    Sesame chicken bowl

It's been years since I've been to Brick & Tin and I'm so glad that I got to go back! They're a semi-casual dinner/lunch spot in Mountain Brook Village that has sandwiches, salads, and plates. They have seasonal menu items too, and I appreciate that they source certain items seasonally to ensure high quality, fresh ingredients! I ordered the Sesame Chicken Bowl and loved it! It had so many toppings that complimented each other well. It's well balanced with veggies, protein, and carbs and doesn't fall short of flavor! I really liked the chicken, it's lightly fried and had a sweet glaze. The staff were super friendly- our cups never lacked water and our food came out in a timely manner. I'm already looking forward to the next time I get to come back here! It's such a cute spot too!

We've enjoyed eating at both locations a 1/2 dozen times and have never been disappointed. Seating is ample, except on Sundays, it's loved that much. Five outdoor tables that are perfect when the weather corporates. Soup & Salad Combo: Mushroom Soup "Yum" and Seasonal Farro Salad. Hearty but light, delicious combo and very refreshing. Sautéed Salmon: Crispy crust on presentation side, moist tender on the inside, served on a bed of Farro salad. Perfection. As always the Service was a snap and friendly. It will take another dozen time to partake of their wonderful offerings.

Hadn't been to this restaurant in quite a while and had forgotten that it's such a great lunch spot in the Mountain Brook area. We were lucky enough to find street parking near the front of the restaurant. Orders are taken at the bar area and then you can locate a place to sit. Beverages and meals are brought to your table by the friendly workers. There's an eclectic array of items on the menu from which to choose. Several things stood out this time, including the sweet corn soup, sesame chicken bowl and the chic & tin. I should mention that all the breads are made fresh in the attached bakery. It's also worth a stop in the back for a tasty brown butter coconut cookie! Overall, this was a very good experience in a friendly and casual environment.... Will definitely be back!

One star for the staff. I have been eating here for 11 years and noticed a major shift in the staff's friendliness and attentiveness.

Brick and Tin has a great ambiance and offers a menu of elevated soups, salads and sandwiches. During sunny days, the outdoor seating gives the vibe of a European sidewalk cafe. Inside seating is modern and warm. Try the

Minimal wait to order at lunchtime. I am not much of a veggie eater but this salad was excellent and I would have been happy to eat more. The Chick & Tin sandwich was very good too. Super fresh bread filled with piping hot chicken. Yum! I only wish one of the locations were closer to the office or home so I could go more often. I lucked up finding a parking spot right out front. You can also buy the fresh bread and pastries to take home.

I had the grilled salmon salad and it was honestly better than I expected. The salmon was warm, flaky, and seasoned really well it didn't taste dry or overcooked like some places. The greens were fresh and crisp, and the lemon vinaigrette tied it all together nicely. I liked the little touches like pickled onions and roasted corn that gave it a pop of flavor. The portion was big enough to fill me up but still felt like a light meal. Our server was friendly and kept our waters full without hovering. Chill vibe inside the restaurant too, not too loud or crowded. Definitely a go-to if you're trying to eat a little healthier.

Wanted something easy so chose this based on Yelp reviews and menu. Was disappointed that they did not actually have butternut squash soup like the online menu showed but chose a salad instead. It was delicious and refreshing. My husband had a panini and a really yummy looking farro salad that he raved about. We aren't local but if we were I could see this being a frequent choice based on fresh healthy ingredients and nice environment and service.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!…read more For this week's vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free theme, I picked Chopt Creative Salad Co., and I honestly love it. I'm not fully vegetarian or vegan, but I really appreciate having options that feel fresh and not heavy. Every time I go, everything just tastes clean. Nothing feels overly processed or greasy, and I don't leave with that "why did I eat that" feeling. What stands out to me is how easy it is to build something without meat and still feel satisfied. They have plenty of plant-based proteins, grains, and toppings that actually have flavor. It doesn't feel like you're just eating lettuce. I also like that you can customize everything exactly how you want it. I usually order the Farm Bowl (I think that's what it's called) with almonds, apples, sweet potatoes, goat cheese, and chicken. I always get the dressing on the side and swap the goat cheese for tomatoes. The mix of sweet potatoes and apples with the crunch from the almonds is so good. And honestly? It would be just as good without the chicken, which I love because it shows you don't need meat for it to feel filling. The vibe is simple and modern, and it's a good spot for a quick lunch. Service is always splendid! Overall, it's one of my favorite healthier options because I feel energized after eating there instead of sluggish. I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for something fresh and lighter.

Soup changes daily and this day was chickpea and chorizo. Nothing life changing about it but it wasn't bad. We walked into a small, dark, crowded dive bar and ordered amongst several other people after waiting in line shoulder to shoulder with other customers. I say this not to complain (because with a crowd like this on a random weekday, they're obviously doing something right) but to take your kids in car seats (‍) with caution. Crowds in small spaces stress me out and it would have been even worse if we'd had the boys with us. I'd also highly suggest going on a day when you can sit outside. There's very minimal seating inside. They do have a lovely, spacious patio that also feels like a garden with plenty of trees for shade. However, they make it clear they don't want dogs there. Parking was horrific. A narrow street with cars on each side. We barely fit through it. If there wouldn't have been an open spot on it, I'm not sure what the next option is because I didn't see anywhere else and this street only held so many. I would dine here again because the sandwiches were fresh and delicious and they obviously know what they're doing! I was pleasantly surprised that they had prosecco as well. Just heed my few warnings and you'll enjoy as well!

The potatoes went much quicker than the rice; I had the potatoes and they were fantastic. There was also a tray of chocolate chip cookies provided. I don't think they were frash made; they looked similar to other restaurants generic chocolate chip cookies. They were a nice addition to the lunch, though. Eating food at this restaurant is truly unlike anything available in the city of homewood and Birmingham as a whole. That being said, since this restaurant has been open I have noticed very clear and fixable issue regarding the service, which I deem to be subpar. Keep in mind that I continue to come back here because I really do feel like this food is worth coming back for. My intention with this review is to provide constructive criticism to the owner of the restaurant who may read this and may make these changes. 1.Tableware- every time I have dined I have always noticed that the house staff is never entirely prepared to service the customer, even when the restaurant has 1 or 2 tables full. By service the customer, I mean setting plates, forks, spoons and knives at the ready. I understand that mandi is a food eaten with hands but having a plate and silverware is always necessary for the American customer 2. Taking orders- many times while ordering with a big group, the hostess would take the order by memory without writing things. This would lead to moments where while in the middle of dining on one of the mains they brought out asynchronously from the rest of the order, the hostess would end up asking us if we had anything else missing. In fact while taking the check the hostess would ask us about our order, as if we were responsible for writing it down ourselves. This isn't a deal breaker for me, but if the order is written then it would save a lot of unnecessary questions and confusion about our order. 3. Missing sides with orders: the daqous or toum is routinely missed with specific orders. Not sure if this is brought out on request or part of the order inherently though. 4. Keeping tabs on order completion: this was mentioned in number 2 but it really isn't our responsibility as customers to inquire about parts of our order when we don't see them on the table and when the waitress asks us if we are missing anything it just adds a layer of confusion and loss of trust in the staff. Bottom line: The food is great, cooked to perfection, and delicious The house staff team requires real training and the issues can be fixed. Working in service is hard and it can be a very laborious job. It seems like this restaurant is family run which is great, but I really believe certain consistencies need to be implemented for this restaurant to have real, returning customers.
