3rd plate of cold eggs not eaten exhibit 3
Misty A.

We had high hopes for Bricks in Blaine after a decent experience the week before, but today's breakfast was a complete letdown--and frankly, an embarrassment for any restaurant claiming to serve quality food. We all ordered the same breakfast plate, and the problems were obvious the moment the waiter set them down. The bacon wasn't just overcooked--it was burnt to the point of crumbling into dust when touched. The eggs were cold. Not lukewarm. Cold. It was baffling that this was even allowed to leave the kitchen. To his credit, the waiter acknowledged the bacon was burnt and promised to bring fresh bacon and eggs. He returned with new bacon--but no eggs. At that point, we didn't bother pressing it further. We were hungry, so we picked at the potatoes, left the eggs untouched, and took the bacon home for the dogs. That's how low the bar had dropped. The manager never came over. No apology. No explanation. Just a quiet $4 discount per meal, which felt more like a slap in the face than a gesture of goodwill. We paid over $60 for a breakfast that left us disappointed, frustrated, and still hungry. There's a reason Bricks wasn't packed on a Sunday morning after church. We found out the hard way. We won't be back.

Ordered the soup of the day which happened to be a lobster chowder and absolutely loved it!! It was very creamy!! The chicken sandwich and the meatloaf wasn't bad either-- I just wish it had more sauce!! The service was awesome and the ambience was really good. I thought the restaurant was pretty and the chairs were very comfortable.

I wanted breakfast food on a Sunday morning before a game. Brick's Kitchen and Pub was on our way. Service was good and friendly. We weren't rushed to make a decision. She came back and checked on us after we got our food. Our food was good. We especially liked the blackberry jam/sauce we got with the cheese curds. It had a perfect amount of spice. We wouldn't have minded having a little more it was so good. We had the eggs Benedict and a breakfast platter. The potatoes were especially noteworthy because they were crisp. The bacon was nice and crispy. The English muffin was thick. My husband said his Eggs Benedict was good. My scrambled eggs were bland and I could have gotten salt and pepper I'm sure I just didn't make the effort. It was a nice clean place with a classy look.

Bricks is a solid restaurant with a nice location in Blaine. Always easy to find parking and get in. A mix of nice dining and sports bar vibe. Love the ambiance of the restaurant. Food is average, prices are high. Service is decent. It is a solid option in Blaine.

Food 4/5 - My favorite two appetizers were the cheese curds and shrimp n' grits, definitely recommend both. Service / Ambiance 4/5 - Service was helpful and quick. The restaurant was well maintained and clean.

Nashville Chicken Sandwich

We had a break from a soccer tournament so decided to eat here for dinner. Loved the tvs with live sporting events. Food was all fair. Our server was great and the ambiance is overall good.

Ranch house Chicken Sandwich- great crunch and the smoky flavor of the ranch was an awesome compliment!

What a shame to see such low reviews! I had stayed away from this restaurant for awhile due to the lower reviews but decided to check it out today because they have a beautiful outdoor patio area. The vibe check here is great! The inside and outside are decorated beautifully and have an upscale feel to them! There is rich dark wood throughout the space and some fireplaces as well! The patio area has roughly 10-15 tables, a large fireplace and a separate area with cushioned seating over looking a small pond. The service here was very friendly and prompt. Truly my only complaint is that I ordered an appetizer and it came out the same time as my meal. Now to the most important part: THE FOOD! I started with the Cherry picker Collin's. Very refreshing and not overly "alcohol" tasting! Very nice! I ordered the bourbon shrimp. This was $22 for a starter... definitely steep for an appetizer! I will say it is a extremely tasty! You get 6 shrimp that were seasoned very well! The grits were a perfect consistency and cheesy! For my entree I got the ranch house chicken sandwich! It was crunchy and the smoky ranch was a spectacular touch! I opted to sub out my fries and get the green beans! These are some of the best green beans I've ever had! The glaze, peanuts and green beans had so many flavors and textures that all just worked! Highly recommend!! I would absolutely tell people to come and check this place out! Let's push these guys into the 4-5 star category where they belong!

Delicious food again last night at Bricks. Our server was very attentive. Beer was cold and food nummy! I think their prices are a smidge high but it doesn't keep me from coming back for more. The salmon was $27.99 and a little smaller than the size I pay $20.99 for at a competitor diner. The sides are enormous actually enough to share with 3 people. Their cheesy grits are fabulous too, so light and creamy and seasoned to perfection. My girlfriend also ordered the salmon and she mentioned it was too salty for her so she scraped a lot of the topping off of hers. Their chips and cheese presented well and had just the right bite to it. Don't get me wrong, I love this place. I am just sharing my good and so so feelings in the post. Very warm atmosphere as well, not too busy for a Thursday night during happy hour.

Took my daughter here last night for dinner. Service and ambiance was spot on for the mood we were in, chill and low key. Menu is simple and not over baring. I got the blackened steak tacos off the app menu, she got the American burger with truffle fries. Everything was really good.

Food was great! Those Brussel Sprouts and Loaded Mashed potatoes were on point!!! Tuna was beautiful! Service was wonderful.

Upon entering, you will notice a small bar with an adequately stocked bar, featuring about 8 taps and a number of canned and bottled beers for your liking. There are plenty of high-top tables and booths to accommodate a decent crowd. MaGillycuddy's Bar is one of those places that instantly makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between cozy and relaxed, thanks in no small part to the awesome tin ceiling-- it kind of gives this place a vintage charm you don't see often. The crowd is just what one would expect, just regular folks enjoying a libation and watching the Wild game. And they have pulltabs!! We settled in on a high-top table and ordered beers and our lunch. The Nashville Hot Shrimp is a must-try. just the right amount of heat, and packed with flavor. The Guinness cheeseburger is an open-faced burger topped with fries, Guinness cheese sauce, and, of course, bacon. That was a bit messy, and was enjoyable, but there are some other items I will want to try before going back to that entree. Between the solid food offerings, the friendly vibe, and the cool interior, MaGillycuddy's has all the makings of a local favorite. If you're anywhere near Aonka, do yourself a favor and stop in--you won't regret it.

If I were still a drinker (which I am not), this is the kind of neighborhood bar I would seek out for an evening of drinks. The good: service was excellent. Our waitress ended up getting blindsided with a very large group just before 11:00 a.m. Were talking 25-30 people, half of whom were young kids. She had every reason to be cranky or frustrated, but she managed our large group with grace and class. Bloody Mary Bar: The place has a Bloody Mary bar, full of fixings. As a former drinker, this would have been a treat. Large space: there is a large game-room area with dart boards and two pool tables. The mediocre: the food was hit or miss. The breakfast was a bit high priced for the portion size. The burger was average. The fries were excellent. Atmosphere: This is a bar that serves food. The regulars are laid back - they were a welcoming group who kindly put up with a large group of kids running around the place. This is not the type of place that I would seek out for an evening with the family. However, it is the kind of place I'd seek out - during my former drinking years - as a go-to neighborhood bar to watch the game and drink copious amounts of alcohol around a relatively friendly group of people.

I was able to make a reservation and it made no comments about any extra details about that day. Upon arrival we were surprised by a $20 cover charge. We grab one of the last two tables outside and we couldn't even talk as a group as the band was soo loud. Like couldn't even hear each other at our own table. We asked the host to see about the other patio and they said it's $5 more a person and no we couldn't go up without paying even to just look. We decided to check the event online and noticed that the event had advertised as "no cover" so we were misled. We spoke with the manager who was initially reluctant to offer any compensation or understanding of the situation. Eventually she allowed us to move inside for our money back. It was at this time that we also found out that we had been double charged for wristbands as people had arrived at different times. The manager helped us to solve the dilemma but she was again not the kindest and was short. If I could review that part of the experience alone I would say 0/5 stars. Lucky our time here did turn around, the server for our table was so kind and attentive. The pizzas were very good. Perfect for any group with plenty other of options. Pizza is what is on the menu downstairs and the upstairs has a fancier menu. They were offering football special and free shots during the game but they didn't seem to have it all figured out. We got our shots after about 10 more minutes if game went by. It seems they are really trying to bring people in for the game and drive business but it was pretty quiet by half time. Hope they find something that works.
