Stuck with not many good sit down choices to eat around Elburn it was a welcomed site to see Brianna's Pancake Cafe open. Let's start with the restaurant. Very nicely laid out with plenty of comfortable seating. They can accommodate small and big parties. The wait staff was attentive and very friendly. Now the food. Their food is top notch. I have had breakfast and dinner there and I have not been disappointed. The quality of the food is much better and tastier than the other cafe style restaurant in town that has been there for years. Not sure why anyone would prefer that place over Brianna's because you can taste the difference in the freshness and the quality. We will continue to go here. We came here this morning to meet up with my in-laws for a morning of breakfast and apple picking. The food was very good. My child had mickey mouse pancakes, I had the ham and swiss crepes with delicious hollandaise sauce and my husband had pancakes. Food was delicious, the waitress we had was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. She checked up on us regularly and fixed our wobbly table without us having to say anything. My father-in-law asked for a to-go box to take his leftovers home in and guess what?! They brought him a box and there was no charge for it. There must be a competing diner near by that apparently is banking on people believing the three 1 star reviews about them charging for to-go containers. This is a cute and tasty breakfast place. I've been back here a handful of times, for breakfast and lunch, and the difference from my first review is night and day. The food and service have consistently been great! Brianna's is in a good groove and the kinks have disappeared. The eggs benedict sauce still needs some work (sorry I'm a bit of an eggs benedict primadonna) but overall the quality and taste of the food have been delicious. read more

I'd give it a 5, but no one is perfect. Ok, the construction buildout is horrible if u are looking at details. But we are here to eat aren't we? These folks try extremely hard at what they do. Given the fall of our local diner (Papa G), this is by FAR the best sit down restaurant in Elburn. Typically we order the food to go. It is always hot and fresh. I love the Brianna skillet (it has gyros and feta) and I get a pita for my bread. If you like this dish they due an outstanding job. Papa G's ran $13 for this dish, plus add $1.25 for pita. Ouch. Wife and I stopped in on our way to DeKalb for a quick breakfast. Service was fast and friendly. Food was served within minutes of ordering and was piping hot. Arrived early in the morning and were the first customers. It understandably took a little time to get everything heated. Omelet was excellent, perhaps the best I've ever had. Breakfast was great. Got Denver Skillet and was very happy. Ingredients all seemed fresh. Waitress was very friendly and kept stopping by to warm up my coffee and ask if we needed anything. I, as a rule, never give a place less than 3 stars. Brianna's broke my rule. Let me tell you why. Let's start off with the menu. On the back is an entire list of "fine print" items. You may not share a meal unless you pay extra. You may not share a senior meal at all. You may not sit in a booth unless you pay $2.50. Yes, read that again. Have you ever seen such an abhorrent practice?! My spouse and I frequent restaurants and, having never seen this practice, this offended us both. So, I'll admit this put me in a foul mood before I even ordered. However, the party next to us returned their hashbrowns because, although she ordered them well-done, they arrived burnt. My spouse ordered his hashbrowns well-done as well, and they came nearly raw. I ordered banana chocolate chip pancakes, only to receive plain pancakes with half a sliced banana on top. I mentioned this to the server, and she offered to replace them for me, but what's the point when my spouse already had his food? I ate them as is...and was not impressed. I never got a refill of my water. Also, we felt like we waited forever for the check. All in all, we were very disappointed and will never return. read more

The food is pretty good, but the service is exceptional. The owner is an older blonde named "Nina" and she is totally smoking hot and checks-up on her waitresses, and refills your cups, and makes sure your portions are adequate and cooked properly. read more

I agree with another reviewer that many of the menu items are similar to Papa G's, but I think Briana's has much more. I don't understand why people can't feel the love for this place. It's a typical greek-style diner with anything and everything on the menu. We have eaten here often and everything has always been solid. I love that you can build your own skillet with plenty of meat/veggie choices. We've probably been here 8 or more times and every time it's been delicious. Our favorites are their Benedict, the savory crepes (the California Crepe is amazing), the Incredible Hulk omelet, and the Farmer Pete omelet. my husband and I have been several times. Food has always been very good. you get a lot of food for what you pay. I am very picky about my coffee. I don't usually order it when we go out, but there's is fantastic. the service has always been outstanding. The ladies are all extremely nice and friendly. Its very clean. I like that the specials change for the season . my husband just hand the strawberry cheesecake pancakes the other day. they were amazing. we will be going back tomorrow so I can have the pumpkin cheesecake pancakes. read more

Will never go back. Was put at the worst table in the place when several others were available. We sat there for over 15 minutes and no one even came over to serve us coffee or even water They were in no way busy. We walked out and told the owner we were leaving, she actually asked what table were were sitting at when she walked by us several times. Went to another restaurant in Batavia we hadn't even sat down before we were served with coffee and water which we didn't have to ask for. Today I had THE best eggs Benedict of my life. I have had that dish in over 100 restaurants and this was hands down my favorite. The service was great and the food was better. I have read the other reviews and if you gave lower than 3 stars it's because you are a spoiled asshole. I get having an off day but please stop whining. Excellent place to dine in Elburn with highly competitive prices compared to the rest of downtown restaurants where a typical bill will exceed $40.00 including tips never mind the fact that the competitive places will serve you those super expensive meals on sickening plates and silverware. My fiance' and i came here on a whim. The atmosphere is very plain. There are no pictures on the walls or anything. The breakfast was the same as most breakfast places. We gave them a second chance. The next time, service was quite slow, and we were on a schedule. Oh well. Stuff happens. Today my husband and I were there for lunch. Our waiter seemed very unfamiliar with the "ettiqute" of a waiter. Seemed very awkward in the position. I had to repeat things when placing my order. We each ordered burgers--each medium rare. My husband's burger was nicely pink in the center. My burger was overcooked with no pink and very dry. When we asked how two medium rare burgers could be so different, we discovered that the waiter had failed to indicate the doneness of my burger. And the chef apparently didn't ask. I think Brianna's serves quality food. But if they don't train their waitstaff, they will not succeed. read more

The owner/manager (short woman with short, dark hair) refused to accept my gift certificate because apparently it was for $5 even though it said $10 very clearly. The food was okay, but my hamburger's buns were burned (black and crisp), the toppings were completely different than listed on the menu, and I never received my soup. It was a long wait for the food, but it was understandable since it was a bit busy. However, my table was never offered any water in addition to the coffee that they automatically poured. We had to wait about 10 minutes at the front desk until a different server came by to ring us up. We said we had to split all the items onto separate bills, and the server seemed extremely annoyed. A hostess came up and rang up 1/3 of us, but then let people behind us start paying while the other 2 of us waited to pay directly in front of her. She stared at us and I let her know 2 of us still needed to pay. She ditched the split bills in front of her and asked us, with attitude, what we ordered, and then searched on the menu for the items' prices. We could have honestly paid for 1/3 of the items and left without her realizing we needed to pay. We're pretty sure we didn't pay about $10 in additions and sides in the end. I have worked as a hostess and server in a busy restaurant and can understand a bad busy morning, but overall we felt like the employees were annoyed with our existence and honesty in needing to pay. read more

First time here. I had the Friday all you can eat fish fry. It was very tasty. The coating was nice & light, and not greasy. It came with fries, veggies & amazing cole slaw. Will certainly return! It's too bad that they didn't have a soup or salad that came with the meal. read more
