This is a great bakery located in the distillery district. They have sweet treats and savory items like pot pies and sausage rolls. I enjoyed their Portuguese egg tart, cheesecake tart and I also got a raspberry almond tart. I would go back here.

Was looking for butter tarts to try while visiting Toronto and they a variety of tarts to sample. I opted for the plain butter tart, as I was sure what to expect. It reminded me of a pecan pie filling that we have here in the States. The crust was slightly thick but definitely butter and I actually enjoyed the filling more than I expected. Kinda wished I had gotten more. They also offer a variety of pastries both sweet and savory. Second bakery I've seen with the Portugal dessert as well. Staff seemed very nice and attentive. I didn't pay much attention to the inside but I believe they had a few seats available.

Yesterday (Sat.) a friend and I were looking for a venue in The Distillery to have some non-alcoholic drinks. We both wanted drinks which didn't have too much sugar in them and after inquiring with a lady at the counter we both chose their regular coffee. I found the quality/flavour quite good and the size fairly large for the price, and my friend agreed. My friend suggested we have something to eat there too and we decided upon their Famous House Chili w/a bread slice which we shared. I found it flavourable but not exceptional, a fairly good deal for the price. The Bakery is pretty small but has several benches as well as a front patio (we sat inside). They have a fairly large and varied selection of offerings considering the venue's size, including breads, pastries and cookies. The service was prompt and helpful and I would consider a return visit for a drink and/or snack.

Was slightly peckish so I stopped by for a light lunch. They were sold out of a lot of their savoury options so I opted for a sandwich. The Boxing Day sandwich caught my eye as it was a play on leftover Christmas dinner (turkey, stuffing, cranberry and more). I didn't realize the sandwiches weren't prepared fresh, what I received was a Saran-wrapped sandwich that must have been sitting in their fridge for quite a while. The sandwich was incredibly mushy and eating it cold was not a great experience at all. I had to throw out most of it. I know their baked goods and breads and usually good but this sandwich seriously needs to be removed from the menu (or at least prepared a different way).

B and I decided to come to Brick Street Bakery. I do know that they have one of the best sausage rolls in Toronto. There is a location closer to us but we decided to come to this one because the reviews is much higher and also they were the first location to open up. It costed $4 for two small sausage rolls. B and I each got two small sausage rolls and OMG they were delicious. They were very flavorful. The beef was not overly dry but the right moisture level. The outer layer of the sausage roll was nice and flaky. Overall, it was a delicious sausage roll and I recommend trying it if you have never had them before. They also sells other goodies from pies to pastries to bread. I will definitely have to come back for their other goodies another time. B and I came home and B is still reminiscent the delicious sausage rolls. I told him that next time we are in Toronto, we can go to the Kings street location and we don't need to head all the way to distillery district.

Their sausage rolls are popular. First time I went in, I was not after sausage rolls. I just wanted a pastry and a coffee for breakfast. However, I overheard many-a-customer in front of me in line, leaving the bakery disappointed because they were sold out of sausage rolls. Some of their comments about the sausage rolls made me want to come back another time to try them out for myself. Everything I got on my first visit to brick street (an assortment of pies from their case and sweet bakes) were delectable. Having had their sausage roll on my second visit, when it was fresh out of the oven, I can confirm that it is deluxe. The outer layer of pastry is thin and flaky. The sausage is substantial and well seasoned.. Tastes like a classic sausage roll.

Love this little bakery! Have always enjoyed their hot sandwiches. The Boxing Day sandwich is unreal: it's a turkey dinner all in one sandwich form. They sell all kinds of bread, pastries and pies. They are such a great option in The Distillery District. They have minimal seating indoors and also have an outdoor patio space on the picturesque cobblestone.

Now that I've become completely obsessed with The Great British Baking Show six seasons into the series, I think that might have triggered my interest in this British-style bakery in the Distillery District. While I enjoy the nerve-wracking process of baking, it's really the final confection that clinches it for me. When I saw they sold cakes, puddings, and traditional pies, I felt like Paul Hollywood examining the results of the technical challenge at the display case. Jamie W. and I decided to give Star Baker to whomever in the back made the C$2.75 Double Chocolate Butter Tart (photo: http://bit.ly/2UahZ8R). Good texture, flavors melted together well. Prue, what do you think? TART - 4 stars...velvety richness and it is chocolate after all AMBIANCE -3.5 stars...just patio seating out front...usually taken by overweight passing tourists who shouldn't be near a bakery SERVICE - 3 stars...a bit off as they were close to closing TOTAL - 4 stars...on your marks, get set...BAKE! A small little Bakery which is also great if you need a large order to go in The Distillery District. I popped in here for a quick breakfast on my way to a walking tour. It's definitely a small little place not with a lot of seating. More a grab-and-go type spot. I had a pastry as well as a bacon egg and tomato sandwich. Everything was very tasty and filling for a pre tour start. There are variety of pastry options and everything smelled and looked amazing. Did not take long for my food to be made and given to me. One of the best bacon and egg sandwiches I have had in a long time. This is a great spot to Grab & Go or to stop in for a quick bite for yourself.

BREAKFAST Living in the distillery district for a long time now I have come to realize that Brick Street Bakery is always consistent. Every time I've come down here to grab either pastries or sandwiches, they have always been on point and delicious! Arrive early to get your favourites before they are gone or between making new batches. My goto are the sausage rolls which are to die for and or any of their sandwiches. Especially the breakfast sandwiches! Your taste buds will whisk you away from the city to perhaps a small French boulangerie somewhere on the outskirts of Paris when you eat here. Love this place! So lucky to be a stones throw away. Keep up the greatness!

Finally tried the famous sausage rolls. Perfect proportions of beef and pastry, filling was deliciously seasoned. Each order comes with 2 rolls. Ordered coffee, almond and chocolate croissants, loved everything while enjoying the view outside of wedding pictures being taken. Bought some frozen ones to take home as I know I'll be craving for the rolls for sure. Definitely worth the drive.

Good variety of rolls and pies

The pastries and mochi breads are absolutely exquisite! I tried the black sesame mochi bread--light, pillowy, and filled with a delightful little white mochi surprise. The crème brûlée almond tart was incredible too, with its thick, eggy custard and a blueberry-almond center. And the Hitotoki matcha tart? Gorgeous and just perfect. It was my first visit, and I discovered the bakery through their 2nd-anniversary IG post. I bought about $20 worth of treats and got to spin their prize wheel--and I actually won the Grand Prize: a limited-edition gold Nespresso & milk frother kit! I literally jumped for joy. Yet another reason to love this incredible bakery!

It was okay. Tried three items:…read more Matcha Lava Tart - The staff said this had the strongest matcha flavour among their matcha items. But there was no "lava" at all... just a layer of cream sitting on a thick tart base. You do get some matcha flavour, but definitely not that rich and flowing matcha sauce I saw in those online reels. Matcha Mont Blanc - Too sweet. The green noodle-shaped topping is actually made from a kind of bean paste - not much matcha taste, but had a strong bean flavour instead. And again, it was too sweet to my liking. Taro Tart - This one was good. Taro-flavoured cream on top, with taro paste underneath, then a layer of custard with mochi at the bottom. Had a rich taro flavour. Still a bit sweet, but not as overwhelming as the Mont Blanc. Overall it was not bad, although TBH I haven't really found great matcha desserts in Toronto so far.

My wife always judges a French Cafe by their Butter Croissant ($3.00) and she liked it! She also noticed all the  staff speak French sp it gives it even more legitimacy.  She also ordered a Flat White ($4.50) which was also good. I ordered a Plum Almond Tart ($7.25) because it was the prettiest. It was super delicious so it was definitely a good choice! Service was courteous and friendly. Hopped on my bike and a half hour later I was there. The friendly staff helped me by answering my question regarding eggs and which items did not have any in the recipes. This place was also super poppin' when I got there. It was earlish in the day around 10:30am and it seemed all the tables were pretty much taken. They are adding a dinner menu which is very exciting. Their pastries are phenomenal!!! Picked up a plum and pistachio tart, a chocolate mousse cake and an apple Danish for my mom. Plus a chocolate caramelized croissant. So much butter, and yet so good. Brought my container, which they happily used. The last time I visited this spot back in 2022, I vowed I would come back and take up space in that beautiful bay window seat. Yet I haven't followed through with that yet. One day. They also changed the name, since I was there last it was called Le Conciliabule Lab. Le Conciliabule means, "speak easy", as their website says. It was used back in the day to describe a place where people would come together and talk about everything and nothing. I can definitely say that happens here. What a beautiful concept, "everything and nothing". Now named Bisou, which means kiss. That's actually really simple and sweet. Since every pastry and any food item or beverage enjoyed here is a kiss for your tastebuds. Love it. Keep going team. You are amazing!
