Grilled Chicken Sandwich was good, has sitting inside and an outdoor patio with a view of the water.

Combine fresh food. ( Friendly service, and awesome views. And you get Brickmakers cafe. I loved my chicken salad sandwich on fresh wheat bread. Came with Chips. Husband had a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. He thought it was great. Beautiful setting on the Occoquan River was very serene. Highly recommend.

Outstanding location, off-the-beaten-path but still very close to the Occoquan historic district. I was so pleasantly surprised with the large menu, compared to similar locations in the DMV, and most importantly the HH and good value they offer. There used to be a time during COVID that the Washingtonian had identified all food places by the water, and this place had been on my list then. Great as a destination in and of itself or as part of a hike nearby, to have a cold drink and bite, and take in the river/boat views.

I came across this gem during a random stop to visit Occoquan Park. This restaurant was not here when I visited several years ago. I visited with my girlfriend on a gorgeous day and we absolutely enjoyed overlooking the river. We only ordered drinks, but all the food we saw looked great. The park is free and the prices here are exceptionally reasonable and the variety is solid for a park cafe. They offer salads, grilled food, fry baskets, and cold sandwiches.

Pros: we had lunch on the patio on June 11,2025. The food was excellent, the service was good and the outdoor patio is breathtaking and beautiful. Cons: big size black flies were roaming around and landed couple of times on my food plate, they transmit bacteria and viruses and also annoying, they multiply, feed and grow in the open trash cans, as it is clearly shown in the pictures of the trash cans on the patio, the trash cans has 4 openings on the sides Suggestions: upgrade the trash cans to a covered and enclosed.

Good food, order up and wait. Salad was outstanding, and the turkey sandwich also good. Sitting outside overlooking the river is a great venue.

Beautiful and quiet little waterfront cafe'! Great food, friendly employees! Patio has a lot of seating with umbrellas.

We go to the regional park regularly and never thought to go to Brickmakers until today. Why... happy hour starts at 2:00, so of course we had to try it out. It was a beautiful 70 degree November day, and we decided to eat our sandwiches outdoors. The food was perfect, but the views were beautiful. Do yourself a favor and try it out. Oh, and if you haven't been to Occoquan Regional Park you can thank me for that too!

I lived here for almost four years and had no clue this tucked-away gem existed in my backyard! It is a perfect place to enjoy some lunch while hanging out next to the water on a bright sunny day. The great thing is that they allow dogs and have indoor as well as outdoor seating. The food is well-portioned, the fries are crispy, and the burgers are tasty. Honestly, the only critique I can possibly give this place is that their outdoor seating, although beautiful, could use a little more shade, possibly a large canopy. The staff is friendly and the food is reasonably priced for the area. Go and enjoy a nice afternoon on the deck or a great sandwich indoors.

Love the views by the water here! But sadly I went on a rainy day so I wasn't able to sit outside and enjoy the view. As for the food I got the popcorn shrimp platter and my mom thought it was a bit on the salty side! But my brother got a bratwurst sandwich and he really enjoyed it!! Their portions are big and they gave a lot of fries.

Looking for a place for lunch today, we happened in to Brickmakers Cafe, which is at the Occoquan Regional Park in Lorton, VA. At Brickmakers, you order at the front, and they give you a pager. Then when your pager goes off, you pick up your food at the front counter. Brickmakers has an outside eating area, overlooking the Occoquan reservoir. Today everyone was out there because it was a beautiful afternoon. We started with some Fried Calamari strips, which we ordered because they were out of oysters. Calamari strips were very good. For lunch my wife had a turkey and avocado on croissant, which she reported as just fine. I had ham and Swiss on marbled rye. It was good, but a little too much brown mustard for my taste. We washed it all down with water. The counter service was very polite and our food came quick. They were good, standard sandwiches. We weren't going there for a fine culinary experience. We wanted a nice decent lunch, and that's what we got. We would go again.

We used to visit the Occoquan Reginal Park often, but for some reason we stopped about 10 years ago. A couple of months ago we went back and were surprised by the new facility' improvements, especially the new Visitor's Center (fast becoming a very popular venue for weddings!). The Brickmaker's Cafe is located in the lower level of the Visitor's Center, with a typical "grill menu" (burgers, chicken strips, salads, etc.). We have been back six times already, and has become one of our favorite places to hang out. The food is good, if a little on the expensive side; the a a great rotating selection of craft beers, ciders and wines, which you can enjoy in their outdoor area overlooking the Occoquan river. Their staff is very friendly. Very nice!

Good if you want to be near water. Located in the park, food doesn't stand out but people are nice.

First things first: clearly the camera did not eat first here, and honestly, that tells you…read moreeverything you need to know. We tried three items: the red velvet cake, the mocha cake, and an apple pastry (not sure of the exact name, but it reminded me of an apple turnover/empanada). Let's start with the red velvet cake, so good. Moist, flavorful, and honestly better than I expected. Red velvet is one of those cakes that's easy to mess up, but they executed it perfectly. What impressed me even more is that we bought it right before closing, didn't eat it immediately, and it still tasted amazing hours later even after being refrigerated. The mocha cake was well-made, soft, spongy, and clearly high quality, but it just wasn't for me. It has a strong coffee flavor, so if you're a coffee person, you'll probably love it. For me, it was about a 6/10. Now the real star: the apple pastry. This was everything. Perfectly flaky, lightly crisp on the outside, and filled with fresh, flavorful apples. It melted in your mouth! could've easily eaten multiples of these!! Service was also a highlight. Even though we came in right before closing, the staff was kind, patient, and efficient. Nothing felt rushed, which I really appreciated. The shop itself is cute and quaint. Perfect for a quick stop or a casual treat. Overall, Paris Baguette delivered. Some items may come down to personal preference, but the quality is there. I'd absolutely go back, especially for that red velvet cake and the apple pastry . Sidenote: they also have candles & birthday decor for purchase!

Prices seem steep . It was just okay. If I needed a snack…read moreand nothing else around I would try something different. But thats the only reason why. Not terrible just not good
