The good: main course (Vinny's Homemade Rigatoni Bolognese) was delicious. Decent portion and well done. Good draft/bar selection and the decor was great. Felt at home with a great casual vibe. The bad: got charged for a salad I didn't order. The salad came out early and I assumed it was with the main course (after all it was top billing and the most expensive pasta dish on the menu.... least you could do was throw on a house salad). Salad wasn't bad but it was a solid 5/10..... nowhere amazing enough to be worth $10 especially when I never asked for it! Food is good but I feel it's overpriced... especially for something classified as two dollar signs on yelp. Bar items were priced fine... but I feel the salads are over the top. Casual Dinner for two (one salad w/chicken for my wife and a pasta special for me..... plus the salad I didn't order) with one beer ran $70 with tip and although the food/service was great it was no place near the quality/quantity/experience you'd expect for that kind of money. One of my favorite places to go for Italian. If you to dinner here on weekend I would suggest to go early. Half of the restaurant is a bar and the other side is a sit down. It is very small so if you have a large party ( more than 8) it will feel really crammed. Buttt the food and drinks are definitely worth it! I'm surprised by the positive reviews as the pizza from Brickhouse Cafe is some of the worst that I've had in ages. After living in NYC for many years I understand that I may have become a bit of a pizza snob but I really tried to give the pies a chance. The dough appeared to be have been previously frozen and had a cracker like texture. The "cheese" tasted like fake cheese from slice joints and was not "Buffalo Mozzarella" as advertised. The basil was piled up on individual slices in little bunches and the sauce was unremarkable. It cost $40 for 3 nearly inedible pizzas. I got take out to bring to visit family members and had to apologize for bringing such awful food. I'm very disappointed in the craftsmanship and quality of the so-called "Neapolitan" pies and won't be back. read more

I'm not huge fan of Breakfast but I recently went the Brickhouse for Sunday brunch and both the breakfast and the service were both outstanding! I followed it with some take- out a few nights later and dinner was fantastic too. If you want great food and service be sure to add the Brickhouse to your list. read more

I had swordfish in a unique way at Brickhouse. It was called a Swordfish Chop. Unlike a traditional swordfish steak, the chop was bone in. I'm not sure what part of the fish the bone was associate with, but I assumed it was part of the jaw. Regardless, it was very tasty and cooked very well. I was told that this dish was not served very frequently at the restaurant. With a side of fresh asparagus and creamy risotto, it was a very enjoyable dish. Service was great and attentive. The owner is a former boxer and the decor is a boxing theme. Fear not non boxing fans, it is not overwhelming. Typically there is a local team sports event on the TVs at the bar. Brickhouse is a good choice if you are in the mood for traditional American or Italian food including pasta, chicken, steak and seafood dishes. Something for everyone. read more

We've been going to the Brickhouse Cafe lately as our regular "grab a bite to eat" place. It seems we can always get a couple of seats at the bar with a minimal wait. The food is consistently good and the drinks are generous all around. The pizza is cracker thin but a little under seasoned. Pizza is such a personal thing, some love it and some don't. I came here for brunch a couple weeks ago and I would totally come back! Their food was solid and I enjoyed it. There isn't anything crazy special about the menu but if you're looking for traditional, American brunch food, then I would recommend coming here. The person I came with and I got the heavyweight, which comes with "choice of 2 pancakes or 4 french toast, 3 eggs, 3 strips of bacon, 3 sausages, ham & home fries" (we got french toast), this jalapeño burger, corned beef hash, two rounds of mimosas, and coffee of course. We shared the food and the heavyweight was pretty good. The home fries were a bit dry but the rest of the food was fine. The two standout items we ordered were the corned beef hash and the jalapeño burger. The corned beef hash was simply amazing and we actually ended up ordering another serving. If I had to come back to this restaurant for only one thing, it would be the corned beef hash. And the jalapeño burger, which had a longer name to it but I don't remember what it was called and it's not on the online menu. It was a brunch special so that's probably why. We ordered it medium rare and the meat was really tasty. The bun was a bit weird but the meat made up for it. The fries that it came with it were dry like the home fries so we didn't end up eating much of those. I would definitely order the burger again. Mimosas were standard, $10 each so not badly priced. Another plus about this spot is that the food is cheap. I don't remember the exact prices but you really get a bang for your buck here. Service was good. The restaurant wasn't too busy when we got there so we were seated immediately. Our waitress was friendly and attentive but not too overbearing. All in all, I would return here! read more

Came for a late dinner (9:00pm) on a Friday night, we made a reservation so they were able to seat us right away. Our table was very small but the place was crowded so we didn't mind. We started with the margarita pizza - it was good but somewhat bland. For our main dishes we got the chicken parm and the chicken piccata - these were great! Unfortunately our waitress wasn't very attentive and we waited well over 15 minutes for her to pick up our card to pay the check. I've had brunch here in the past and it was great! I really did not enjoy the food here. The prices were a bit more than I was anticipating so I ordered the Margherita pizza. It was pretty disappointing; something was off with the sauce and the crust, and I ended up just chucking my leftovers. (I should add that I'm a college student, and until then I had thought my love of pizza was bottomless!) My dining companion liked her pasta dish, but it was swimming in a pool of oil (perhaps that is a style?). The restaurant itself is pretty cute. I love the food at the Brick House but I wasn't too thrilled tonight when I called from the road and made a reservation and when he said how many I said two adults and a baby. When we arrived there were two high chairs in the middle of the floor and so when we were seated I asked if we could have a high chair. She stated that a party who called and reserved days ago had two kids and they only have two high chairs. This was never mentioned to me over the phone. I have a very wirey 9 month old so I asked what I was supposed to do. It was 4:30. I asked when the other party was coming and she said 5. I said can I use it at least till they arrive? She said she didn't think that would be a good idea. You know what would have been a good idea? Telling me all of this when I called on the phone and mentioned that I had a baby. I also think it is time for them to order a few more high chairs. Honestly who only has two? I was extremely dissapointed. It will be a long time before I go back. Anyone with kids I guess reserve the highchair if you go here or you may have to turn right back around like I did. read more

Although I've been here several times before, this is my first review of this restaurant. We have always enjoyed eating here and usually go with a couple of friends. The food is usually a 3 1/2 to 4 star rating which is more than passable for the price point here. The service is about the same. The problem I have that should be shared happened during the meal we had tonight. We called for a 5:00 PM reservation earlier in the day for 4 adults and 1 small child. When my wife and I sat down prior to our friends getting there we were informed that We would need to vacate the table by 6:30 due to another party needing that table. Our friends showed up a few minutes later and we ordered apps to get things rolling while they checked out which entrees to get. When our waitress came back to take entree orders she re-informed us that we would need to be done soon. She then asked if we thought that we were not going to be through and gone by 6:30 that she'd like us to move to a bar table. So we moved. It took us 2 hours to finish our appetizers, entrees and desserts. We wouldn't have made the 6:30 deadline. Other than one of the high chairs being a stool (which we swapped out ourselves) it was fine to sit there. It just strikes me as being very unprofessional on the front of the house management to try and squeeze a table in so soon after us or so soon before the 6:30. It puts the server at a disadvantage from the start. I was in the reataurant industry for 10 + years and never heard of anything like that. I'm not sure I will give them any more of my business. I'd probably feel different if the manager apologized or explained their position but this didn't occur. read more

After reading nice reviews, we brought the family here only to be served sodden salads at $8 each, and heavily breaded veal parm, which, when I peeled off the coating, revealed a cardboard thin slice of meat of a color not usually associated with young calf. This was all slathered with a spicy red sauce and served with a pasta for another $21. Definitely not worth the cost. Maybe we all should have ordered something different. No wait! We did! Must have come here on the wrong night! I ate possibly the worst pasta dish I've had in my life. The homemade pasta was super tough (not "al dente", more like wheat jerky), and the sauce tasted like a 50:50 mix of chicken stock and dirty dishwater. My wife's wasn't much better. Chicken parm was like rubber! Either I have totally different taste buds than everybody else who likes the food here, or there was a mutiny in the kitchen that night. read more
