My friends and I came here when they opened at 12 on Thursday and it was great because we basically had the whole place to ourselves. It's great for families and is dog friendly. There's almost like a food truck but it's a small building next to the main entrance where you can order food at and then you can get alcoholic drinks inside. It's all self serving pretty much. There's tons of outdoor seating which is nice and if you walk down the path to the creek there's even more chairs and games.

Loved the atmosphere and plenty of space. Good amount of parking. They had a food truck that was pretty good but definitely took some time for the food to be ready. For the Brewing Tree Scratch Kitchen, we ordered the 'MFT' Italian Hoagie and the pumpkin whoopie pie. The Hoagie was good but a little spicy and the whoopie pie had a great flavor. Our friends ordered the Maple-Honey Butter Sweet Potato Fries and those were absolutely delicious, definitely recommend! For our drinks, I ordered the Apple Lager which was pretty tart but good overall. My friend got the Pina Colada slushie which was mainly just coconut. They had little buckets of candy to for Halloween. Overall a cute spot and great atmosphere.

This was a really cool brewery from the road it was very inviting!! There was cool booth outside that made ice creams and stuff that wasn't opened when we came so we went inside.. place was really comfortable and cute inside.. good choices of beers and they let you try before you get a glass. They had seasonal beers as well as regular all year round. They sold tshirts and different merchandise. We took our beers outside as there was a very nice mountain breeze. There's a spot for a band to play as well as a sloping walk down to a nice creek where you can sip a beer in hammock or at picnic table.. some people were swimming so we didn't go but how cool they have that!! I could sit there all day very peaceful and dog friendly!

Absolutely amazing vibes here! Great pricing for the drinks and they do free beers if you try out their Apple sling shot where if you make an apple into their barrel you get a free beer! But it's super hard lol & you have to pay $1 for 5 apples. They also have free cornhole & other fun things like a River you can walk down to & drink your beers & other stuff down the pathway from the main entrance. Will be coming back! Great customer service too here and loved the outside live music, we came on a Saturday

We discovered this brewery for ourselves by accident while driving to DE from NC - it is about midway. Lots of outdoor activities - hammock, seating next to a river. A perfect midway break for lunch. Girls enjoyed the Food truck and we picked up a couple cases. We will definitely hit this place again this week when we go visit NC again. Owners are super nice. Beer is top notch.

We recently stumbled across this spot, and now have been back many times. It's an unassuming spot with great beers, live music, and access to the river running through it. On a weekend, you can find lots of kids playing in the water, dogs chasing sticks, and adults relaxing throughout the lower area. In the summer the river bar is open which keeps you from having to go up and down the large hill to get additional drinks. We haven't tried the food yet, but there is a food truck on site. The staff is really nice and the service is good. Definitely a place to add to your rotation for outdoor spots in the summer!

Cute place! Good beer, actual food cooked to order and ice cream too. Ample seating. If you have rugrats- lots of places for them to run around (a field and a sand play area) and also it's still such a big space that adults can relax without it feeling like a playground (instead of the intended "mostly adult space where kids are welcome" ). There is live music , friendly service, and it even sits on the river! There is inside seating too. I saw some goldfinches in the sunflowers. To add further to the cute vibe, there's a wrap-around porch. Yep, it was a good place! I'll be back now, ya hear?

I went there on memorial day weekend to stop in for a flight with my husband and dog. To our surprise, they allow dogs inside and have an amazing outdoor space that goes all the way down to a creek. We didn't try any of the food from the food truck, but it smelled so good. The woman who helped us at the bar was so friendly, and gave us a good rundown of what the property had to offer. Really enjoyed our time there and definitely planning to go back. We really enjoyed the flight of beers we had.

Husband and I stopped here on a tour of Nelson 151. It's a nice, casual atmosphere. We shared a beer flight and soft pretzels outside on the porch. Everything was delicious. There was live music and lots of dogs (on leashes). There's a cool area around back down by the water for nature lovers (and smokers) to hang out. There's even an axe throwing area. Can't wait to go back and try more of their brews and more snacks from the food truck!

Even more than the beer, I LOVE the location. The main building is like a large cabin, rustic, yet modern with a large bar. Covered wrap around porch is great so you can enjoy the great outdoors with shade from the sun. Lots more tables on the grounds. Places for kids to play. A lovely creek running behind the property. Lots to enjoy. Beers are above average, but not great.... The menu looks really good, too. We only tried the fried pickles on our visit. Some of the best we've had. Certainly want to stop by again.

A spacious brewery tasting area with a very good food truck out front. Try the Bada Bing Shrimp. A decent amount of shrimp dressed with a sweet tangy sauce, toasted poppie seeds laid on a bed of veggies. I shared that with the wife and added 2 $5 burgers, very good, followed by a draught. A nice place to stop and enjoy a day out.

Ordered the blood orange ipa. Delicious! Only ordered one beer since we are brewery hopping. But the river .....the wild flowers.. .the music was on point!

But the beer had other ideas. As expected, it was excellent--cold, confident, and clearly in no mood to be rushed. Everything was clean and orderly. The burger arrived and did not disappoint. Honest, well-made, the sort of meal that reminds you why you ordered it in the first place. My wife's brisket sandwich, meanwhile, was everything brisket ought to be--tender, rich, and just indulgent enough to feel like a reward rather than a mistake. Fries came alongside, hot and crisp, doing their job without complaint or ceremony. And then, on the way out--as these things tend to happen--we stopped at the bar. That's where we met Vance. What followed was less a quick cocktail and more a conversation with drinks attached. The cocktails were excellent, but the company made them memorable. Vance makes a great adult beverage. All in all, Devil's Backbone isn't just a place to eat and drink. It's a place where a simple plan quietly turns into a better evening than you expected.

During the summer, there are BBQ areas and lots of out door seating. A large outside stage has bands and entertainment. There is a campground and RV area with shared shower houses. The camping area is year round. The gift shop has outdoor colors (forest green, browns) tops and sweatshirts. The long sleeved t-shirts are $29. The short sleeved tye died shirts were my favorite. The restaurant has the "resident" stuffed bear. At the entrance. We were expecting a 15 min wait but were seated earlier. The menu has a beer and beverage menu. The dining menu has burgers, fries and vegetarian items. We enjoyed hot chocolate. Our friends had sandwiches and fries. I enjoyed the vegan chili. It was delicious. Spiral noodles didn't work in the Mac and cheese. The place wasn't crowded. I bet that the grounds would be crowded with guests during the summer.
