Finally had the chance to check this place out. I love the simple modern design. Our bartenders Patrick and Adam were fabulous, very informative and managed a busy bar very well. We had the deviled eggs and they were quite tasty. I see others have complained about this place being to busy and not being able to get a seat for 45 minutes, that's just ridiculous your really going to slam a place just because they are busy, who doesn't want to be busy? When we arrived it was infact busy and they had us sitting at the bar within minutes. Hats off to another great place to hang out! read more

We will not be returning to this place! The food was NOT stellar! Our plates were completely full when we asked for the check and our server was NOT observant enough to notice that we barely picked at it. Being in the service industry we were disappointed with the lack of customer service and inability to recognize customer dissatisfaction. Our tab was $56.00 and we still decided to go to a different establishment that we could rely on for good service and EXCELLENT food! It's all about the board at BREW'D. The giant blackboard behind the bar lists 20 beers on tap. Great variety and they let you sample up to a certain number for free. A friend was being finicky and by the time he got to his 5th "taster" the barman said, "I'm gonna have to start charging you for these." Which was legit. The manager here is unprofessional and very poorly trained in terms of customer service. We went out with a group of 7, we are in our 30's, and all professionals. It is a very rare occasion that we go out together but we were celebrating a farewell. The hostess was friendly and helpful from the start and the same can be said for the server. About 20 minutes after being seated a manager comes up to us and reprimands the four females in our group for hurting the hostess' feelings by talking about a sore on her lip which he attributed to a medical illness. WHAT THE HECK??!! We felt like we were in the twilight zone. We explained that we were not talking about her sore (hello, is this the 7th grade all over again?) and the only time her name was brought up was because one of the women complimented her earrings and another complimented how friendly and excited she seemed after our group finally got a table. Other than that, we really didn't spend our very rare occasion of hanging out together talking about someone we don't know at all. Perhaps this manager is not aware but we don't enjoy going out to mock random people because we are not 13 year-olds and we are paying customers who should have been treated more appropriately. In addition, two of us in the party work in medical clinics so we see sores, injuries, disabilities, etc everyday so it really doesn't make sense that we would be targeting someone like that. This place may close down in a short time like the few places before it and that may be the best thing. Perhaps then this manager (owner?) will have time to self-reflect on whether there is a better career choice for him. If he and the hostess had concerns he should have asked politely to speak with one of us on the side rather than making assumptions and accosting us in front of other patrons. The Brew'd concept is very similar to Real (same owners), but the two are not quite the same. And that's a good thing because I love both places. If you're looking for a short review of Brew'd, here it is: The beer is great. The food is great. The staff is great. The atmosphere is great. If you want a lot more info, read on: I really have no complaints about Brew'd, but there's probably two things people who have never been before might want to know: (1) Brew'd is smaller and more intimate than Real so you may have to wait to get in if you try to go during a busy time; and (2) finding parking can be a challenge because Brew'd only has a few stalls available behind the restaurant. If those are full (most likely), you will need to find street parking, which is usually available within a block or so of Brew'd. With those disclaimers out of the way, let's talk about the beer. If you're looking for something like Heineken, Bud, or Coors, you won't have any luck here, but your super-knowledgeable server or bartender can probably recommend something else that you would like just as much (probably more). This is a craft beer place (hence the name) so you can expect to find lots of beer choices you've never seen before or haven't tried before. And that's what is so fun about Brew'd. No matter how many times I go, they are guaranteed to have several beers available that I've never had before. Although Brew'd does not have as many beers on tap as its sister establishment, it does have an always-excellent selection of rotating draft beers. Brew'd also has a beer engine, which I do not believe Real has, and I haven't seen one anywhere else on the island. So that will give you a unique beer option at the very least. If you don't want anything that's on tap, Brew'd has a large selection of bottled beer, which is also constantly rotated. Adam, who was awesome at Real, has come over to Brew'd to run their beer program. He's very knowledgeable and friendly, and he does a fantastic job bringing in great beers to Brew'd. Not only is Adam great, but so are the rest of the staff at Brew'd. All of the servers and bartenders are very knowledgeable about the beers. If you're not sure what to drink, they can help you identify something you'll like by either telling you about the available beers or by recommending something based on what you tell them about other beers you like. On top of that, the staff is very attentive and friendly, be it your server/bartender or the bussers/bar backs. I always find the service to be top notch. I also love the food at Brew'd. It's similar fare to what you'd find at Real, that is primarily tapas-style options, but the menus are otherwise distinct from one another. There are some larger menu items available, but that isn't the focus of the menu. My fiance and I usually just share a few different plates when we come in for a meal and leave full. Check the specials on the inside cover of the menu. There's almost always something good there. Otherwise, the menu does change somewhat regularly so it's hard to recommend specific food items since they may not be available anymore. I will say that I am rarely disappointed in the food. The short rib poutine is very good, although I really miss the adobo poutine (bring back please!). The porchetta sandwich is great, although that may not be available anymore. They also have a pork taco that is quite tasty. If you like Real, check out Brew'd. If you like beer, check out Brew'd. If you like food, check out Brew'd. I will definitely be back. read more

First time trying Brew'd this evening. Service was great, very friendly and speedy with the bringing out of drinks/food and clearing out dishes as they emptied (good thing too because the table was kind of small, even for two!)! We got there around 6:15PM and did not have to wait to be seated...I'm guessing the Happy Hour crew just left. I don't have much of a palette for drinking so all I can remember of what I had was that it was a blackberry cider or something like that, the boyfriend got some beer I'll never know even if you said it to me! I was there to eat! We ordered the brussel sprouts, warm mushroom salad, short rib poutine, shrimp and grits and a fish taco each....everything was good, not amazing but good. I felt the sprouts needed more flavoring, even be saltier, salad needed more dressing, and the fish taco needed more dressing/flavoring too....we really liked the shrimp and grits though! And the poutine was tasty too. although I like REAL's version better (more gravy and cheese curds!). Our bill was about $65...a little pricey but you expect that I guess at a gastropub! I wouldn't NOT go there again, if I'm in the mood, why not?!?! read more

Okay place. I would rate it higher but for the ambiance. It's extremely loud. Impossible to hold a conversation here. The other problem is the limited menu compared to Real gastro pub. If you're a foody and meat eater, this place is for you. They have a set menu with tastey selections and a rotating menu with new and local fare. If you're a vegetarian (like me), come for the beer. There's really no food to order, but there's a large, rotating selection of local and mainland beers, seasonal and otherwise. Trivia once a month is a great time too. read more

I heard about this place from my co-workers and decided to try it out. It took a while to get seated which was weird because there was an open table in plain sight. They have an excellent selection of beers. Our first round was based on our server's recommendation. It was good but took forever to reach us. I had the saison ale. The menu had some interesting dishes and we ordered quite a bit. We of course waited a long time for our food which we expected lol. We also expected good food but were very disappointed. The chicken wings had a bizarre after taste and we had to drink several beers just to get rid of it. Maybe that's their way of making you order more. Yech - stay away from the wings! The pork sliders were way too salty which of course made us drink more beers. Everything else was either too sweet or too salty. My god, good thing they have a lot beer to wash that stuff down. I'll definitely be back for the beer but I won't be ordering any food off their menu. read more

Would give them a 0. Some of the rudest service I've ever seen. We were ready to spend a lot of money on the selection, but they decided to close early, for some made up reasons. They had already locked their doors a half hour early and couldn't even give us the courtesy of opening them to talk to us face to face to explain. We could see and hear them inside continue to drink and talk about how much more time they had to drink while we sat outside waiting for a cab. Classiest people ever. read more

We've been back here 3-4 times at least. The beer selection is very solid and the food is usually way better than average for a pub. The poutine is solid, the thai wings are good. Even things like the Szechuan Cauliflower are really good. Other stuff can be hit or miss. Prices are a bit steep but it's good quality. Two beers and some shared food is easily about $50per person. And on the weekends, the place is a zoo. They don't take reservations, so if you're more than two people, you're better off going elsewhere. We wished we had. The last couple of times we tried to get in with 4 people on a Friday night (months apart) we waited for between 1-2 hours for a table! The hostess kept leading us on, saying 'another ten minutes' and 'any time now' which made it a bit more aggravating. And we ended up feeling like kids on a road trip asking "Are we there yet?". They say you can drink and wait outside, but every time we've been outside waiting, we ended up getting soaked by the rain, which is common at night there. And standing around waiting over an hour for a table isn't fun under almost any circumstances. Going there with kids would be especially foolhardy since there's really nothing to do for them while you wait. It's nice to support your local pub, but in this case, they're getting plenty of support already and unless you really have time to kill on a weekend night, there are several other great places to drink beer in town. I've never tried on a weekday, so maybe that's the time to go. read more

Visited Brew'd for the first time this past weekend with my wife and we had a great time. I'm a big beer lover and my wife is more into cocktails. We decided to sit at the bar that night. The bartender was very knowledgable about beers, cocktails, and all of the food on the menu. The place was uniquely decorated and utilized the space they had wisely so that it does not feel as tight as it actually is. For food we ordered the truffled dungeness deviled eggs, candied bacon, and some sliders of some type but can't remember what they were called. All of these were delicious especially the bacon. Beer selection is great and cocktails were made to please. We will definitely be going back again. Only downside is the wait times during the weekends. If you get there before 6:30 your wait time will be little to none but any later and the wait time can be between 15 and 40 minutes. If your a big beer fan like myself and haven't been here, it is definitely worth the wait. read more
