I went here back on Labor Day weekend and the biggest standout memory was the waitress went so far out of her way to ensure we were happy here with the food, her service was truly outstanding here - she really took care of us. There was seating available both inside and outside and our meal was delivered to us very quickly on the patio with a smile and extra delicious home made sauce. It's pretty rare to find vegan biscuits with chicken to this level. We enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies and we will surely be back. read more

10/10 experience here! the food was so so so good! i had the california burger, i asked for the salsa in the side but oh my god is everything crafted together! as soon as i took a bit with the salsa i knew it had to go together! i subbed out the salad for sweet potato fries and had them with this delicious sauce! the people working here are AMAZING! i thought the lady that helped us was the owner based off of her hospitality, WRONG! she spoke so highly of the owner and talked about all the lovely things! the inside is such a vibe too. it is a bit cold inside but i'm also from california so did wear a sweater haha. will be coming back for sure! read more

I am pretty sure Lala was the person who greeted and took our order and as a long term vegan but first time customer to a Brick City Vegan was grateful to have a knowledgeable host...and Lala was extremely informative and friendly. Two of us got the chicken sandwich and one of us got the chicken biscuit and it sufficed to say, it was a quiet and napkin filled lunch. Our sides were all different, plantains with the biscuit, and sweet potato fries with one and Cole slaw with the other. All were delicious, though I am used to a little more vinegar in the cole slaw. Ordered yesterday and salad dressing was a thick yellow dressing. Disgusting to say the least. Please update apps when you decide to switch up dressing on salad. My youngest has dairy and egg allergies so finding a place that has quality options that don't sacrifice in flavor or execution is always welcomed! Staff was friendly and super helpful. We stopped by with 3 little ones to pick up a midday treat and scored some packs of chocolate chip cookies (2 per pack) and tried their jam and butter biscuit. 10/5 on the biscuit. You would never know it was vegan and a perfect combination of texture and just scrumptious! Might have enjoyed it too quickly for a photo sorry! The cookies were also great and we will absolutely be back to try their other offerings. Inside has a few booths and tables for dining in, their menu was definitely plentiful in options. The woman recommended we come back and try the Mac and cheese. She herself isn't vegan but said it's her fave Mac and cheese. Sounds like we'll be back. There's a nearby lot or street parking. This place is so great! I haven't felt as welcomed or taken care of at any food establishment in years! The woman working there today was just so lovely and accommodating. I wish I'd gotten her name because she deserves a big shout out. Thank you! The food was amazing. I had the black bean burger and sweet potato fries. The burger was perfectly crisp on the outside and packed with flavor. All of the toppings and sauce were super complimentary and didn't overwhelm. The fries were literally the best I've ever had. Food- quite good, BBQ oats were particularly inventive. Service was where Brick City could definitely do better. The woman who served us was sullen and monosyllabic. We wanted to love the place, as traveling vegans and foodies, but honestly the vibe was really ruined by the cashier's resentful attitude. One example I can think of is when we ordered drinks, we sat there for about ten minutes before my mother ventured to ask if we should get the drink ourselves-- to be greeted by an unfriendly "yup". (Getting the drink ourselves is not a problem, of course, it's just that we would have appreciated her letting us know beforehand, or at least responding in a friendly, civil way.). The food is perhaps worth the visit, but just be prepared for a gloomy, sour-faced vibe inside. read more

I love Brick City Vegan! I keep going back for the chikn sandwich. I think I could eat one just about every day. All the burgers I've tried have been good, and I know at least one kid who likes the cheese burger. Biscuit sandwiches are good, too. Oh, the sides: get the coleslaw! I thought I was getting an "extra one" to save for later on my last order, but I was wrong... it didn't make it to the fridge because me & Mr. both love it. It's just very fresh tasting. The cabbage is really good and the sauce is light and delicious. Not like heavier coleslaws I remember from the non vegan past. Brick City Vegan got it right. 2nd favorite is the chickpeas. Sweet potato fries are great if you like sweet potato fries, though they're a bit heavier than other options. Black eyed peas are good. It's all good. Go for the cookies if you want to eat cookies. They taste like homemade. To drink, I like the iced green tea. Idk why, but the first or second time I tried them, when they first opened, some things were a bit off. But they seem to have worked it all out and everything has been consistently great since then. Now I order from them often. So, if you tried early on and weren't impressed, I would definitely give them another shot. Definitely my fav local vegan meal in Montclair. read more

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while since it opened. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in, and the spot was cool. I ordered a few things, including the California burger, the chicken biscuit, and the power bowl. Those dishes were very good. My favorite was the California burger. I was visiting from ATL and stayed in the area. A friend told me about this place ,so I was stoked to know there was a vegan place very close. Upon entering I wasn't really greeted very well . They just looked at me like and....so first impressions went out the door. I scanned the menu and saw a few things I'd definitely buy. Every thing is basically take away dj there was no full hot dinner type dishes--no problem. After standing there I asked if there was a paper menu I could take with me back to my hotel where I could read and review it. That way I could be sure of what I wanted and order a lot faster . The ladies behind the counter just looked at me like duh.. and told me to visit the website instead. A simple no or say I'm sorry we don't have printed menus available. There wasn't even a laminated one to even view in the store. So I had to actually stare at the menu board for minutes while being in the way of others who came to order their food. If a paper or laminated menu was available this would help elevate people constantly staring at the menu board. Im just visiting from outta town so I'm not a regular patron that knows the menu . The warm and fuzzy wasn't apparent upon entering so that turned me off as well as the unavailable hands on menu, so I just turned around and walked . I'm sure they cared less . I really wanted to try this place. As I told my friend who recommended this place about my experience he also agreed the attitudes of the people on the front line irked him as well so that's 2 dislikes I'll pass by this place literally in search of other vegan food read more
