Tik tok got me here and I'm really glad I tried it. We had a quick trip to Dallas and wanted breakfast before we started our journey. Now we only had one dish since we had a day of eating ahead of us but the dish we got made us upset we couldn't order more! We got the red velvet waffles and wings and a side order of catfish. Some people said this catfish was the one. Your right. It was seasoned to my liking and definitely had that crunch. The waffle was a little too sweet for me but not bad at all. The wings were crispy and good too! Come early bc we got there right around opening and the ppl were lining up. This place is a great way to start your day for breakfast or lunch.

Great food, great service, great music, cute restaurant, clean. Family friendly. Mimosas. Food is bomb. This WILL be my new go-to breakfast spot. 10 stars. The only prob I can see is if you come at the wrong time you might have to wait- but it's worth the wait. Pancakes were recommended and that are good. Anything fried was delicious. We got it all.

A highly recommended breakfast spot. We got there before it became too busy and was seated immediately. Drink order was taken immediately and was given a reasonable amount of time to view the menu. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of grits. My date ordered the red velvet waffles and chicken. I must say the chicken and the grits were well seasoned and flavorful. The waffles were okay. The orders came out slower than expected. The restaurant is small and tables are close but the service was great. We went on a Sunday so the music was gospel and wasn't blaring. I would give it another try.

Stopped by Breakfast Brothers in Dallas for a weekend brunch and tried their steak and eggs. Even though the steak came out medium-well instead of medium, it was still surprisingly flavorful and tender. You can tell they season it with care, and it paired perfectly with the eggs. The service was on the leisurely side, but the team was friendly, and the relaxed pace actually fit the vibe of the place. It's a smaller restaurant, which gives it a cozy, neighborhood feel rather than a big, rushed breakfast spot.

Now let me warn you, join the wait list. Let me say it again, check and join the wait list before you go!! I checked the wait list before we left the house and it was a 70-85 min wait. So I joined it because it was going to take us almost an hour to get there. When we arrived at almost 60 min later, I checked in with front desk person, and went to wait in car. We waited about 5 more minutes and were seated. Perfect timing!! Inside is not that big so I can see why there's a wait... very popular on a Sunday afternoon. We reviewed menu and placed our orders. We had waffles, pancakes, chicken, fish, and pork chops. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Hopefully we make it back one day since it was our first visit but quite a drive for us.

I've made this my after church spot. I love it here real bad! I came here for a bday brunch and the staff sang happy birthday to me in the nicest way, & my favorite server handed me a surprise treat. :) such a family vibe restaurant & I am obsessed. This time I got the pancakes & 10000/10. Now idk if I like the French toast better or the pancakes! Either way that chicken.....gone do it every timmme

The dinning experience at this cute quaint family friendly restaurant was cool. Food 10/10 Mango Tea 10/10 Salmon bites, scrambled soft eggs with spinach mixed & breakfast potatoes 10/10 Only thing would tell you is to be prepared to be a people person as you may be sitting next to a complete stranger(s) while dining. The couple next to us was cool Check your ticket as it's easy for the server to mix up the tabs due to the seating situation.

Good day everyone. Hope you've atleast taken a peak through the blinds, if not venturing outside. The weather is gorgeous. Have been reading reviews on this spot for a minute. Decided today is the day I let the top down, point the nose east to Duncanvilles historic Redbird area. Got here and there's a 45 minute wait to be seated with the sharesies option. I agreed to share a table though I would rather not, but it's a new experience so why not. I'll let you know how it pans out. Seating took a little longer, but this space, this is such a great theme. The music, neosoul, vibing out. This spot is soothing, relaxing, even before the order. The service is on point even before a sip of coffee. And the coffee, deep roast, hits even after two french vanilla creamers. Bold brewed. I'm good already. This place will certainly grow to my area in time. I sure hope so. Lil snafu. I'm pretty sure I overheard a server tell another I was Yelping. Not sure, but my order came out before the table to my right. I asked if they were cool with it. I picked up their ticket. Nice young couple. Did notice they got skipped but I smoothed it out. The frech toast is extra, extra, extra good. The chicken wings though. Perfectly seasoned. Not too salty. Steamy hot inside, juicy, with the perfect crunch outside. All in all this was a door-to-door 5 star experience. I was expecting it to be less than given some places phone it in once the blow up. This place seems to consider every day opening day. Take care of yourselves. Get out and meet someone new today, or go somewhere new. Peace.

From the time we arrived to the time we left, was a 3.5 hour time frame, that is entirely tooooo long if you ask me. I get the restaurant is small and they handle to go orders which probably makes their kitchen backed up but still. The food was good and the service was A+ but due to the wait if I'm ever in south Dallas again I'll be doing to go only and have expectations that it'll take a long time. I saw to go orders being ready before restaurant tables food

Encountered the food truck at the Tall Girl pop up shop in Arlington a few weeks ago. My mouth is still watering for the crispy catfish and crispy red velvet waffles. It was nice to share some wings as well with my ladies. The lady at the truck was helpful and pleas

I dropped into this spot this morning randomly after looking on a map to see what was close to me. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything inside is super cute and this is a soul food spot for sure. My server was friendly and attentive. Sometimes when you're a solo eater you get shoved in a corner and ignored but that was not the case here. I ended up ordering the red velvet waffles with fried catfish. I'm not a huge waffle fan but i saw red velvet and i had to. I doing eat much cat fish but i just wanted to swing for the fence with things i don't normally go for. The waffle was soft and fluffy. The squeeze of lemon was perfect and i didnt need butter or syrup. I wish it had more sliced strawberries on it- it only came with half a strawberry in the middle. The cat fish was hot, fresh and seasoned well. I topped it with Louisiana hot sauce that they had sitting on the side of the table ready for use. It was allll delish. If you are in the area, this is a must stop. Now, don't come if you're in a hurry. This is a slow soul food experience and worth the wait.

First of all, the Bishop Arts District itself is incredibly charming. Block after block of unique shops ranging from bookstores and bakeries to candle shops, candy stores, coffee spots, and little boutiques. It's exactly the kind of neighborhood I loveeeee exploring while traveling and if I lived in Dallas, I'd probably frequent this area often. As for The Wild Detectives, the concept alone immediately appealed to me...bookstore meets cafe meets bar meets restaurant. That combination will pretty much always grab my attention. I love to read, I love to eat. The space has a pretty relaxed, community oriented vibe, and during my Saturday morning/early afternoon visit, there were plenty of people working, reading, chatting, and hanging out both inside and on the patio. My one slight disappointment was that the bookstore side itself was smaller than I expected and didn't have quite as extensive a selection as I had imagined. That said, I still managed to leave with a few great additions for my ever growing TBR pile. Overall, this was a worthwhile stop and one I may revisit the next time I'm in Dallas.

We gathered at 7pm and I don't know if my hostess told them to wait but it was an hour before we ordered food but the food came out rather quickly. I was told the roast was cooked in a Mississippi pot roast style, however besides seeing the pepperoncini, I wouldn't have known. The mashed potatoes lacked seasoning and it all felt a little greasy to me (too much butter which I never thought I would EVER say!). The staff were really nice and accommodating.
