This may be my new favorite place to go. A friend of mine and I decided we wanted to go someplace we have never been before, and I'm so sad that it took us this long to find Bricks. It is 12/10 delicious!! We had some tasty cocktails that we definitely only needed one of ;) The chicken nachos were the BEST I have ever had. I loved everything we ate, but I cannot stop thinking about these nachos. A little spicy kick, enough toppings for all your chips, and I enjoy the juxtaposition of the cool salsa on top of the warm ingredients. The textures and flavors complemented each other well, great balance and no ingredient overpowered the others. The BBQ pizza was to die for. I enjoy that they shred the meat rather than dicing so it really absorbed the flavors. The bbq sauce was sweet, but not overly so. The house pickles remind me of my mom's refrigerator pickles, fresh and crisp rather than briny and crunchy. I love the punch from fresh jalapeños, green and spicy, but doesn't overwhelm the other flavors. The steak was cooked perfectly and so tender. The mashed potatoes were exceptional with the seasoned sour cream, and when they say loaded? They mean LOADED. Tons of toppings, enough for every bite. I was so excited that the Brussels sprouts were a crisp steam, then tossed with bacon and cheese, rather than roasted. I love steamed vegetables, and I feel the don't get the love they deserve. My friend only likes roasted, so I got them all to myself! I had to get the s'mores soufflé for dessert because I always pick chocolate and I'm a sucker for marshmallows. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, and to my delight, it was like a little lava cake and so much toasty marshmallow. Not burnt, but perfectly golden so you get that little smokiness. The graham crackers were a great crunch. The strawberry skillet cookie was very tasty and gooey in the middle, and not overly sweet. And just as important as all that, Mason, our server was fantastic. Very sweet, recommended the coveted nachos, and never made us feel rushed. The staff as a whole was fantastic. Our table was prebussed so it was never cluttered even with how many dishes we ordered. We will definitely be back, and can't wait to see what we try next time, provided we don't just get the same thing since it so yummy! read more

Not sure why this place doesn't have better reviews, it was great. Ordered a chicken sandwich and chicken wild rice soup and they were both really flavorful and delicious. My husband, our friends, and their kids all enjoyed their food as well. We made it in time for happy hour and got discounted tap beers. Great service and a nice ambiance with the big fireplaces and comfortable booths. No complaints, definitely recommend. read more

There wasn't many people in here on a weekend which should've been a red flag since the area was really busy at the time. Service was slow. It must not be a great place to work because literally, not one person who worked there had a smile on their face, they all looked miserable to be there. The atmosphere was ok, if it was busy, I could see it being loud in there. The food was way overpriced for what you get. It was super greasy and so heavy on the garlic that you couldn't taste anything else. We won't go back there. read more

First time here and one of the best burgers I've ever had. Perhaps some of the prices are why the ratings are less than I would expect. (Average 2.5 stars). In Blaine, $49 for a ribeye probably turns some of the locals off. Pure speculation on my part. I definitely will come back to try other items. read more

UPSCALE SPORTS BAR We came here on a Friday night, but it was surprisingly quiet. Oh yeah, fishing opener. We had a reservation, but after perusing her notes, the hostess told us that it was for the following eve. Funny, as we had a confirmation call earlier that day, hmmm. Whatever. Didn't care for the location of our table for 6, but sometimes you just take what you get. The patio looked really nice, but it was a tad chilly for that. We were all delighted to see that the menu had exceptional sounding food, even the kid's menu. Our 5 yr old was offered a STEAK! She devoured it! Everything we ordered was fantastic! I had the Bolognese Pasta and it was outstanding. I like how all the pasta selections are small portions, it was perfect! We had a variety of cocktails, and while tasty, they were slow to arrive. Our celebration dinner was well over 2 hours long, too long for a gramma and 5 yr old. Everything was just slow, slow, slow. The excellent food was great, and I realize that proper preparation takes time, but gee whiz. I think that it was just one of those "out of sync" nights for the staff, it happens. I love the food at Bricks. Never a bad meal. If I want good food it's always one of the first places I think of. The 4 star review is due to the bartender and the drink pours. When I'm paying more than $10 for a drink I want more than 1 shot of booze in my drink. My whisky soda tasted like soda. It was a short and wasn't even a full glass. Not sure what this mess is but is not a Margherita pizza. The "aged balsamic" takes over the taste of everything else. The crust has no taste other than the crunch, cheese taste like nothing is there yet it's present as you can see. The basil (what basil) is added before the pizza goes into the oven.. what?! I had a "honey crisp" cider which was tasty and crisp, I guess since the staff had nothing to do with it this remains true to its name. I have been coming here since it opened. Somthings changed, but it's a great place for lunch or dinner. The truffle fries a yes! I was shocked to see such low reviews. Some I can understand. But a lot are stuck up soccer moms complaining about not making a reservation and it being busy or not letting their dogs come in and no, not a service animal. I wrestled between a 1 star and 2 star review for this one, ultimately landing on the 2 stars for now. I have eaten at Bricks a handful of times in this location and a few more in the earlier location. It seems as though Bricks is trying to find its identity and because of that, is so hit and miss whenever I've tried it. Recent experiences of dining at Bricks twice in the last two weeks are compiled in this review. Happy Hour menu - yes, they offer food for happy hour and no, I wouldn't recommend either the Elk meatloaf sliders or the $5 burger and fries. The Elk meatloaf sliders contained roughly an 1 1/2 inch of Elk sausage sliced in half and one half put on each slider bun - so teeny tiny amount of meat for $11 happy hour special. The $5 burger and fries, waitress asked 'pink or no pink?', pink was the request. The burger comes out with a bun and the piece of meat, no toppings and sans sauces. The pink or no pink inquiry was worthless as the burger was done, done, done - shoe leather! Unfortunately for Bricks, a better tasting burger and fry deal can be gotten at any of the local fast food establishments. Lastly, each time I've ordered an Arnie Palmer to drink it has taken significant time to arrive, to the point that I've thought it was forgotten, and then finally showed up after the food, so service is sssllloooww. Bricks has some good things going for it - location! The Blaine area is in desperate need of non chain variety of dining options. Ambience - great outdoor seating, great fireplace, love the large bar, the small party space, and the separate party room. I have enjoyed the Fruit and Bibb salad - good portions and mixture of contemporary flavors. If Bricks can figure some of the challenges out that have plagued them for years, this could be a great place. I really hope to be able to raise the review here in the future. read more

They don't seem to remember who you are even after coming to the restaurant many many times now. Came in at 930 on a Friday night (St Patrick's Day.) Seated after a couple minutes. Place about half full. We enjoyed a cherry apple hard cider and a Jameson and Ginger Beer cocktail + some happy hour pub items. Both excellent! Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. Crab cake sliders were tender and savory with good chunks of crab and delicious sauce. Burger was good but appeared to be a pre-formed or frozen patty. Brioche bun was great! Fries are thin cut and crispy. Very tasty. Got a Guinness chocolate cake with Jameson cream to go for dessert. So amazing! read more

New Menu. There are no crab cakes, there's a new burger menu. I didn't even want crab cakes, but now I'm wondering what else was on the old menu. The Bourbon shrimp tasted like a spicy cajun. Hope you like lots of grits. I didn't know what grits were before, still don't. Mouth feels like pebbles in my mashed potatoes. Went for Easter. $25 dollars, family style buffet. Server and helpers were awful, probably 30 min before a piece of food made it to table. Coffee and juice not included. Round one; shrimp/salmon. One shrimp and maybe 1oz of salmon per person. Maybe they would have kept bring more but server never offered. Ham was nothing special, no beef options, my Muslim wife (who's a real battle axe would not shut up about it.) Eggs, bacon, potato's, and sausage were great. Overall poorly executed, shrimp plate made them look cheap. Save your Easter brunch money next time and cook at home with friends and family. The atmosphere is great upon walking in. However, the service was terrible. They bring a bottle of water that they chill to the table, it was a warm 5th of May, we ordered water with lemon. We didn't get an additional water container or our lemons. Our waiter got a party, understandable but she couldn't balance the party and her other tables at all. After 20min of waiting we got to place our order. Only reason I'm giving 2 stars was cause the food was cooked perfectly. The Elk burger was a beautiful medium rare and the honey glazed Brussel sprouts were delicious. The kitchen is wonderful, it's just a shame the wait staff is sub par. read more

I REALLLLLY wanted to find this place at a better rating. The ambience/decor is definitely one of the best for this area and with its prices, I thought for sure it would be as good as some of the lovely places I find in the cities. Like the other reviews- the service...ugh! Slow. Seriously slow. I went there for lunch. There were exactly 4 other parties there for the whole time I was here. 2 of them were single men dinning alone, the other was a couple and one table had 3 elderly people. It took us and hour and a half to get out of there. There was no reason it should have been that long. The waitress was great but it shouldn't have taken that long to get every single thing from drinks to dessert. I started with the crab cake appetizer. It was ok. The microgreens where way past prime looming but still added flavor. I had the Brick Cobb salad. $15 salad. It was not any different than any other Cobb salad I've had anywhere else. My lunch pal had the elk meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes. It was not bad. I give them points for the visual appearance and for using elk in a decent way. It was not fabulous in flavor though. Somewhat beige tasting if you know what that means. Heavy, kind of greasy, blah tasting. Dessert- this was a better! We shared the Almond cake with in house made Grand Marriner whipped cream. The whipped cream was phenomenal! The cake was a bit dry and not fresh tasting but the whipped cream made it good. What they do have right...the beer selection. They had some great local crafted brews. And they have a good happy hour beer price. You can even create your own flight of beers. So I maybe back for having a beer with a friend. Server was great, food was good, beer list is terrible, and the first impression at the host stand is off-putting. Was there for a family gathering and had the private room in the back. Our server was great, there when you needed her, on top of getting things refilled, and most importantly to me, she was kind and patient with my kids. We ordered off a menu in advance, and my sirloin steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. Those two items earn five stars. The beer list was unimaginative and basic. Expected more from this place and especially since they had so many on tap, they were just all blah beers (to a one they had all low Untappd ratings). I had a Stone Enjoy By 7/04/21 (which they had named incorrectly on the beer menu) and it was awful. I've had that beer lots of times (in earlier versions) and this was so far off there must have been something gross in the line. My wife had Laguanitas IPA and that has a very distinct flavor (that all their beers have) and it was also off. I switched from beer to the old fashioned as a result, which was delicious. Also, the host stand when you walk in is a bit of a disaster, and as first impressions go, not a good one. If you have see-through cabinets, what you keep in them has to be neat and clean - this was neither, and the overall appearance was just rough. So those two items brings the review to 3.5. It is FAR from my home, so unlikely I would be back, but would not be sad if I had the chance to try it again. read more

If you haven't tasted the Chicken pancetta with the home made noodles and breaded egg.....Wow! Tuna Tartar is the best I've had maybe ever! The specials are always fun and interesting (tonight is Wild Boar Sliders, they are amazing). The Staff is pleasant and works hard to please. Great facility and atmosphere. Very yummy burger and fries. One of the burgers was a lettuce wrap burger. Burgers were done perfect with some pink in them and the fries were nice and hot. The only thing I'm not a big fan of is a la carte pricing which they have on there menu. Burgers came with fries. Great drink selection plenty for everyone. I have accepted that their food is not so great. Pluses are - Good location for Blaine, family owned / not a chain restaurant. So we tried late night after dinner drinks date. Ordered "The Manhattan" and classic old fashion. The Manhattan was ok but the old fashion was overly sweet. Bar tender said that she used simple syrup (instead of a sugar cube). She was nice enough to add more whiskey to it. But at which point I realized it was - black velvet, a rail whiskey. For $8 - $10 drinks they use rail alcohol! I can pay $2 more and have masterfully crafted cocktails at Marvel bar. They do have good beer list. Sadly I am not a beer fan. read more

We had a nice time at Bricks last night. The 2.0 burger was amazing! Some of the portions were small, but I, as an American, have come to be used to large portions. Food is really, very good. The menu seems to change often (or they have specials often?). My two gripes are: 1. Shady upselling from the waitress. 2. The healthcare tax added to every check. Let's start with the positives..... I LOVE that Blaine has a restaurant that isn't a chain - a couple of them, in fact! Bricks is by far one of the nicest, least "suburban" restaurants we have here. The new location is great - the space is very nice, the patio is great (tables and couches!, fireplace). I hear they have an extensive tap offering but I didn't not drink anything. On our visit we sat on the patio and it was very nice (covered as well). Service was fine. I ordered the turkey sandwich with a side salad. Here's where things go downhill a bit. First, the side salad was nothing more than lettuce with a couple pieces of tomato. I know they must have some onion, cheese, cucumber or croutons back there - fancy this stuff up! Especially considering that (second), everything here is "upscaled". The turkey sandwich isn't just a turkey sandwich with cheese, it's (paraphrasing) "House roasted turkey with mixed baby greens, manchengo cheese, garlic aoli and pomegranite gastric". In the end...it was just a turkey sandwich. Maybe it had a different cheese on it, maybe it had fancy greens, and a splash of something sweet tasting, but it was still just a Turkey Sandwich. Not "Wow, this is a fancy delicious sandwich!" just "Yeah, this is a turkey sandwich." Now, this is FINE if the price reflects it. But if the taste can't meet the description and price I feel it's just needlessly pretentious or something. And my concern is that if you translate this "fancy title, average taste" across the rest of the menu....you're left with overpriced, moderate food. Nobody wants that. So - PLEASE go for the great space, the patio, the beers, the company. But maybe tread lightly with expectations on the food. read more

I don't see this establishment lasting very long... let me tell you why. The menu online has nothing on it that's on the actual menu, the food wasn't upscale like they say... adding micro greens, dried herbs and weirdly jazzed up sysco sauces isn't upscale, the waitresses are inattentive and focus on who they think will pay the bill and add an automatic gratuity (which she screwed herself out of a larger tip by automatically adding an 18% tip.), everything is ala cart, and they don't double check the food before serving it. The rib eye steak was good, although the steak sauce they put on it is a mix of marinara and bbq. The mashed potatoes are swimming in butter topped with sharp dry herbs that poke your gums and get stuck in your teeth, the asparagus is thinner than a pencil topped with shredded parmesan and served cold. The kids menu is nice and a fair price. They have free refills on soda and don't charge as much as upscale places, the water is really good too! It has a nice layout and outdoor seating with a garage door I'm guessing they open when the weather is nice. The street view hides the Restaurant which made it hard to find. We were there for dinner and not even half of the Restaurant was full, which is never a good sign. Will I be back? Probably not. I'd rather spend less money and go to a charhouse in the cities with better quality food, accurate menus and attentive staff. I really wanted to like this place! read more

They still spray outdoor tables years after with bleachwater that blows all over you and your food (I had no choice my boss wanted to go here) and now they add a tax to your bill for employee healthcare rather than have it as an expense buried in the food price - and the waitresses verbally sparred with me inquiring about it stating I didn't see it now printed on the menu as if I was not alert enough. read more
