We loved our visit to Brewery Becker today, as usual. They have the best Hefeweizen ever! We also enjoyed their Porter for the first time, and it was soooo good! read more

Brewery Becker - a glass of beer on a table - Breweries Near Me - Brighton, Michigan

This is first and foremost a brewery, they don't really serve food. Popcorn, Pretzels the usual salty fair to make you thirsty. They don't seem to have a problem with you bringing food in from other places. They sometimes run Groupons for flights. It's a good way to sample various beers. Almost all beers here are darker - Ambers and Stouts, they brew according to "Viking Recipes and Tradition ". The selection rotates regularly. They have done some straw/gold color beers. I'm m a big fan of their Hefeweizen. Lots of board games to play and a decent amount of seating, and a great patio in the summer. read more

Extremely kind staff, they made great suggestions! They didn't have any full meals- but quality beer and great snacks. I'd recommend their pretzel, it was delicious! I loved the beer garden. Even with a decent amount of people we followed social distancing spacing and with how it's designed you didn't feel crowded. Will absolutely be back! read more

Great atmosphere. Cool building and staff were very friendly and helpful with the different beers.

Visited again. The beer is still luke warm, they still need some music and a moving wait staff. The beer is still okay at best. If the previous reviewer claims the are focusing on just their beer (sounds like an employee of the brewery to me) perhaps they should really focus on making their beer so damn good that people don't complain about being bored or wanting snacks/food. In my opinion if you're opening a real brewpub reminiscent of that of Ireland or Germany then your beer better be delicious, cold (or slightly above room temp depending on the type of beer) and so damn good that people have no choice but to rave about the beer. If that was the case, you would see reviews such as "amazing brew, amazing establishment" All I see is "the inside is beautiful, the building is nice...the beer is good" That doesnt seem good enough. Here's my suggestion. 1. Beer beer beer. Hire a true brew master for a few months to get the quality unbelievably amazing. People will drive from all over if it is. See: Royal Oak Brewery. 2. Hire amazing acoustic bands that will get the entire place singing along. If you want to follow that overseas feeling, I think good accoustic music is an absolute must. Don't cop out and get a junk digital juke box either. 3. You should encourage event nights. Tournaments. Something to get the place exciting and having fun. 4. Dont assume just serving beer and a shuffle board table is going to get the place moving. Its going to take effort. If you arent offering food and youre going to be smug enough to say "well go next door and bring some food over" then your beer needs to be goddam worth doing just that. Otherwise its a massive turn off for patrons. So to recap, make the beer AMAZING and start building an atmosphere in this beautiful building. Otherwise, the novelty will wear off and everyone will realize the poorly brewed beer, while it tastes moderately "okay" at best, is giving them gas and acid reflux and never return. Good luck, and again i REALLY hope Brewery Becker takes off... Im actually a mug club member, and Im not ready to count it out yet, I just think they are going through some growing pains. Ugh I'd so love to offer ideas to help this place win. read more

One of my absolute favorite places to go!! The beer here is some of the best I've had in my life. Enjoy a nice Michigan day in their beer garden with a delicious drinkable beer. I've tried every beer they have and have never been disappointed. The service is always great, the atmosphere is cool, and the beer speaks for itself. It's a must go if you're in the area. read more

I gave Brewery Becker at try for the first time last week. Unfortunately, it may be the last time. The bar and facility itself is beautiful! They did a great job in renovating this old building! However, they seemed to forget that this was a bar! The atmosphere is boring to say the least. I counted only one TV in the entire place. Hope you don't want to see a game! The staff was not friendly and the beer was below average. That is if you could get beer because half of the beer options on the menu had run out and were not available. My friend, who was with me isn't a big fan of micro brews. But we went in figuring they would at least be able to provide an alternative (liquor). Nope on the liquor. Maybe they might have a domestic beer, in case they run out of their own...Nope! I sure am hungry, can I see a menu? Nope, you can have old popcorn or a brat that has been spinning on the 7-11 cooker for hours! The back of the bar looked like an old abandoned house's book shelf with nothing but the employee's keys. It just looked shabby. There was only one pour station and we had to wait for our beer because of that fact. The beautiful building in combination of poor service, environment and most importantly, bad beer doesn't lead me to think this place will be open for long! read more

I enjoyed this brewery! Very German feel and love the lay back ambience of the place. A lot of different beer variety and shuffleboard for interactive games. Will be back!:) read more

Came in from Los Angeles to visit family and we decided to come to the brewery. It is a very cute town and the brewery is in a great location. They have a shuffle board table and a beer garden. The beers are very good and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. They offer some popcorn and bratwurst as well. Would definitely come back! read more

Good Beer, Shuffleboard and some old school board games without a lot of televisions. Three levels, all open, with a bar on the first and second floors. I really loved the English style IPA but the Shandy was excellent and fruity as well. As the other reviewer noted, not too keen on charging for popcorn at a brewery??? Outside beer garden coming soon, should be the place to sit while there on those cool MI nights. read more

Diverse beers and group friendly! We were impressed! There are familiar beers (e.g. IPA, hefeweizen...) and some unique beers as well. Tasters (i.e. flights) are generous and reasonably priced. I was very fond of the IPA featuring centennial hops which would be a great way to introduce domestic beer drinkers with "hops-phobia" to the style. The food menu might be tiny, but they allow outside food, though I don't know which nearby places might deliver (menus would be nice). Other breweries have had great success with this approach, so I'm not complaining. It was quiet, but not bad for a weekday and I think the large tables are well suited to bringing a group of friends to try some beers without music/crowds drowning out your conversation. Unfortunately, the brewing area was not lit so I couldn't eye all the cool brewing equipment through the windows. read more

I love the outside beer garden! Such a great place to relax and visit with friends. Nice staff, beer is pretty good (I'm not a beer expert). Friendly staff and dog-friendly place too! read more

Moving this up to five stars. A Vargdricka growler has since become a weekly staple in the refrigerator and the rest of the beers remain excellent. I'm really digging the abundance of farmhouse styles on tap. This place remains one of the few places you can go for a drink and conversation without having to deal with an overabundance of TVs and top 40 hits blasting on the radio. Great atmosphere! read more

Service is fantastic, and the beer selection is great. As an out of towner, Becker Brewery was a hit for me. read more

Brewery Becker - Definitely try the Bello Belgae... With 12.5% alcohol it'll definitely make your Jenga game more interesting. - Breweries Near Me - Brighton, Michigan

This is one of the most beautiful breweries in Southeastern Michigan. They have a very wide variety of brews and some fun beer cocktails as well. The beer names are great, who doesn't want to try the ENTIRE BUTT Brew? Shuffleboard is free, and although they don't have a full menu, can argue with all you can eat popcorn for $1.00? We put our name on the wait list for dinner across the street and spent another hour at the brewery...no regrets! read more

We recently hosted our staff party at Brewery Becker and it was the best staff party we've ever had. The building itself is gorgeous! Such great ambiance and nice views of downtown Brighton. Our bartender, Colleen, was fantastic. We're already planning on making this our annual spot for our staff party. Definitely check it out. read more

This place is a-ok. gor the record. I'm not disappointed by the lack of menu options. In fact, I'm used to good breweries focusing on what they're good at...beer. This place has good beer. Period. In my opinion, it's good but not stellar. As you've probably read, the ambiance is trendy but I don't think it's too over-the-top. It's worth a visit. The place is neat and clean. Check out the cool old pics and display by the bathroom doors. read more

This place is pretty cool. It's huge! Each level has plenty of seating and the atmosphere is pretty fun. Great place for groups. I had the Belgian Tripel and the Hefeweizen...both were pretty good! read more

Brewery Becker - Levels on levels - Breweries Near Me - Brighton, Michigan

This Place is absolutely horrible at customer service. We rented out a space from them for a private party and there were a lot of hidden costs and fees. The owner is a nightmare to get ahold of. She is rude and very inconsiderate for someone who owns a business and expects you to pay for their services. She wanted the party to set up during the 2 hour rental window, she then expect us to clean up during the 2 hour party window. She was not upfront about any of this. We ended up having to pay almost double just to ensure the party was set up and then we were charged AGAIN so we could clean up. Horrible customer service....I would not recommend this place to anyone for anything. read more

This place has a really fun vibe to it, and I love the location in downtown Brighton. The beers were delish, bartenders were friendly and cool. Loved the large pretzel with spicy mustard. I just wish there were more substantial food options so I could stay longer! After a couple of beers I feel like I need a proper meal, you know? Still, I would definitely come back to start the night off or finish my evening with a brewski. read more

What a great atmosphere (and the beer is awesome, too)! Christine and Anthony provide such a warm, friendly and fun atmosphere. We have never had anything but great service and a good time everytime we have come! Mahalo! read more

Excellent IPA (North Coaster) - a "juicy" IPA. Great atmosphere for late afternoon charcuterie too. Friendly staff.

Beer was good but terrible service. We showed up and the waitress rushed us through our first order of food and we only ordered the hummus while we waited for her to return to take the rest of our food order. When she returned to our table with our drinks she informed us the kitchen had closed. Terrible to leave us with drinks and no ability to get food. She should have told us this up front so we didn't get stuck with a table full of drinks and three hungry kids. read more

Enjoyed a beer here with a friend this past weekend, and had a pleasant experience. Nice atmosphere here and a place where you can also enjoy conversation while sipping on your brew of choice. I had the maple Pilsner which was nice and refreshing. Old school shuffleboard was a good touch here and they were playing some great tunes (oldies), which really was the right playlist for the mood in the pub at the time. Would be nice to see a little more on the list, but from what I gather they do a bit of switching in and out with new brews. No IPAs or Pale Ales, but some tasty creative brews nonetheless. Service was good, and bartender was helpful with answering questions. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

Brewery Becker - Mark's Maple Pilsner. Very good - Breweries Near Me - Brighton, Michigan

What a wonderful place with amazing drink choices. Some of the beers I tasted here I've never been able to taste anywhere else. I was here when another woman posted a bad review. These servers are people and they treated my party and I perfectly. At no point in time did I feel disrespected or confronted. Let's face it folks, some people are easily offended. Don't let the few bad reviews of the place stop you from experiencing the amazing atmosphere and wonderful flavors that this place has to offer. It would be a disservice to yourself if you didn't try this place out for yourself. Don't take my word for it... Try this place out and form your own opinion... That's what really matters. Have fun, enjoy the flavors, and try something new! read more

Not my favorite brewery. The decor is very nice and the outdoor seating is lively however the beer is just ok. My beer was a tough swallow at first then it grew on me. I am writing this review the next morning and after just 2 beers last night I have a slight headache. Becker does not sell food but you can bring your own or order a delivery. While our service was friendly it was not the fastest. read more

Love this place. Beautiful Colonial style Brewery with incredible Ales. Bartenders are all knowledgeable and very friendly. CoCo was our bartender and she's is awesome. She is a Viking shield maiden if you know what I mean. My favorite downstate brewery. read more

See other reviews on the building, music, and food (or lack thereof). I go to brewery tasting rooms for the beer. If they don't have a TV, that's a plus. The brewer likes period correct brews. OK. I think he's a minority, but maybe he'll win some hearts and minds. We tried a few, the pilsner is the **best I've had in the USA**. The rest were in the meh catagory. Not bad, just not wow. If you're looking for something unusual, this is your place. read more

The service alone was a nightmare. Went in on a Sunday. My beer was ok, my husband triple ale tasted like soap. Needless to say we didn't even finish our drinks and headed out. read more

This was an old hotel back in the day. It has the very cool bar that I'd imagine is the original from the hotel. The dining space is pretty large with plenty of seating and an upstairs that was reserved when we dropped in. Service was fast and efficient with multiple servers banding together to take care of the floor of patrons. I tried several of their beers and liked ALL of them. Most notable, the Cap n' Strawberry was pretty much spot on with its cereal inspiration. The Kolsch and their wheat beer were great too. Food was, meh. They have a few sausages served with accoutrements like sauerkraut and assorted mustards. The hot mustard is horseradish HOT, fyi. It's really good though. The chips and salsa were different, with sugar and chili powder on the chips and a pretty basic salsa. My buddy had the pretzel and said it was ok enough. The sausages are certainly worth trying. Basically, come for the beer and stay for....more beer. Where most breweries have a few really solid beer options, this place has it dialed in. All the pours were great! read more

Beautiful building in a nice part of town. Amazing staff and above all magnificent beer. I try to stop in ever time in Brighton.

Nice beer bar in a gorgeous building, right on the end of the west stretch of Main Street before the railroad tracks. Truly a traditional German feel to it, as despite being in a three story building, I found it to be a tough place to spot driving by, as the sign is small and out of the way. Certainly more meant to be a walk up and in sort of bierhaus, as the food offerings are extremely limited (popcorn, pretzels, quality like that of a high school football game), and the menu encourages outside food. The staff isn't absent or inattentive, they're more participating in the conversational nature of the spot's vibe, as it lends itself to be a chill place to gather and catch up. They brew a nice variety of beers, from saisons to stouts, so the beer snobs in your group should at least enjoy themselves in trying the 10 beers listed. read more

I love that this is my local brewery. I just moved here from Colorado where breweries are plentiful. Michigan has a lot of great breweries too. Brewery Becker offers a great selection of craft beers. There is an outdoor biergarten which is great in the summer, and the venue has a nice private event area upstairs. The staff are both friendly and knowledgeable. Try the Vardricka which is usually on tap. It is a Scandinavian farmhouse ale that is based on the daily drink of the Vikings. read more

We went on Saturday around 5 using a groupon for 10 flights for two people. My husband and I enjoyed all the beers. Only thing was they could have been colder. Ordered the hummus with pita which was quite good ! Overall good experience we plan to go back! read more

Brewery Becker - 11 Flights of beer - Breweries Near Me - Brighton, Michigan

I am really torn about this place. They did an immaculate job renovating the place; my wife and I typically refer to this building as being the best job of any historic building restoration in the area. On top of that, I have always loved the staff and felt very welcome here. Unfortunately, this is a brewery, and, I found their beer to be mediocre at best. Most beers just seem on the shorter side of flavor. I am not sure if this has to do with the removal of gluten from the beers (which is a huge bonus for my wife!), but, our friends and family have said the same thing. I will continue to come here and try new beers as they are released, and I truly hope my taste buds change their mind! read more

Brewery Becker - Enjoying some great beer - Breweries Near Me - Brighton, Michigan

Deserves long review, but I'm not doing it because I'm old and hate typing on phones. Cool place, very lovingly restored old building. Outstanding beers apparently. I'm years past beer judging floral statements, but Belgian dubbel tastes very true to style and very well made, 1st 2 sips of west coat IPA also well made and yummy, perfect balance imo. Claim to fame is unusual Nordic styles (vargdricka), soured Belgian beers, somewhat niche German styles (eg Kolsch, dunkelweuzen) French Saisons., etc. Really great place to go if you're interested in traditional styles but tired of all American ambers or ipas all the time. I'd consider letting them adopt me if I wasn't a dad too. read more

Fun scenery. Very nice staff. Can stroll Downtown Brighton. Can bring in your own food. Eat out on the patio as well.

Hidden gem. Possibly the best place to drink in Brighton. Liquid is great. Staff is just as good. Sit outside in the garden at night.

Another great brewery! It's awesome to have a brewery with an amazing, unique atmosphere and beer that matches that amazing experience. We've been there twice and we have always had the couple that works there serve us. They're very attentive, easy to engage in a conversation with and knowledgeable on the beers they're serving. I definitely will be going back a lot more.... especially for their fruit braggot! read more
