I went here on a Friday and Saturday morning. The coffee on Friday was so good that I couldn't wait to come back the next day. On Friday I ordered a decaf iced coffee with lavender cold foam. The person at the register didn't tell me there was no decaf iced coffee so she must have put some milk in there. On Saturday I asked for the same thing and the barista told me there is no decaf iced coffee and I'd need to have an Americano or a latte and he could make it... I think? As I type this it maybe doesn't make sense but I am not a coffee expert. ;) Anyway, the bottom line is that the staff on Saturday went so out of their way to make me an awesome drink. They said that they would change it if I didn't like it bc "there's nothing worse than a bad coffee" and were so kind and patient as I made my zillions of decisions. In particular the male barista and the cashier with curly hair were SOOOO nice and went so above and beyond to make sure I loved my coffee. And bonus for the early 2000's playlist that was playing while we were there. Great coffee, great staff, when I am in town again I'll be back! read more

I'm not gonna lie, I do spend unnecessary hours on tiktok weekly, and I don't think that's going to change. I started seeing tictoks for Brick Road Coffee on my FYP (coffeetok is a fav) and I wasn't even sure where Brick Road Coffee was, but I really enjoyed their tictoks. Then I saw one with the address off Rural in Tempe and thought hot damn I need to go! Brick Road Coffee is a super cute coffee shop and really love the Golden Girls playing the corner! LOVE IT! I am currently working my way through the drink menu. But I have 2 favorites so far, the Cinnamon Roll Latte and the Hope Dealer Mocha, both are delish and are becoming fast favs of mine. The Cinnamon Roll is everything you would have in a roll but in drink form and the Hope Dealer Mocha is like an liquid almond joy! Perfection!! I absolutely love Brick Road. Every time I've been here it's been a positive experience, all staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. On top of that they have great coffee, baked goods, and the best lavender mint tea. I love the various events they put on and how supportive they are of the LGBTQ+ community. By far the best local coffee I've *ever* tried. I'm talking I drove through 5 total states to get to Arizona from Washington (scenic route) with plenty of coffee to get me through. All of the baristas are incredibly friendly and offer excellent recommendations every time. LGBTQIA+ safe space, calendars with events they hold or sponsor every month, Golden Girls always playing on a projector. Another local hidden gem. Brick Road coffee is such a cool little shop that you must check out. I had a white peppermint mocha and it was quite tasty. They use locally roasted Cult Coffee. Brick Road Coffee is an LGBTQ owned and operated coffeeshop. I had a long nice chat with Gabe (owner, along with his husband) about opening Brick Road and his vision for it in the future. He was such a sweetheart and his vision for supporting the community and cultivating a safe place is inspiring. Currently they are closed Sunday & Monday, and open all other days from 11am-10pm (except Thursday closing at 8pm). But it was mentioned earlier hours may start in the new year, but be sure to follow them on their social media pages (IG) for most up to date info. Everything about this place is just so marvelous! Before I even walked in somebody complimented my shirt (even the customers are super nice), inside I was greeted with genuine, relaxed smiles that you can't fake. I felt really comfortable in the space. The menu had a ton of options of great coffee drinks but also really great non-coffee drinks. I got one of the teas and it was delicious! There's even a lot of really cool books, art, and stickers to peruse while waiting for your drink (which didn't take long). I followed the coffee shop on Instagram and found out all the cool things it does. **Overall, this is not a coffee shop. It's a warm, welcoming community.** I come alone and didn't know a soul (at first), but every time I come I meet a new fascinating person. And I'm an introvert! But like many introverts, I enjoy interacting with people - just on a more genuine, small scale level. This coffee shop is perfect to make new friends. About noon today I needed a caffeine jolt. I was shopping at Jerry's Artorama for the first time in a long time and noticed the Brick Road Coffee Shop. Great! Let's take care of that caffeine craving. What a disappointment. I ordered a Red Eye (two espresso shots added to a cup of coffee) with some heavy cream. What I got was tan-colored warm water. It didn't even remotely taste like coffee. I asked the barista if they added the two shots of espresso. I was assured they had. I am not so sure they had. I should have gone to Steve's. I know I always get a good cup of coffee at Steve's. It was just a mile away. I was being lazy. I will go to Steve's next time. read more

Just gotta put it out there: I'm a fan of Brickroad Coffee! Why? Best coffee beverages I've had in ages, great atmosphere and inclusive of all. On a chilly day I ordered a hot mocha. It was perfect from the amount of chocolate, the roast and temperature. Great job baristas. What I live most about Brickroad is you feel like you're with neighbors and friends when you're there. It's a great gatherings spot for small meetings, studying, and just chilling. The cool mural on the south wall is done by a local popular artist. There are fun stickers and pins to purchase too. Brick Road coffee is my go-to establishment for casual meetings and community connection. The coffee is very good, I love their sweet cream nitro cold brew, their mochas, and their cappuccino. I also love their herbal teas, especially their mint tea over ice. And while the drinks and pastries are top notch, I really love the people there. It is one of the most welcoming and accepting places for people of all ages and backgrounds, with special TLC for the LGBTQ+ community. Not everybody likes that and haters gonna hate, but hate truly does not exist in this coffee shop. When I go in, I am met with friendly smiles and a hug from Gabe the owner, who takes the time to ask how I'm doing and how he can help with any community projects or volunteer work I'm involved in. He has given to my charitable causes and supported my outreach efforts by displaying my charity art for sale in the shop. I owe so much to Gabe and the team at Brick Road, so yeah for me the coffee is great, but it's about so much more than that. Gabe is a gem in our community. I wanted to support businesses and their owners who speak up and advocate for equal rights and the right to bodily autonomy. I just flew into the Phoenix airport and was looking for a coffee place nearby to finish some work before getting my trip started. This place came up in my search results and the atmosphere pictured is exactly what you get, all the flags supporting LGBTQIA+, Golden Girls playing on a projector on the wall, 90s/2000s pop music playing, and the friendliest staff. Brick Road has quickly become one of my favorite local coffee shops. Not only do they have fantastic drink and food options, they also offer a variety of community resources and events. My go to is a cold brew with almond milk and sugar free vanilla and a ham and Swiss turnover. I've also had a few of their specially drinks, however they are a bit sweet for my liking. The baristas are always accommodating and kind. They also have a great rewards program and offer 20% off when you first sign up. I come here to telework often, they have lots of outlets and the seating is fairly comfy. My only complaint is that the wifi logs you out every hour which is frustrating as I have to re-connect to a VPN and multiple programs every time. But supporting an amazing place with such amazing people is worth it!! The first time I came here, I couldn't stop telling everyone I knew. read more

The attention to detail is evident in everything they offer. Judging from the freshness of the chocolate croissant and an almond treat from the bakery case, they don't force their bakery goods to camp out overnight in the case as i see in so many coffee spots. The coffee drinks have several fun selections or just plain if that's your thing. Either way, delish. Even if you don't like coffee it's worth it to stop in and get the goods. On the way out we saw pizza boxes and immediately signed up to take one home. Best decision all day as we we simply inhaled it. Gave this cafe a couple of shots because I really want to like them, as I dig the colorful vibe. However, the first time I visited, the staff members were so snarky, and the second time I went, their (extremely annoying) music was so loud and the employees were also so loud behind the counter that I couldn't focus on my work, and people I was in meetings with couldn't pay attention, either. There are people clearly working on their laptops so I don't understand why they can't have the self-awareness to keep their voices and their music lower. Too bad because their lattes are delicious and they have a lot of outlets, but it's not a place I would want to return to anymore. read more
