This is the cutest little place. Looks smaller than it is. Service was great. You wait in a line to order, then find a seat. I even witnessed these lady's kicking out a local because he was being rude. There is nothing better than seeing women stick up for what they feel. 11/10. The food was alright. We stumbled upon this place while on a hike nearby. It is a really cute cafe right next to the beach and has both indoors + outdoor seatings so if you can withstand the cold, definitely sit outside and enjoy the view. We got there on a July 4th afternoon and it was packed. Street parking only so be ware to struggle a bit lol. The way it works is that you'd order at the register and you can sit anywhere and they'll deliver the food to you. Service was pretty efficient and friendly. Food: 7/10. Menu is pretty big and servings here are huge. Tuna salad - Pretty basic so can't go wrong with this dish. Salad is really fresh so it was crispy and crunchy. Generous serving of tuna so there really wasn't any need for dressing on the side. On their menu, it said albacore tuna but I'm pretty sure it was canned tuna lol. Some pieces weren't broken apart fully so there were chunks and pretty obvious it was tuna straight from the can. Crab omelette - Again, serving size was BIG. Generous pieces of crabs in the omelette, yummm. Hollandaise sauce was served on the side and it was delicious to have it with hash brown, which was cooked to perfection. Pretty standard breakfast faire, diner style. We felt it was expensive for what you got. We had huevos rancheros, check Caesar salad and chicken and waffle. The Caesar was not great... chopped up romaine with some bottled dressing. The huevos ranchero was good,but needed hot sauce to spice it up. The chicken and waffle was only so so. I'm really hoping to return to this spot and update my review with a higher rating in the future because I chalk this up to just not ordering the best thing. I was excited to see Joe's Special under the omelettes/frittatas/scrambles section because it's always been my favorite thing to order at Los Gatos Cafe. Of course I had to get it in and in scramble form, but when it comes to taste I can't say it even came close to LG Cafe quality. The parmesan cheese was very salty for my personal preference and the eggs were rubbery and overcooked. The hash browns weren't done my favorite way but they were not bad. Can't say I would recommend this menu item but will say that some of the other featured items looked more promising. read more

Breakers is a local breakfast/brunch place of mine. Their food is solid (I've never had a bad dish) and the service is consistent. I've dined in and ordered takeout on multiple occasions. My favorites here are their smoothies, club sandwich with tots and egg white veggie omelette with extra crispy hash browns. They've recently started serving mimosas and beer as well. My wife and I each had a version of eggs Benedict (a typical favorite), but these both were drenched so bad in generic hollandaise sauce that you couldn't hardly get to the food. Just gross. This review of Breakers is fairly overdue. We're talking over 2 months old. Let's hope the experience you get by then will match with the one I had back in December. Pacifica is a place I would visit every now and then. It's got some nice sights, nice coastlines, and a great surfing community. Being a coastal city, it is bound to have some occasional tourist traps. Proper research is necessary to avoid paying for something overpriced and overrated. My friends and I finished up a grueling morning hike by Mori Point, so we were in the brunch mood. I saw a bunch of food places, but they seemed too tourist-trappy. Breakers initially appeared that way to me, but I thought, "Perhaps I could let go of my general perceptions of dining in Pacifica and give this place a chance." We went in and were greeted by a friendly staff. It was a relaxing Tuesday afternoon, so we could sit wherever we liked. We sat away from the windows and in a more tucked-in spot. I got myself the Crab Cake Benedict ($20) and the Blue Crush ($8). I requested my eggs to be runny. One of my friends ordered the Meaty Omelet ($15.50). Crab Cake Benedict (5/5) Surprising to find out there are actual dunguness crabs in the crab cakes! The poached eggs were perfectly runny and the salty capirs combined with hollandaise sauce made for a delightful bite. The hash browns were crispy and plentiful. I can see why this is considered a very popular item. Blue Crush (4/5) - There are actual blueberries in this, which is shocking to me. Sweet, acidic, tart. A great complement to my meal. Meaty Omelet (5/5) - How can one diner make an omelet so heavenly and divine? What I love most about the omelet outside of its hefty portion size is its rich flavor. It is so easy to dry out an omelet, and it is also easy for the other ingredients to outshine the omelet. Neither is true for this meaty omelet where the eggs are prepared superbly and the ingredients work to highlight the eggs. Additional notes: Food came by fast. You pay after placing your order. Our waiters in particular checked in on us constantly to make sure we're enjoying our food. Breakers is THE place to get delicious breakfast and brunch in Pacifica. Sometimes the outdoor tables take a while to get cleaned but this may be a function of staff availability because they do get quite busy. Parking is plentiful and dogs are welcomed in the patio area. Cutest little restaurant with the best views and stores near by! The owner Steve is the sweetest guy who you know is very passionate about his work and his restaurant. First this place is located in the cutest little nook of Pacifica with the best views. You order at the counter and then you get a cone with a number on it! Our wait time to get the good was a little long which they noticed so they brought us a fruit cup to hold us over. It was super nice of them and also very attentive. The food was definitely worth the wait and amazing! I had the crab omelette. The omelette was stacked with big chunks of crab meat inside and served with a side of the creamiest hollandaise sauce. My friend and I also split the banana macadamia coconut pancake which is probably the best pancake I've ever had hands down. It is so fluffy filled with chunks of macadamia nuts and fresh bananas. Only gripe was my wife asked for a well-done burger but got a medium-well and we had to ask a couple of times for an update on where the remake was. She felt rushed since everyone was finished with their meals by the time she got her burger back. Definitely buzzin for a weekend, only got super busy after 12pm on a Sunday. What a great find. Little did we know that there would be the best cafe around right across the street from our motel. Like magic we came down the hill to turn left into our driveway, and on the right was the cafe, and we were both hungry. So we parked the car came back before checking in, and got ourselves a seat in the curbside outdoor seating area and ordered our breakfast. I ordered the Joe's Special. It's ground beef, spinach, mushrooms, onions, parmesan cheese, and cream cheese. Then it's folded into an omelet. What a great breakfast and it's huge portions. It came with plenty of toast period of course. We had to wash it down with some good coffee and they had plenty of jams in those little packets to spread on the 4 slices of toast that we got. My wife on the other hand decided to have the Basic Breakfast which is bacon eggs and the usual but also with the macadamia nut banana and coconut pancake, which blew her socks away. I tried it to and it was pretty dang good. They were good portions so we had plenty to take back to our room with us for later and we did we enjoyed it twice. I would recommend this place any time for somebody that's on the road or living in the area. And it does seem to be a local favorite to hang out at. You order at the counter and the food is brought to you, they are still short-staffed and unfortunately are still using takeout containers and utensils even for dine in. I guess the only benefit is you don't have to waste time asking for boxes if you don't finish your meal. All of our meals the hasbrowns were a little undercooked and not crispy but still tasted fine and seasoned well. Chorizo & Avocado Omelets: Chorizo, avocado underneath, green chilies, onions, and a side salsa. Big portions, could only finish half. Tasted great. It tasted like a mayonnaise based fake and real crab mix that wasn't that great. The pani bread wad chewy and the Jack cheese wasn't melted enough. The pancake was just okay, but the standard hashbrowns were decent and so was the bacon. The fries sucked and were not fried all the way through, though they were hot. They had a lukewarm inside and could definitely be crisper. The salad was the star of the show, but how can you really go wrong with salad? This is a quirky joint. Feels homey, the owner/ manager hangs out and chats you up, and he's got a Sopranos meets Cheers vibe. Casual diner atmosphere, lots of choices to choose from. I don't like french fries, so I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed their crunchy, " real" tasting fries. One thing I didn't like is the process in place to order. It's a logical process, but I thought we'd be approached since we stood there, clearly w an unsure expression on our faces, but the staff just glanced our way, and continued chatting in the back. Customer service could have been bumped up a notch if only the servers/cashier acknowledged us and asked if we had questions. Just woulda been nice.
