Stopped by Breakfast Republic over Labor Day weekend and had the absolute pleasure of sitting at the bar where Elizabeth was bartending -- and WOW. Even with the holiday rush and a full bar, she was calm, cool, and totally on point. Elizabeth somehow knew exactly what we needed before we even finished deciding -- from food to drinks, she absolutely nailed it. The menu is packed with amazing choices (seriously, how do you even begin to choose?), but she made some casual recommendations that turned out to be spot on. Also, can we talk about her lattes? Smooth, perfectly balanced, and just what we needed to kickstart the day. You can tell she really takes pride in her craft -- and it shows. Thanks for the stellar service, Elizabeth! Husband & I came in around 10:30 am & were seated immediately. Sat inside. Its slightly loud due to cement floor & hard surfaces, but there is an option to sit outside. began with the big boozy brew shots. So delish! I think id come back again just for this. espresso vodka, espresso shot & irish cream topped with whipped cream. I ordered the shrimp & grits & a spicy bloody mary. Perfect together. The shrimp & grits were so so so good! the grits were creamy and the gouda cheese gave a wonderful flavor. Shrimp was perfectly cooked and there were plenty of them. The spicy bloody mary is spicy for sure so be aware, but for me, its the best bloody mary around!!! My husband had the grilled turkey sandwich. Unfortunately this was a bust. The sourdough bread was totally soggy & falling apart. Could not be picked up to be eaten, had to use a knife & fork. The turkey slices were large but lacked flavor. The bacon had great flavor but was limp and soggy too. cheddar cheese was slimy, tomato & avocado were fine. My guess is the garlic aioli was too much for the bread. If I were to order this sandwich again, I would get the aioli on the side. French fries were well fried but over salted. My husband only ate some of half of the sandwich & some of the fries. We brought the rest of the sandwich home for our dog-he approved- -2 paws up :) Husband had the michelada & said it was good-spicy but not overly so. What I know made the meal was our service!! Liz, who is the bartender, was our server. She was so personable & delightful. You can really tell she loves interacting with her customers. I was really disappointed in this location. I talked up this brand to my friend because I had been to another location and loved the food and staff. We went here this past Monday around 9am and there were maybe 3 tables with people, 1 guy at the bar and 3 staff members. It took them 5 mins to seat us. The guy behind the bar who ended up being our server saw us and another guy saw us and no one greeted us or told us someone would be right with us. So we waited. We were finally seated and after a long wait we were finally greeted by our server with glasses of water. We waited long enough to decide what we would eat from their unique menu, look around the restaurant and admire the paintings and then stare at each other for a few minutes. Our server took our order and food came out in a timely manner. Everything looked good except my daughters fruit plate which looked more like a side fruit plate. To add to insult to injury the fruit plate they gave consisted of figs, old/bruised pears, apples, blueberries and cantaloupe. What kid eats that stuff? And why would you put old fruit on the plate? We asked to take it back and requested a toasted english muffin instead. This place has been so disappointing the last couple of times I've been here. The last time I was here my Avocado Toast tasted so bland and had almost no avocado on it, and was falling apart before I could even pick it up. That was the only real time I was disappointed, but this time was even worse. Everything was either significantly overseasoned or underseasoned. There was not 1, not 2, but 4 pieces of black hair in our food. The Jurassic Pork tasted awful, and usually it's my favorite thing about this restaurant. The only good thing were the potatoes. I was so disappointed with this experience, I used to really love coming to Breakfast Republic but it's definitely gotten worse within the last year or so. Jose at the Encinitas CA location was amazing with his customer service. We had a large group on a Sunday morning. The room they typically use for large groups already had one party in there and it was very loud. He made an exception and put tables together in the main area to accommodate us. Walked up to the restaurant and was greeted with a warm welcome. Got there around 9:00, and it was pretty busy. There was open seating but my group of friends and I decided to try the new private dining room. It was pretty cool! There is a LOT of room. Went back to Breakfast Republic to meet my friend again. Got there first thing, quickly got to our table and Chloe our server was very prompt and friendly. I had a nice omelette with Jurassic ham and Jack cheese, very tasty. The potatoes and toast were pretty good too. Coffee was hot and strong and plenty of it. The welcoming experience from the server was not welcoming at all. He was vey sluggish, seemed like he just was there to be there. The food was not appetizing at all. The rice was very mushy the beans were still hard not cooked all the way. The sauce used for the chilaquiles had no flavor very bland. The burrito my husband ordered in his own words " I have tasted better from a drive thru." The only thing I enjoyed was my guava mimosa. It's a bummer cause I was really looking forward to Breakfast Republic do to high expectations from previous experiences. read more

Quality of Food & Service : My grandparents are vegans and are not able to have much oil either and the staff & chef were very accommodating. They ordered Lemon Zest Pancakes and the vegan veggie & pesto frittata. They were very happy with their meal and the service too. I ordered the Traditional Eggs Benedict. The egg was perfectly cooked and the potatoes were crispy too. The hot sauce & katsup were nice touches to our meal. This was our first time there. It was the best of times, and the worst of times! The place has such a great ambiance - decor is lovely, bar is well appointed, a great overall vibe. We got sat relatively quickly (2 of us) and were greeted and ordered in a timely fashion. they have a great range of brunch drinks and their classic bloody mary is delicious. It tastes fresh and homemade just as they claim! However, the wait for our food was well over 40 minutes and this killed the good vibe. To the credit of the waiter, he was kind and honest with us about the big delay. Turns out head kitchen chef quit and they were scrambling. He saw we weren't happy and comped us two bloody Mary's while we waited. He also apologized several times. Sadly after that long wait, the food was meh. My eggs and potatoes were overcooked and the toast was more like warm bread. Not sure if this is due to kitchen staff issue... The response from waiter and free drinks to try and make it right makes all the difference however. And this is why I will go there again in good hopes that our experience was just an exception because of being short-staffed. read more

My friend and I came here for brunch on a Saturday morning. They were pretty busy when we arrived, but we were able to get a table right away surprisingly! Food: Avocado Toast - This was delicious, and I really enjoyed the pomegranate seeds on the toast. It added nice pops of sweetness. Pancake Sampler - My friend and I got this to share with the buttermilk, strawberries & cream, and the cinnamon roll pancake. All of the pancakes were pretty good, but can be sweet if that isn't your thing. My friend and I also got the mango mimosas. The mimosa was delicious, and I love the tajin on the rim. Service: Our server was friendly, but often not around as they were pretty busy. It did take some time for our orders to be taken. The food took some time to come out as well. This makes sense given how busy they were. Not great if you're in a rush, but not bad if you're enjoying a leisurely weekend brunch. TL;DR - Jeopardize your ability to buy a home and get the avocado toast. Service can be slow especially if they're busy and expect them to be busy. read more

Food was good, the only negative was the eggs on the eggs Benedict were cold. The hollandaise was room temperature and could have been used to heat up the eggs. The Jurassic pork was a great add to the Bloody Mary and the Benedict. Pancakes were good, not enough syrup, but they brought a dab more when requested. Potato upgrade to add balsamic Brussels, cheese and Jurassic pork was an excellent choice. We will be back! read more

Cute place to grab food with friends for the family type of a place. We came here during breakfast hour and it was packed. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor can be chilly if the wind is blowing and pets are not allowed indoor. It does get crowded on the weekends so be prepared to wait to get a table, order, get your food and the check. Breakfast burritos was tasty but bland and average tasting. They did not have any green sauce but it did come with a red sauce- added flavor and not spicy at all. I did like how they toast the burrito. They are known for the Jurassic pork which isn't mentioned much in the reviews. Similar to bacon but chewy like beef jerky and of course flavorful. I came in with my mom and daughter before running errands but that was soon cancelled. --------------------- tl:dr I ordered a BYOO and the chef messed up my order causing me to go into anaphylactic shock. --------------------- After ordering, a couple items were made incorrectly and then I was made aware they no longer had yams for my daughter. Not a big deal. The big deal was I ordered a BYOO and my order was pretty simple (Cheese, spinach, steak, and ricotta). The chef made an executive decision to add Onion to my omelette, I am allergic to onion. I didn't expect Onion as neither I nor my waitress included it in the order. I purposefully ordered the BYO because of my onion allergy and ensured it had no onions. I ended up having a pretty nasty allergic reaction in the restaurant. The worse I have ever experienced. The manager and my waitress alongside a few concerned employees insured my safe transport to a hospital and provided me a discreet area to sit, sip water, and try to push through until help/an ambulance arrived. One thing I did not appreciate finding out is the DM tried to insinuate it was my fault because I did not say I had an allergy, when once again there was no mention of my allergy due to NOT ordering a single thing that contained Onion. You wouldn't order a milkshake and say no coffee because you're allergic to coffee beans. No one would expect coffee in a shake if it wasn't a coffee shake just like I did not expect onion in my supposedly Onionless omelette. Mind you I was hospitalized with ONE bite because not only were there Onions, they were raw, meaning a lot more concentrated than if they were cooked. I was in the hospital for hours due to a chef's misguided process, hooked up to IVs, machines monitoring my heart, given multiple doses of medication, and under supervision in case of a reflare, which did occur but was able to be managed with more medication. I am still itchy from this whole ordeal but luckily I am breathing. I hope a valuable lesson was learned by the chef to simply follow what is written and not include anything unwritten as it is truly life or death. I don't eat Onions and always mention my allergy when I know it is included. Today it was not included but still ended up in my food somehow. Extremely scarring event. I am still giving stars due to the effort of the employees and manager, the efficient care they supplied me with while help was on the way, and the grace the manager had when dealing with a high stress ordeal. The food itself, sans the omelette was good, I do love their sourdough, butter, and prosecco mimosas. I can't necessarily say I will be back to this location after experiencing this unfortunately. From the pictures you can clearly see NONE of this was anticipated at all. I will be waiting to hear from their HR/Legal team and/or DM soon. read more

First time being here! We came on 8/28/22 around 12:30pm. I'm sure parking can be a struggle but we found a spot easily close to the NFCU ATM. We put our name on the list & they said it would be 20 minutes. They have a little patio set that are egg shaped. They called our name and I was surprised, it was not 20 minutes. We sat by the fake foliage wall which was nice. I like the inside since it's well lit. The menu isn't bad and if you didn't want to touch the menu, the QR code for the menu was on the table. We ended up ordering 2 champagnes with lychee puree, 2 breakfast jambalayas, Portuguese longuinisa scramble which came with house potatoes, toast, egg, & a pancake trio - oreo, pineapple upside down, & lemon coconut flavors. Everything was delicious. The jambalaya was super good. The dish is well seasoned and balanced. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. The oreo pancake was good and the girls said the pineapple upside down pancake was okay. I think maybe they thought pineapple would be inside the pancake but the pineapple was just on top so there wasn't a lot of flavor. And the lemon coconut pancake was good. The breakfast scramble was delicious. The eggs were fluffy and the sausage was really good. The dish was also colorful which made it look appetizing. Our server was cool & checked in on us. Melinda has to be the nicest hostess I've ever met, and the kitchen gets the food out quick and delicious. I can't believe how awesome the food was. They're a chain and this particular location is in a strip mall so it doesn't have as much outdoor ambiance as some of the others but service and food were just as good nonetheless. The menu is very southern with plenty of egg-based dishes, sweet breakfast fare and a vegan section. We like to each order a savory dish and then share an order of the Strawberry Cheesecake Pancakes. If you don't order a sweet dish as your main I suggest you at least share one because I feel that they execute those the best. On this particular visit I had the Crab and Crawfish Cake Benedict and it was packed with the crustaceans, no filler. If you're looking for an alcoholic beverage with your breakfast this is the perfect place to come. I love this place!! Been coming here for years, I can't believe I haven't reviewed them yet. Anyways, we came in today to celebrate Veterans Day, I wanted to treat my partner. Thank you to all the veterans who've served! I got the iced chai which was pretty good, it was a little bit milky tasting but I still enjoyed it. I also ordered the chilaquiles plate and omg...it's a must try! I loved everything about it, chips could have been a little more crunchy though. My partner ordered the Cajun jambalaya and it came with 2 eggs your way. It also had some pretty big shrimp in it which was really nice to see and enjoy. We both shared the French toast sampler. We chose the strawberry marscapone toast, the banana split, and the s'mores French toast. All were so delicious! My favorite was the banana split and I think it was my partners favorite too. Solid 4 stars place! Food is good, service is good. Cool cups. Came here for brunch with some friends one day and ordered a few dishes to share. The wait was a bit long perhaps this place is a local favorite and rather popular. We ordered a few different items to share. The Benedict was pretty good, large portions and the sauce was on point. The eggs with hash was mediocre, we asked for egg over easy and the yolk was broken when we got it. One of my pet peeves when they can't get the yolk correct. Bloody Mary was ok. Service was nice and friendly. The mugs and glasses were very cool and funny. Entertaining while you wait for your food. Overall a good experience. Definitely ask the servers for recommendations on the food, some are good, some are not. read more
