Wow! The beer is amazing! We started off with a cask ale. The Sierra Nevada cask ale was a heavy beer with definite smoothness. After that we moved in to the Belgium beer and the winter ale was my favorite. This was a star for the entire crew. The subtle notes finishing with a bit of spice was the winner. As I write this review, I'm salivating thinking about the chicken pot pie and fish & chips I had at Brick Store Pub. They were phenomenal and I will be dreaming about them on rainy days (and sunny days) for months to come. Approaching the pub, I noticed street parking nearby was pretty scarce - all spots taken. I had to settle for a nearby public parking deck. After a short walk, we reached Brick Store Pub. It looked small from the outside, but we were surprised by the spacious interior, featuring many nooks and crannies to enjoy a beer, thanks to its multiple levels. It felt like stepping into an old English bar. Heading to the second level to join our group, we reviewed an extensive beer list, being served up by both the upstairs and downstairs bars. The bartenders were friendly, letting us sample various options before settling on a choice. I decided on a Stout while Wifey tried a Lager.  The room we occupied continued with the old-town tavern vibe. As we enjoyed our beers, we ordered food, Wifey went for the fish and chips, thoroughly enjoying it. I opted for a turkey sandwich, which turned out to be quite plain - exactly as described, nothing too special. Could have used more pickles, for me. Son had fish and chips. He said they were flavorful, but it was a small portion. Best beer bar in Georgia and that I've ever been to. Always the best beers on tap and they rotate. Sitting at the Belgian beer bar and working through all the options with a bartender, listening to vinyl...everyone who's ever been there knows how special it is. The cask area is a huge hit, try a pint at near-room temperature. Food has always been awesome. The rear courtyard is always fun as well, with its own set of taps and food. Many go here and don't realize the BSP even AGES some of their beer. You have to ask for a separate menu. Think thicker bodied beer that changes taste and complexity over time. This place is absolutely a true treasure. Its lofty beer bar national rankings are absolutely justified. read more

This is our new favorite neighborhood pub! My bf, who is Belgian, refers to it as his "home away from home" especially once he got to see the cellar. We sat at the British-themed upstairs bar, as there was no seating available downstairs and the "cave" area felt too claustrophobic for me. This was around 6ish on a Friday evening. The bartenders and servers were so friendly and helpful without being overbearing. I loved the BSP cheese plate to start. We probably needed a few more toast points which I'm sure they would have brought if we'd asked. Since you get a pairing of the day, you might expect something different each time. For dinner, we both had the burger. I wished that it was served on a slightly heftier bun, but it was delicious nevertheless. Although I do love fries, I equally love when restaurants offer nontraditional sides... and in this case, I had the Brunswick stew. My bf got the fries, which was a hefty portion, so I had some of those along with their special tarragon mayo. I'm not a huge stew person, and this one erred on the sweet side kind of like a BBQ sauce, so I probably wouldn't order it again - but I did appreciate that it had so much juicy meat. We did not have a dessert, but we did manage to choose a nice bottle from the cellar which had a cherry vibe. While we sat and sipped our beverages, we drooled as plates were being served and eyeballed a few dishes for next time. The fish and chips looks stellar. We'll be back! We walked around back afterwards and learned that the outside bar only serves drinks and not food. I've been on a pub kick ever since my recent trip across the pond to the UK, and lemme tell you that Brick Store does not disappoint! This pub is large and spans 2 floors and multiple rooms so chances are you won't have to wait for a table. My most recent trip was a couple days before Christmas when it seemed like just about everyone was out and about in Decatur and we were still able to get a table right away even though the pub was packed. The space is very inviting with plenty of cozy nooks to sit back and have a pint. And true to its name, lots of exposed brick! There are multiple bars to serve your needs. They have an extensive drink selection which includes soo many beers, as well as wine and cocktails. I usually stick to one of the local brews on draft- or lately- the spiced pear hot toddy, which is like a warm alcoholic hug in a mug. I've only eaten there once, but they have all the usual pub grub- fish and chips, burgers, pot roast, big pretzels, etc. My friend and I got the fried pierogies and turkey sandwich to split. I highly recommend the fried pierogies! They are delicious and come with a brown butter pecan and sage sauce, so good! The turkey sandwich was delicious as well and was elevated with the addition of arugula, rye bread and peppers. Our bill came to about $45 each after splitting those 2 dishes and 3 drinks each, which is very reasonable! read more

It's been ages (almost 15 years) since I've been to this quaint little pub. My boyfriend and I were meeting up with my friend because this was in between our two homes. I'm not a big beer drinker but I know the both of them enjoy a good pint and the beer did not disappoint. Even I drink two tall ones but I couldn't tell you the name of the beer. Anyways, we ordered the hummus, pirogies, and spicy crackers and dip. It was all simple food but really tasty. They have a variety of options on food and everything I saw walking to different tables looked so yummy. We didn't order an actual meal as we were on a time crunch but we will definitely be back! I don't know how to review this place. It was just okay. The drinks were the best part of the experience. The waiter seemed disinterested in helping us. And the menu is quite limited. I had a turkey sandwich and port and my partner had the chicken sandwich and the drink of the day. It was all very basic and felt like food you could make at home. I understand that's sort of a theme for pubs, but I was so sad when they said they didn't carry bbq sauce in GEORGIA. I won't personally go back. I only went because I was starving and we tried to go to Sweet Melissa's which unfortunately closed. Prefacing this review that I want to come back and try more beer and food - just not super pleased with my choices tonight. I got the Monday Night Brewing 'Big Softy' wheat ale which was pretty good. Could have been served colder. But a solid beer! The sandwich was my favorite part, although it may have been missing the onion dressing it said it came with. It tasted great anyway - loved the pimento. I upgraded to Brussels sprouts which I was not a fan of. Too soft - could have been crunchier, and hardly any flavor on some while others were drenched. Service was okay, but all steps of dinner took a while despite it not being too busy. It was also all quite expensive. The bartenders and overall service makes you feel like you've been coming by every day for 7 years. The beer selection is incredible, too, with lots of local brews, craft beers and other fun favorites. Once of my husband and I's first dates were at Brick Store and it's always a special place to us. We actually love the ambiance so much, that a portion of our engagement photos were taken inside at the upstairs bar area. I came here for a team lunch. We tried an assortment of appetizers (biscuits 3/5, pirogies(sp) 4/5, cheese 4/5, etc. The appetizers were good. I especially liked the fig jam and the cheeses were solid. The biscuits were quite crispy which really wasn't my speed. I ordered the open faced chicken salad melt. It was very good and very rich. I didn't eat it all since too much dairy irritates me, but it's a nice and filling lunch. The farro and pea salad was a tad dry but had an interesting flavor. I had a German Pinot Noir, which was nice but wasn't worth the $15 price tag imo, although I wasn't paying I'm just saying! The chips are cooked perfectly and were so good with the vinegar. Worth the wait - field green salad was very good, with spinach and arugula (not romaine, as the menu stated).
