Wonderful place to watch a sporting event. There are fabulous beer specials virtually everyday if you are a craft beer lover. What is surprising for a sports bar is the quality and speed of the food. I have been to Brewbakers on four different occasions and had the fish & chips (which I would give 5/5 stars), burger (5/5 stars), chicken fingers (4/5 stars) and waffle fries with cheese dip (off the charts wonderful and unhealthy). The only drawback is that if you come to watch a game, once it gets busy it is tough to get waited on. read more

We've been to Brewbakers numerous times. The service was good as usual. No complaints there. Two medium cooked burgers were ordered. One came out medium, one came out rare. Not sure how this happens. Our server was apologetic. We asked that the undercooked burger was taken off our bill. Usually a manager comes by sometime during the stay, to see if everything is a-ok, guess they don't do this anymore. Hopefully Brewbakers works on some quality control on the grill. read more

I have come here 3 times in the past 2 years or so, and each time I would prob give it a diff amount of stars. 1st time I came, I ordered the Fish and Chips, they were pretty good over all. My family was in from out of town, and everyone was pretty happy with the food. The place can get really busy in the evenings when games are on, but that seems pretty typical of any of the decent bar and grills. The 2nd time I came, it was for the Burger specials they have I believe on Monday. The burger itself was pretty underwhelming. It was a pretty big patty, but just didn't have any flavor. The Cheese Curds were wonderful though, the fried pickles here are just Okay to me. The last time I was here, was for Sunday Brunch, and I think that was my only 5 star experience here. The brunch buffet has almost all the things I love to eat for breakfast and then some. It also has a dessert table that has all sorts of tasty treats especially happy with the cheese cake. While I don't recommend the burgers here, everything else I have tried is pretty good for bar food, and the brunch is one of the better ones around. We have driven by this place a gazillion times and finally decided to stop in. I had no idea it was a sports bar. If you have ADD, you'll be completely unable to have a conversation because there are a gazillion televisions in there!!! Let's get to the food...the menu is pretty typical: burgers, sandwiches, wraps, and some entrees. They also have a good selection of appetizers and salads. The prices are great, $10-$15 per person. My boyfriend had the Brewburger. It was beautiful on the plate...melted cheese cascading down. However, I'd recommend ordering it just a bit under what you actually want it. He ordered medium well and it was definitely well done but still completely flavorful. It's a 2-hander for sure!! I ordered the Reuben. This is by far the best Reuben I've found in Olathe/Lenexa so far!! The pumpernickel was flavorful, the cheese was plentiful and melted to perfection and the corned beef was thin slices and piled high! It didn't have that processed lunch meat texture or flavor either!! I opted for the waffle fries and they were cooked to perfection...not a drop of grease on the whole plate! We ate here with a group of six before the official grand opening, but I'm not sure I ever need to go back. The decor is really nice and the upscale sports bar theme is nice. Other than that I was unimpressed. The food was pricey and not as good as Johnny's or Tanner's sports bar-type food. The brewburger was decent, but for the price I expected something more. The fries were pretty average. My wife had the beer cheese soup and a salad and she wasn't really impressed by either. We ordered the pretzel sticks as an appetizer. The cheese dip was pretty good, but the pretzel sticks kind of sucked. Our waitress also had a horrible attitude. When a member of our party asked about the "craft beer" selections that was hyped in the menu, she told him he could walk across the restaurant and read them for himself off a chalk board. She delivered our food really slowly and awkwardly, and made a lot of comments or remarks that made it seem like we were inconveniencing her if we asked for another beer or more water. I've been here many times and seem to have the same experience each time. Atmosphere: good, typical sports bar. Service: good, my most recent server was great, I asked her for her opinion on a dish and I appreciated her honesty. Drink was always full. I feel like the food always falls a little short of my expectations. I usually get the chicken tenders and waffle fries. Love the waffle fries, they're always perfect, but the wing sauces are terrible! Always! They have even changed their sauce menu so I tried two new ones today. Disappointed yet again. The pineapple teriyaki was meh... somewhat bland for a wing sauce. The orange siracha was downright terrible. It was SO watered down and thin you couldn't even get enough on the chicken to taste much of the flavor. Tasted and looked a lot like orange-siracha-flavored water.... If you're looking for plain chicken strips and plain waffle fries, you will enjoy these for $10. I also had my waffle fries "smothered" for an extra $2 (in queso, bacon and chives) and while they were good, I wouldn't call them smothered, I could have used some more queso on them to make it worth $2 extra. So while it gets 3 stars for atmosphere and service, I have to take off 2 stars based on my consistent disappointment with some element of my food every time I come. read more

Pleasantly surprised with the drinks, food, and service here - especially the service. Couple beers, pretzel appetizer, and two sandwiches for about forty bucks wasn't a bad lunch time deal for the quality. Farm to Market bread everywhere on the menu - big thumbs up for this. We absolutely love this place! It's handicap accessible which is fantastic for my mother in law, the food is great, the drinks are good, and the bathrooms are fantastic. The fact that there are no gaps in the toilet stalls is enough to get 5 stars out of me, but the food & atmosphere are why we keep coming back. We went here for the Chiefs v Patriots playoff game and the atmosphere here made me fall back in love with the game. That game was particularly exciting, but I'm not one to bounce in my seat and loudly cheer. Yet at Brewbakers, I did. A guy got so excited he hoisted his chair above his head (he was so lucky that he didn't hit someone!). Strangers were hugging in excitement, the air was electric. I've been for happy hour and lunch and have been happy both times. The HH drink specials are pretty good including reasonable well and Boulevard beer pints. All appetizers are half-price during HH as well, and dining companions who ordered the loaded waffle fries were very pleased. Overall the food prices are a bit steep for what you get, but the food is tasty. Their daily specials make things a bit more reasonable. Wednesday's special is $6.99 chicken sandwiches and burgers are on special earlier in the week. I got the Bleu Chicken sandwich on my recent visit, and my dining companion got the Wrangler, which is bacon wrapped. Both were tasty. My one complaint was that the server did not tell me the veggies as a side were extra, even though upon learning the side salad cost extra, I'd ordered the veggies instead...other than that, the service was reasonably quick. This was a great first experience! The service was prompt and friendly; our waitress was super nice, quick with refills and came by often to check on us without being "annoying". Everything was tasty, from the fried pickles to the meatloaf burger to the chicken and bacon wrap... Don't forget to get the cinnamon roll bread pudding! No room? Take it to go! We all enjoyed our meal. Definitely a grill and bar scene, with the music turned up, yet at the time of day we came it wasn't so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. While I didn't count them, I'd guess they had over 25 different beers on tap with many of them craft brews. They have a nice outdoor patio with a beer garden. We decided to leave and I told an employee about what happened and their response was "oh, sorry." Didn't offer a manager or to remedy the situation. Called as I was walking out the door to talk to a manager and basically the same half-apology. I am a service manager at another concept and am just confused about the way y'all handle issues. I have been here twice now in the last month. The food is good and priced well. The beer selection is good. I've been seated and served very quickly and have not had any issues with the wait staff that others have mentioned. My main gripe about Brewbakers is WHY DOES THE MUSIC HAVE TO BE SO FREAKING LOUD?! I could seriously not hold a conversation with my wife who was sitting 3 feet across from me. To add to the noise there was a restaurant full of people yelling at each other so they could try and carry a conversation as well. I looked around me and I saw a bunch of families and groups of adults. What I did not see was a dance floor full of 19 year olds with neon sunglasses and glow sticks, chewing on pacifiers. But they appear to be the target audience for whoever controls the musical onslaught at Brewbakers. Honestly, if they would turn down the music a few decibels, this would be one of my preferred places to eat in the area. Me and a buddy were looking for a good place to watch the NFL playoffs and enjoy a few good craft beers - so we decided to check this place out. It definitely fits the bill as a sports bar, as by my rough estimate there are approximately 1 million TVs in there - so big positive there. The craft beer list is solid, and the food was quite good (especially the waffle fries!). My one complaint was some of the beer was priced a bit high, and prices aren't listed on the chalkboard. $9.50 for a 12 oz. pour of Odell Deconstruction is maybe a tad high. Being a respectful customer, I paid without complaint, but I will be asking and more aware of beer prices next time. Positives: -Good craft beer menu -TV's, TV's, and more TV's. Great place to watch a game, can't wait for the NCAA basketball tourney. -Solid bar/grill kind of food - the waffle fries are definitely a favorite. -Outdoor patio and bar. It was too cold to be in use yet, but this will be fun in the warmer months. Negatives: -Some high beer prices, I'd recommend asking before buying. Met a bunch of co-workers here for a HDHH (Hump Day Happy Hour) and had a good time despite the service. I was the first in our party to arrive and was promptly greeted and helped to pull together a couple of tables for our group. That was nice and the employee who helped me was very friendly. I was provided with a draught beer menu by our waitress a few minutes later. The menu, which was really quite extensive, was incredibly difficult to read. It was tiny black print on a dark red background in a relatively dark bar. Who thinks this is a good idea? I had to pull out my phone to light the beer menu in order to read it. Unfortunately, the beer menu was not up-to-date and our waitress didn't explain what was not on it up front which would have saved me about ten minutes of trying to make a decision, part of which was spent squinting and trying to read the small print. Arggh. Aside from that, the service was really slow. Reallllllly slow. There were several of us, but our waitress would bring out one or two drinks at a time. Does Brewbakers frown on trays? At one point, our waitress told one of the people in our party, "I'm new and I'm not very good at my job." Not sure why she offered up this tidbit, but it wasn't prompted by any sort of complaint as we were all just enjoying each other's company while ignoring the fairly crappy service. Brewbakers is really close to my work, so I would imagine that I will have occasion to return due to proximity. I read a couple of online articles on best brunch in KC that mentioned this place. It was a pretty typical brunch buffet. Prime rib, ham, french toast bar and made to order omelettes. The buffet had scrambled eggs, B&G, bacon, ya know, the usual. Most of the buffet line was cold despite us arriving at the midpoint of their buffet hours. My omelette arrived about 30 minutes after ordering. It was probably the best of all the offerings. Lesson learned, stick with the made to order items. $40 for 2 mediocre buffets, meh. If I brought teenage son, it would be worth it. They gave us 2 poker chips. If you collect 8 your 9th buffet is free. Ours are still sitting on the table if you want to pick them up. read more

I've been in here three times now and had mixed experiences. The menu has your average Applebees-esque options. There is a wrap (I think it's called buffalo chicken?) that is really good, and the fries are awesome. The quesadilla on the apps menu is good and large enough to order as an entree. Once I got a friendly, helpful, attentive server who we really enjoyed. Another time I had one who took three tries to get us beers because of menu changes not marked on the happy hour menu that she wasn't aware of, and then she ended up charging us full price for the fourth choice beer anyway. Upscale sports bar theme with lackluster service. My family and I have visited Brewbakers at least 3 times since its opening. I enjoy the decor and the beer selection -- and that's about it. Service is embarassing. My family and I are frequently left waiting at the door for a minute before even being acknowledged. At our last visit, four nights ago, we were left standing for over 2 minutes. Finally, I wandered around the restaurant and found a slew of waitstaff at the drink station eating chips and salsa, laughing loudly. They, of course, apologized; however, this experience reflects the general lack of focus on customer service I have had at this restaurant. The menu looks enticing. The food is hit-or-miss. My wife and I both ordered burgers at our last visit, hers was ordered medium rare, mine was medium. Both were served well done, dry and grey in the middle. The pickled onions on all the burgers need to be 86'd. They overwhelm any other flavors on the sandwich. I will grant Brewbakers this: they can make a great order of truffle-parmesian fries (which is the only reason we occasionally frequent this place). Brewbakers has great potential -- it's a great location, a well-appointed facility. Management needs spruce up service and attention to perfecting the menu in order to make this mediocre sports bar worthy of my hard-earned dollar. read more
