the kids. We were with another couple and I didn't want to complain about my meal. We all walked outside and then I discover that everyone was disappointed in their meal. The number one complaint, bland, lack of flavor. And why do they bring fries to the kids before their meal? The kids filled up on French fries and didn't want to eat their meal. For a place to hang out and have a drink, this place may be ok. But I rated it a 1 star, which indicates that Bricks is on my "do not go list". Total disappointment. read more
