I made the mistake of coming here without shopping around first because yelp usually never fails me. I came in here to get two things done. First was to buy a double din head unit from them and have it installed, and second to get a remote start kit I purchased myself installed. To purchase the double din radio and have it installed they charged $430. If I bought the unit myself and did the install it would have cost me like $200. This tells me that the markup here is really high or they charge way too much for labor. For the remote start kit, They wanted $250. I agreed since I was already there anyway but then they called and said they would have to charge an additional $100 for a relay to bypass the anti theft deterrent. What kind of relay costs $100? So I told them not to do it, got my car and got out. I got a quote the same day from Stereo One, and they said they could do the install for $100. Even if they charged me $50 for an unforeseeable relay, $150 (the going rate for an alarm with remote start install) is far cheaper than the $350 breakers was trying to charge me and that is about the price I paid for the last remote start I had installed on my previous car. So price aside, why am I giving them just one star instead of two? Well, there was a snafu during my radio install. I had specifically asked for a double din head unit, and the first time around they installed a single din unit. When the manager questioned the employee about how the mistake happened, rather than owning up to it he tried to throw me under the bus and put the blame on me instead. NOT COOL. Bottom line: if I could do it again, I would buy the headunit myself and shop around for the best price from reputable shops around the county. read more

After my car was stolen, I decided to make my new one 100% theft proof by getting not one, but two kill switches installed (thieves have kept up with technology so don't think your alarm or chipped key will protect you, but 2 kill switches will). Wow! What an experience! I've heard of friends going to Breakers for many, MANY years but this was my first time working with them directly and I was blown away! I had a Joying 10.1" stereo installed on my Toyota Tacoma. Add ons such as steering wheel control retention were $100+ ended up basically paying $290 for "2 hours of work". Got my truck back and all the plastic trim hadn't been put back in place. Had a friend fix my steering wheel controls on the side for much cheaper. I came here got recommended by a friend my stereo wouldn't work it turned on when It wanted to and turn off when it wanted to , so I go in I asked them what they can do for me.They suggested to get a diagnostic it will cost $60 something dollars and whatever it is they can fix it they said it was the harness wiring was done wrong the tech guy rocky said he switch the wires to fix the problem after that called me to pick up my car So I asked if they can put a TR switch in because my Bluetooth wouldn't connect to my car correctly overall the next day I drove the car around My stereo still wouldn't work I told him they told me the day after come back next morning I wake up to take back my car wouldn't turn on , had several mechanics on the car to check it to make sure it wasn't a mechanic problem it wasn't car was perfect so I took it to the Chevy dealership find out the clip was broken a glued inside janky job first of all An it's a blown relay and a electrician to the exam computer in the car I called him up let them know they said they didn't mess anything up kept calling play cat an mouse with me saying they will call me back send off field technician I would have to pay for their time and everything else if it was therefore didn't want to help me out now I have to pay $1200 at Chevy to get a new ecm computer labor An An new relay fused An new wires GREAT NAME BREAKERS THEY BREAK YOUR STUFF ! 0 Stars read more

They keep your money when you don't want service. Because they don't know what to do when they screwed up my father's car they charge him 300 for a stereo that he cannot use. If you're supposed to put in 3 cigarette lighter station and they charge $160 for a $15 and sent it was used to give his money back my father's just so you people know their state license has been suspended several times they do not have to operate and you're not supposed to have wires hanging onto the floor they hired does not I don't think anyone know or have the proper training I would give him no charge but you have to put something and public relations is when you sit there and falsify God that people love you no they don't like your business when you're going to rip them up I recommend that people go to a different Corporation appreciate the business read more

Best stereo shop in Oxnard and probably in the county. I first came here to buy a part for a diy stereo installation after Fry's ripped me off on a kit that was supposed to fit my car but didn't. A few months later I came to get my windows tinted and they came out great, no bubbles or streaks anywhere. I recently had new speakers installed and they again did not disappoint. UPDATE 2/06/19 My car was tinted over a year ago, and the tints still look brand new!! I've never seen tints last this long without them starting to bubble up or turn purple. I'm very impressed with the quality of the tints they used and the work they did. I got a lot for what I paid. The speakers are also almost a year old and I haven't had a single problem with them at all. I will continue to bring vehicles here as needed. Aftermarket stereo shops have a bad rap because some of them will rip you off and/or cut corners on their work. This shop isn't like that at all. read more

I had my windows tinted in my car by Breaker's stereo in 2005. I have a lifetime warranty on the tint. I lost the receipt but called them anyway. They still had my information in the computer! I made an appointment and was taken care of immediately. It took some time to remove tint and re-tint. I waited in their waiting room. They have wi-fi for their customers and they have Net Flix. It is a very clean waiting room and I found the experience hassle free. I will come back again. Their staff is so friendly. read more

This place is a joke!! I wanted to give them business but not with the price I was quoted for a leveling kit for my truck. The guy told me $179 for the part and the job takes 4-5 hours!! I'm sure I can install a leveling kit in less than 2 hours. I was quoted $750 for a 1.5 inch leveling kit that doesn't even include shocks. They wonder why they keep having bad reviews and how can anyone support local businesses if they continue to price gouge? They must think people are stupid just to agree with the price. read more
