One of my favorite places to go in the area! The food is always great when we come here and always have had great friendly service. It can quite busy on the weekends but that is expected with a place that tasty. My go to top is the Rigatoni Alla Vodka with meatballs. The meatballs are huge and so so tasty. Food was good but very disappointed in how we were treated. I met up with 3 close friends. I came from Boston so was 10 minutes late. Reservation was at 6pm for 4. 2 of us arrived at 6;10. Before even taking our order, waitress said " oh we have another reservation after you for this table so keep that in mind". meaning we only had table for 90 minutes which would have been 7:30. At 7:05 she brought check and 7:10 said our other reservation is here. Really? We were only there for 70 minutes and they rushed us out. I hadn't even finished my glass of wine. We asked why we did t have until 7:30 and she said because 2 of us were there early they seated us early. Really? Never offered dessert and never brought us bread /oil. We all had an alcoholic beverage along with dinner. ( meaning decent sized bill) That has never happened before anywhere when I felt rushed out of a restaurant. I understand wanting to turn the tables over but if our reservation was at 6 shouldn't we have had table until 7:30? Not sure I will be going back anytime soon. Ginormous portions! Guess more for family style instead of individual portions... We ordered the rice balls and our server told us it was small, and you'll only be able to take 2 bites...when it came out, these little rice balls were hugh! More than 2 bites, it was filling...so don't be fooled...but we then quickly realized all the food portions are huge, and yes, compared to the other menu options that was a small plate. I got the frutti di mare with everything-shrimp, calamari, clams, and mussels. MY GOD. Tons of mussels! The most mussels I've ever seen on a frutti di mare! I'm guessing this was suppose to feed 3-4 people...I ate half of it on my own. It was quite tasty, my only problem with the dish was that the homemade pasta was a bit sticky. It clumped and I probably would have prefer a store bought pasta. So wrong I know, but the mushiness of the homemade pasta was not appetizing. Service was nice. Vinny even came around to say hi and tell us his story with Mohammed Ali. Funny buff little Italian man. Reminds me of Jersey Shore. read more

Have been meaning to try this place for a long, long time! Went with my wife and boys and in-laws. It is old-school Italian in a simple casual environment. The late Mayor Menino ate here and Mayor Walsh eats here so...you'd think it must be good. The food is so well done. We had the Chicken Marsala, Veal Marsala, Italian Combo, Steak Tips and the Shrimp Siciliano. Wow!! This is real deal Italian; Old School, baby!! Everything was so well-prepared, really tasty and nice-sized portions (truth be told, my wife did not love hers - the Shrimp Siciliano, but said it was good.) Son #1 had the Italian Combo which consisted of a GIGANTIC meatball (the largest that I have ever seen!), ravioli and chicken parm. He devoured it! Son #2 loved the Steak Tips! Both Marsalas were very good-sized portions and were excellent. The wine list was reasonable with reasonable prices. We don't often get dessert, but we ordered two: the cannoli and one I cannot presently recall (I had the cannoli which we shared. It came as three mini canollis which were as good as anything you'd get at Mike's in the North End. I licked the plate.) Our server Megan was excellent! She was friendly and efficient and took our orders without taking a note...and got everything right. Lastly, we sat by the window and my son noticed that his high school English teacher was in one of the photos on the wall. It turns out that his father is the owner - Vinny Marino - who came over to visit with us. We felt really taken care of in a very old school, Italian-joint kind-of-way, and we loved our experience here. We cannot wait to return!! read more

Despite the awesome reviews, we were definitely disappointed with the food. We ordered a chicken finger dinner, traditional pizza & ravioli with marinara. The chicken in the chicken finger/tender dinner seemed more like chicken parm, than tenders. It was pounded then & the breading resembled chicken parm; the menu doesn't state this is what you'll actually be receiving. My son only ate half of a "finger" and he loves chicken fingers. For the $18, the ravioli left much to be desired. It was overcooked & the portion was rather small; the sauce was delicious though. As for the pizza, we liked the thin crust but it definitely seemed pre cooked; the cheese/sauce separated from the crust as we ate it. Overall, for $48, it was just ok. read more

We popped in her for breakfast on a bit of a whim based on the good reviews (though there were only a few that specifically mentioned the breakfast being good). After visiting, I can confirm it's not a bad choice for breakfast! I ordered the biscuits and gravy and the corned beef hash. My friend has the classic "lightweight" breakfast which is just eggs + toast + home fries. The biscuits themselves were good, but not great. They were soft, but not as soft as they could have been. The gravy was good, but it lacked flavor. It needed more than just a creamy gravy base and chunks of sausage in it. I ended up mixing my corned beef hash into my gravy and that kicked it up a bit. Parking was a bit of a pain because this place is situated on a one way street so we had to loop around to park on that street from the right way, but we did find parking once we did that! Service was friendly and fast, no issues there. Overall, out of the minimal options right in Dedham, this one was good but I wouldn't drive out of Boston's more central area where there's more options to come to this one. read more

Fast and great local service. Portions are big so you won't leave hungry at all! We split the antipasto plate which was ok... not worth the money and seemed like it was mostly lettuce as a filler. The meatballs are HUGE, tasty, and worth it. We even said the sauce was on point. I got the special Spring salad with shrimp that came with pears, goat cheese (MY FAV), pistachios (oh yeah), and a bunch of other yummy stuff. For dessert we tried the tiramisu and the cannolis because we were in a large group. Both worth it. Cannolis have the slightest lemon flavor which was just enough and not over powering. Went here on a Saturday evening and had an ok meal. The place was certainly busy and loud, very loud. The food was ok and the service was slow. I ordered the clams posilipo and it was tasty. Not the best clams and pasta dish I've had but not the worst. Everyone else was pleased with their dinner. Friends took us there for breakfast. They told us it's always busy unless you go very early. We got there a little before 930am on a Saturday so we didn't have to wait to be seated, but it looked like it was starting to get busy. Food was great and the best part for me is that they had Nutella to bring for the cinnamon crusted French toast. A lot of places don't often have Nutella and that is very important for me on French toast . By the time we left around 1045 it was full so I do recommend going there early. Not even sure what we dipped it in, almost had an anchovie flavor, delicious. Three of us split the eggplant involtini which was excellent and a good size for $12. Friends enjoyed their cocktails at $11 and $13 and my $8 glass of Pinot Grigio was a good pour. I thought I might get something in addition to the grilled Caesar w anchovies ($13) but it was huge and no need for more. A bit overdressed and could have had a little more grill but enjoyed it. Friends split a large beet salad and margarita pizza. Service was great. Mentioning prices more than usual since the crappy online menu doesn't list any and even their restaurant menu doesn't list prices for beer and cocktails. Drives me crazy. Why would you do that, makes no sense. Lay it out for us please. Was surprised most entrees were more than $20 but such is life. Need to go back for chicken parm sometime. read more

I am giving this restaurant a rare five stars, as I was happy with every aspect of my visit, and will absolutely be back. I tried this place with coworkers based on recommendations from another coworker. I now fully trust their recommendations, as they were spot on with this restaurant. It is a nice cozy, clean setting, and lacks any of that cold and loud "chain restaurant" feel. The ambience is very nice, and would be suitable for a family, as well as date night. Some of my coworkers are rather annoying, but all of that temporarily disappeared because I had such a pleasant experience at this restaurant. The staff at this restaurant is very well trained, and they are courteous and professional. Our waitress was wonderful, and I appreciated her sense of humor, and her ability to take my sometimes bizarre sense of humor as well. She supplied just the right amount of sass. The restaurant, although small, is very cozy and comfortable, and somehow the tight seating doesn't bother you. It definitely supplies that small-town charm, and make sure experience better. The food was exquisite, from The entrées all the way through the desserts. The quality of the food was amazing, and I'm pretty sure my stomach almost ruptured due to how good the food was and my inability to stop when I was content. The portions they give you are very generous, and unless you have an eating problem, you will absolutely have left overs. The parking is across the street in a lot, and it seemed pretty easy when I got there. If you take your motorcycle, you may want to park on the street, as the lot is at a pretty severe angle. So glad we stopped in here for dinner, we are not familiar with the area and had to pick a place quickly to eat. It was so cute and cozy inside, we were seated at a table in the corner close to the bar. It was quite small inside but luckily there was no wait. I had the salmon with house made pasta (delish!) My husband has the sweet chili pork medallions and he loved it. One of the best meals he's had out for awhile. The garlic and oil for the bread was scrumptious. We ordered vegetarian stuffed mushrooms and arincini appetizers - I could have stopped there it was so satisfying. The steak tips and ribs were fall-off-the bone tender. My multigrain pasta (always a risky proposition) was perfectly cooked and tossed with veggies. The generous portion of proscuitto with the pasta was a little too much - making the pasta a little over salty. I didn't eat the seafood casserole...but there wasn't any remaining when my companion finished. Lots of folks were waiting patiently around the bar for a table. We were visiting for the weekend and found this place on yelp, basically searching local places to eat for every meal and yelp is the answer. The pic of the triple (!) eggs Benedict sold me and we had to track it down! Had to park across and a bit down the street, place was crowded at lunchtime on Saturday but we got in right away and had a high top on the window. Filled with locals- That's when you know it's going to be good! They serve breakfast and brunch all day! I hate when places limit their brunch menu to just Sunday's or a certain time frame. You get a lot of food for the price; I think the eggs Benedict with 3 eggs and hash browns was 9$ Delicious food and a big horseshoe shaped bar. Waitress was friendly and checked in several times. What a neighbourhood gem! I was surprised how good the food was considering how simple the place is. It has a nice vibe to it and it was almost full when we arrived around 7 p.m. I feel that the chef really cares about the food because you can taste it in the favor and all I can say is it is fresh. I have the combo special which included steak tips, ribs, and Parmesan chicken. The ribs impressed me because they were cooked like a pro. The membrane was off therefore the ribs were "fall off the bone." Not to mention it was slow cooked. Simply Delicious. Very friendly staff who makes you feel welcome. Everything here was ok. Nothing too bad but nothing to blow me away. The service could have been better. I had an empty water glass for a very long time. But she did take our order quickly and food came out pretty quickly. I got the scallop stuffed shrimp. It was a nice sized portion and the shrimp were huge. Made a reservation on line at the Brickhouse for a Saturday night, and had an excellent experience. We were greeted and immediately brought to our table. What's so refreshing about that is how many places take reservations, but still make you wait especially on their busy nights. Despite being full, the staff had our table ready...."Thank you!" Our waitress was friendly and helpful in making our dinner selections too. The Caesar salad for starters came in a signature bread bowl (more of a formed pita than a hollowed out loaf). It was full of flavor, ample croutons, and cheese. My only negative is that there was a little too much dressing which took away from the fresh, crispness of the romaine. For entrees we had the chicken verdicchio which was very tasty with a flavorful white wine sauce over ample amounts of chicken, penne, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, and artichokes. The chicken and broccoli was also a very large portion size and did not disappoint. Large amounts of both chicken and broccoli with penne, and not too much of the cream sauce in a bread bowl. Both large entrees were boxed up and taken home, but unfortunately did not leave room for dessert this night. read more
