Already been here a handful of times. They send me a birthday drink every year and conveniently easy to access rewards. I always want an empanada here or some sort of treat. The coffee drinks I've had here all delicious. The treats are yummy as well but we didn't like the what we were told were corn muffins but they mean similar too which was more of a solid pudding or pie texture/taste I definitely recommend them. They are such a hidden gem but probably most known to locals. Their space is so cute inviting and fun. All the coffee drinks I've tried here have been delicious! I love their Mazapan latte. I wish they were open later in the day as I would come after some appointments in the area. I've also had their avocado toast and I really recommend. Very flavorful. Service can be a bit slow at times, especially when there's a line. But I think it's worth the wait. I've been here a few times. The first time, the owner helped me and she was super kind and helpful. The order came quickly and everything was delicious (mazapán latte and breakfast burrito). I love supporting poc and women owned businesses, so I was excited for this spot being so close to home. The last THREE times I went, staff were very snippy, rude, and slow. I was treated like an inconvenience rather than a customer. They weren't welcoming at all, and honestly, quality of the drink and food wasn't the best. There was one time I didn't even get a "can I help you" or a greeting at the register... she just stared at me until I ordered and that was it. Walking into the establishment, love the aesthetic and they even had 'High School Musical' playing during the morning shift. Cousin and I stopped by our first time to grab some matcha and try two different empanadas. I even got to pick up one of their juices they hand made. We could also tell that the establishment holds different evening events with the variety of board games and with the projector, I'd guess they have some trivia nights or such. The matcha tasted great and the empanada's, were amazing! The staff was helpful when my cousin and I tried to figure what kind of empanada to try. I have ordered a few times from here but never came to the cafe. It's absolutely adorable and the food options are great! I really loved the way it's set up here. Super Cute. They have a lot of coffee options. It was so hard to choose from. The coquito iced coffee was soo good and the hot mexican mocha was made on point. Cute little spot with lots of parking! I got the horchata cold brew, I think they were out of the horchata coffee? They have 3 sizes for iced drinks, and two sizes for hot. The servers were really nice, they ground my boyfriend's coffee beans he bought there, and they had a cute set up inside! A couple seats are available, and they had some smaller breakfast type options if you need a grab and go! Definitely will be back! read more

Love love love this cozy friendly neighborhood coffee shop with strong drinks, yummy eats, and friendly staff. I also love that is backed by a Latina owner! I've been in about a dozen times and it has been great every time! You can tell they really put their hearts into their craft here at Brewja, especially with their recent remodel making it look like a boutique fashion shop, perfect to snap a quick pic for social media. Their premade drinks and the food/kitchen items to me are the star of the show. Their horchata coffee is the perfect balance and not too sweet. Their breakfast chorizo plate specials and breakfast burritos are also very good and a great value. The only area I would say feels a little expensive is their pastries and made-to-order drinks. I went in and purchased a spinach pastry, cheese danish, and a Mexican mocha and it set me back a solid $21+ dollars after tax. The pastries at ~$6 a pop and drink at ~$8 for a large really felt like a tad bit much for my budget. Also the avocado-toasts are tasty but at ~$13-15 they are a little pricey for my taste, and I pretty easily find myself spending ~$50-60 in here pretty quickly for a couple toasts, coffees, and a pastry. For these reasons I am not able to stop by as often as I would like. Nonetheless, Brewja has become a solid staple in this community and I highly recommend this coffee shop! It always buzzing with a crowd, but not in a way that would be off-putting. They also often have a resident third-party retro mobile flower cart that parks in front on various weekends and offers hand picked beautiful flowers and gives it a cool market vibe! I hope their prices come down a bit to allow the average Joe to be able to enjoy more often as well, but they're on the right track and they're a welcome addition to this particular neighborhood that I sometimes visit and doesn't have many other options available! read more

The vibe inside is perfect--they have a great music playlist, a solid seating area for chatting, selection for pastries, or getting some work done, and a fun collection of board games tucked in the back. Just a heads up that they are entirely cashless, but ordering is a breeze. We tried the Mexican chocolate latte and the dulce de leche latte, upgrading both to a medium for just an extra dollar, and both drinks turned out perfectly strong and sweet. I brought my cousin here for the first time. She had a breakfast taco the yolk was runny and we forgot to tell them well done they gladly changed it to a well-done egg. Been a while since the last time we went to Brewja. Thought we'd stop in for a quick coffee break since we were in the area. Parking lot is pretty small and limited, but street parking is also available. When we arrived, they seemed busy behind the counter. We were the only ones in line with a few parties waiting for their orders on the side. Took a minute for anyone to acknowledge us. Took 10 min before we were able to order- Coquito Iced Coffee and Mazapan Latte. Then another 20 min to get our drinks. I enjoyed the flavors, but found them to be a little too sweet for me. Idk if it's typical to wait so long for drinks here, or if it was a one off experience, but it is something to consider if you're looking to be in and out quickly. read more

Such a cute and cozy spot! As soon as you walk in, the vibe feels warm and inviting. They even had a movie playing on a screen projector which made the atmosphere super relaxing! There are a good amount of seats to choose from as well and it didn't make it seem so crowded. The staff were very friendly too! Great spot to grab and go! Small parking lot, but just enough further customers. A had a hot cafe con leche and enjoyed how it was an overwhelmingly sweet. Staff were in the midst of decorating for the holidays. Seem like a very family, friendly and oriented establishment :) There are a few spots for you to have a coffee day or work remotely. Honestly, the first time I came in, I was helped by the owner and she was amazing! She was super sweet, welcoming, and genuinely made me feel like I had found my new regular coffee spot. They're very slow to approach or acknowledge you, and the interactions can make you feel like you're bothering them just by ordering. Cold or iced? It's whatever they feel like making you. If you buy two coffees the chances of one of them being wrong are close to 100%... they just do not care. And as if that wasn't bad enough, now they're using AI slop for their food items on their menu. So now you won't know if you're even getting what you ordered. We were in the area to play golf and needed somewhere to grab a coffee and breakfast. Did a quick search on Yelp and found Brewja. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but my girlfriend got an horchata latte, which I took a few sips from and I thought it tasted more like a mocha and didn't have much horchata flavor but I still enjoyed it. The surprise was easily their empanadas. I'd come back just for these as they are probably some of the best empanadas I've ever had. These things were full of filling (which is rare) and came out hot and fresh. We tried both the spinach and egg & the cheese and potato, I loved em both. The chimichurri it came with was also tasty. Definitely grab a spoon to make sure you can get some on every bite. 10/10 would come back for their empanadas alone. They are $7.50 each, but one kept me full for most of the morning and into the afternoon. All the staff here were super friendly and the space is beautifully decorated. To note, circle the lot a few times and cars come and go. (Non-metered) What a menu! While a bit elevated price-wise from just a typical cup of joe at your local donut shop, I was into it and here for it. I noted a local radio DJ had a special coffee on the menu called the Cherry Cream Cold Brew..yum! Is cherry the new it-flavor this season? I almost ordered that one, but the amazing staff let me sample the Coquito Iced Coffee (Little Coconut), and I was sold. Other notable mentions: the Fresh Mint Cold Brew, Dulce de Leche Latte, and Mexican Mocha. Also yes, they have a non-sweet coffee menu too..but had to mention the good good! Really cool savory/bakery menu too. I ordered an egg/spinach empanada which they warmed (comes with a delicious Chimichurri Sauce). They also carry Tutuli Coyotas (so fun, look this up!) and other yummy breakfast/snacks. Also to note, this spot is visually and aesthetically a very cool vibe. They had a kiddo movie playing from a projector on one wall, and really just the place to-be if you're looking to open your laptop while on the road. We were given a warm welcome by the owner, and our order was taken and delivered to our table promptly. As a person who eats gluten free, I was delighted to learn they now have GLUTEN FREE TOAST! So I ordered the hot chick toast with gluten free bread, and asked if they can add bacon. It was no problem. I think next time, I would add an extra egg if possible. I had iced matcha with almond milk, which cooled me down when my food was spicy :) My husband got the chorizo burrito and steak empanada and iced horchata coffee, all of which he enjoyed. We have been coming here for years, even before they had a full food menu and before their renovations. It's always been a solid spot with delicious selections here. this is a cute little coffee shop on the corner of a small plaza in san lorenzo. they had a few outdoor seating with cute chairs -- perfect for outdoor. when you step inside, you'd find seating from left to right. beach style vibe is what I'm getting. it's cozy enough to stay and do some work rather than just grabbing a coffee. they also have ample amount of parking. service was fast and staff were also polite. This is such a cute little cafe! I came in with a couple girlfriends for a morning meetup to celebrate my birthday, and the staff were so sweet! I've never been there before, but they were really patient about all my questions and comments. They have several tables and chairs inside and a cute little swingy chair, too. They have pastries to eat with your choice of cafe beverage as well, but I think sometimes they can run out of them when they've been busy. I had ordered the churro toast and the tropical green tea. My friends had ordered other things, too, but I had forgotten exactly what they had. I know one friend had ordered the peanut butter and banana toast, but I forgot what drinks they ordered. We were all really happy with our orders! The churro toast was perfect. I think it was delicious: perfectly toasted, but not too sweet! I also enjoyed my green tea. I dislike hot beverages, so the iced green tea was perfect for me! I had a really great experience at this cafe, and I would not hesitate to come back! I Came in on March 30 @ 10:40am. I ordered an elote toast and Dulce de leche coffee. Sadly she had no elote toast. Which I understood. My daughter wanted a small watermelon drink or lemonade. The cashier said they did not have any. A lady came from the back and said she can make one. But the cashier did not look to happy that her coworker came out to offer after she had said no. They had some cups of a small pineapple and large watermelon drinks in the front. I asked her if we can have a small watermelon and she said no we had to buy the large at this point I felt she didn't want to sell us anything. So we only purchases 3 items. I use to bring my kids here between 2020 trough 2023 and today my daughter asked if we can come back and give it a try. I try to give a spot multiple visits before I give a review. The food quality has been consistently good. The empanadas are delicious. Coffee service and food can both be slow. The workers spend a lot of time chatting when making drinks and are a bit distracted. The coffee shop is very cute but I must say it can be VERY loud. Even with noise cancelling headphones, the music makes it feel less like a cafe or coffee shop. Conversation is difficult. Even when the workers call the names on people's order, they need to do so multiple times because people tend not to be able to hear them. Between the very loud espresso machines (not much you can do about that) and the music, if you need to sit and get a little work done, this is not the place. Again, after many visits, this is the reality I have to admit. I wanted to like this place for a spot to work, but unless the volume levels come down, it'll be a pick up and go spot only for me. **editing my review after my experience today. Waited for 40 minutes for a simple Avocado Toast. When I went to the counter the cashier was a little snippy with me and told me "it takes time..." and rolled her eyes when I asked to take it to go. I had already finished my large latte and needed to get on with my day. The order was avocado mash on a piece of toasted bread. Had to give a shoutout to Juan Carlos for the bomb carne asada burrito--compliments to the chef! This was our third visit, and we finally tried the burrito... and wow, it did not disappoint. So flavorful and perfectly made. Their salsa was also a standout--freshly made, and you can definitely taste the difference. It added the perfect kick to the burrito. We also had the black cold brew and an iced Mexican mocha, and both drinks were just as good. You know it's quality coffee when even the black cold brew has noticeable citrusy notes.
