Had some most excellent hot wings here. Some of the best I've had in Lancaster for sure! I also decided I'd get some tater tots. The order was HUGE! And they were super hot and crispy. Nice neighborhood feel. The customers and staff were friendly. Has that 'classic corner bar' feel which can be fun. Very inexpensive esp compared to a lot of places in Lancaster. Was pretty busy at like 6P on a weeknight but cleared out a lot by 7P. Main thing to be sure you know is smoking is allowed and lots of people were smoking so if you can't tolerate that, this is definitely not the place for you. read more

Place is inaccessible with stairs leading the way to the front door. Steps also leading the way up to a seating section of the bar. This is also an establishment that allows indoor smoking, only realizing this once I sat down. (Having a lung disease, this is not ideal at all.) Waited 15+ minutes for the server to gather the checks from my friends and I and it wasn't busy whatsoever. I also ordered fried pickles that were soggy. read more

Best dive bar ever!!! Come in when Sean is working! He takes care of all his customers to the nine. My beer is always full and conversation with him is the best! Food is absolutely amazing. Bartender was pretty rude. It was my first time visiting, and she did seem overwhelmed. At first I just assumed she was stressed, but when she served me a room temperature PBR tallboy without telling me and apparently told the person next to me (a friend of hers) that there were "no cold ones" but neglected to ask me If I wanted something else I stopped giving her the benefit of the doubt. I was sitting at the bar less than 5' from where she pulled the beer from, it would have taken zero effort (in fact she put more effort into telling her friend she was serving me a room temp beer) to ask me if I wanted something else because the beer wasn't cold. Who knowingly serves someone a 24oz warm beer? Especially after she received a $3 tip in they first beer ($4 beer). She also looked at me like I was inconveniencing her when I asked her the price for the drinks (I bought one for someone next to me) so I had no idea of the total. Not sure what her deal was, but it certainly was not welcoming. She had plenty of time to talk to her friends, but couldn't be bothered to give a new customer even a modicum if customer service. read more

Ah my favorite pub in Lancaster. Not enough vegetarian fare, but the portobello sarnie is delish. Lots of good english/irish booze which is always welcomed. Often have good live music - good luck trying to find a seat on a fri/sat night - but worth the wait. Grab a drink, get saucy and lean somewhere. read more

The perfect eptitome of a nice dive bar. Yes, they exist! And I'm only calling Brendees a dive bar because it's slightly "off the beaten track" and serves up cheap food and drinks in a non pretentious environment. The whole bar has a very friendly mom and pop feel. It's very clean and well kept up, actually I believe from looking at their facebook page they just underwent some major renovations! The have great specials every night like 25 cent wings and $2.00 well drinks. They have entertainment some nights of the week and you are treated like an old friend upon entering and ordering. The menu is large and full of classic American bar food with some classic Irish delicacys and snacks thrown in the mix. Great place to just chill on any day of the week. My only complaint? that they had a REAL dart board instead of the electronic one...haha. read more

In the olden days, when I drank and smoked beyond reason and to excess, Brendees would have been my number one location to spend my life in, if only to welcome my own death, however, it's not the olden days anymore and I've grown up a bit, Brendee's is disgusting....soaked with the heavy stench of an Era long dead. With an atmosphere of an old Irish funeral parlor where the only reason to go was to say goodbye to your old drunken Irish sodden throughly smoked corpse of a friend.....today it offers a similar atmosphere. Must admit though, that late one evening I needed to make a phone call my car battery died. Went into Brandees and was treated cordially and welcomed even though I made it clear I was there only to use the phone not the bar..... the phone.......not drink and not smoke and certainly not socialize. I was undeniably welcome. Would not consider eating anything and did not consider staying after phone calls .....but after I went outside and was approached by 3 drug dealers within 15 minutes offering to sell the three most addictive and illegal poisons of the week, I found back in the bar for my protection and found solace freely offered. I waited till my friend picked me up. So yes, perhaps they are behind the times, but they are head of the times when it comes to courtesy. And there's a lot to be said for the olden times when I could drink my ass under the table. Maybe we all need reminders of the smoky old Lancaster hangouts of pre-politically correct Lancaster..... and maybe everyone needs a taste, or smell, of what Lancaster used to be like. So, I'll be very honest. Their wings are pretty good. However, it doesn't compensate for their negatives. They have horrible service. It will take over 45 minutes to get any food you order and good luck trying to get a server to take your drink order. Not only this, but you would think that they would appreciate their customers and treat them with respect, which is not the case. Not to mention their servers are INCREDIBLY rude and disrespectful. I say all of this in frustration of their service over several months. I have given them a chance time and time again and yet it is not worth it in the end. You will leave with your belly satisfied but incredibly irritated. There's a large bouncer with a shaved head and a long beard who confronts you when you walk in the door. I was a bit intimidated at first, but it turned out we were old buddies! The drinks are a bit more than I would like to pay, but it's a great place to meet loose women. Only drawback is there is no lock on the bathroom door, so if things get hot and heavy, you better be ready to let the world see what you're made of! read more

Look in the dictionary under "value" and you will likely see a picture of Brendee's. I went on 25 Cent wing night and was blown away at how good the wings were and how well they paired with the Bell's Oberon Ale (Yes I wrote Bell's out of Kalamazoo, MI). The bartender was very helpful by allowing small a small tasting (they do have 17 taps after all). So why only 4 stars? The taps leaned hoppy and perhaps I just missed the darker side of the pours. If you want to overpay for your drinks to be screwed up by rude bartenders then this is the place for you! The food is okay and they don't spill too much of your drink on purpose, but their real charm lies in their bartenders. If they don't screw up your drink, then they'll definitely be rude to you and pissy when you don't tip for a single shot that's been half spilt. Very cool dive bar, great beer selection at decent prices & not bad pub fare food too. Always an eclectic & diverse crowd of customers to keep the jukebox fresh and atmosphere fun. My only complaint is the smoking. This is one of the few bars left in Lancaster where customers can still smoke inside and the majority do. Combine that with the horrible ventilation and it can make for a very unpleasant experience. Easily a 4-star bar without the smoke. read more

Baffled by some of the reviews. I've had no complaints on service either from bartenders or wait staff. Always an interesting mix of people at the bar and wings always solid. If anything, parking can be a challenge but I always seem to luck out. read more

the bartender they had on April 4th 2021 gave me the first bad experience at brendees. before we left we asked for a last call pitcher. 5 minutes later the server comes back and takes the full pitcher away without saying anything. But it was full we had not touched it. We payed for it and he just walked away with it mumbling your done. How exactly do you just take away a pitcher that someone had already payed for because it's last call? That's not how that works. Very dissapointed. read more

For what it is, a hole-in-the-wall, divey Irish pub, Brendee's is pretty good. One thing to mention right off the bat: it's a smoking-friendly establishment, and there's a sign announcing so on the door (for those who like to claim they didn't know before entering) and the place is super smoky. But if you can deal with that it's not a big deal. The food is good, pretty basic bar food with a little Irish kick and also very affordable. Their Thursday night MTO burger and fries for 2.99$ is pretty hard to beat, and the wings are good too. This place certainly won't knock your socks off but the people are friendly and courteous and it's a decent atmosphere, so why not give it a shot. read more

Been going to Brendee's for years on Tuesdays, its normally what you would expect for wings and good priced beer in a smoking bar. However, the last few months a sewer smell has been getting worse and worse in the back dining area. Definitely has a cracked sewer line between the building and the street somewhere. I accept the smoke, I can't accept the sewage smell and I am not the only one with this opinion. GET IT FIXED. read more

If you want bad service and an atmosphere with cig smoke, this is the place to go. I went here to get just wings and a couple beers and I was here for over an hour. There was only one waitress and at some times it seemed that we were invisible to her. The waitress would rarely check on us for refills on drinks or sauce. This was inconvenient because we all ordered wings and we were in need of napkins and more bleu cheese. Also, just our wings alone took 45 minutes to come out after we ordered.
