The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great outside and not cold. I was happy with the bacon cheese burger , add avocado and a fried egg and French fries were crisp and delicious. The waitress was nice and brought a bowl of water out for our dog. I ordered a soda and was only able to enjoy one glass and usually I'm a 1 glass before , during , and after meal kind of person, so service was in this aspect slow. We had a great brunch here! The menu is huge, lots of options for everyone. Portions are large. Staff were friendly. You order at the counter and then staff bring your food to you. Restaurant sort of had the vibe of a favorite book. Somethings needed minor repair. However, you can tell it's loved by the customers and employees. Several customers were on a first name basis with staff. They are very organized and the food came out quick. We had the chocolate chip pancake, which was as delicious as it sounds. I am trying to be tactful with my feedback and finding it difficult cause I feel so confused by most of the good reviews. This is literally just a run down diner on the side of the road they have tried to expand in a really poorly executed fashion. The "patio" is literal orange construction barriers in the road dressed up with worn fake greenery and plants. There is additional out door dining that lines a parking garage entry and massive plastic curtains (like you would see in a warehouse) to a kitchen area. The whole place is extremely trashy with mismatched chairs and literal tackle boxes with condiments and Cutlery on the tables. The food was also real bad. Flavorless hash browns, smothered Benedict in subpar hollandaise and soggy biscuits. Its was also $65!!!!!!!! Plus there is no service. Its counter order with delivery. Truly awful. read more

My friend and I split a basic burger and a bowl of clam chowder, and my friend and her boyfriend split hash browns and a cup of clam chowder. The cup honestly could've sufficed for us, it was only a 4 oz difference. I wasn't a big fan of it, it could've been fresher and had more clam/seafood in it. The basic burger was pretty good and the ingredients were fresh, though. The fries were well-battered and I let all my friends have it because I was already so full after finishing my burger. Rather than taking accountability for his employee's behavior or showing genuine concern for how we were treated, he seemed more interested in defending the situation. My wife explained that my brother had recently passed away and that we had come in hoping to relax and get our minds off things for a little while during a difficult time. While the owner did offer an apology, it felt insincere and lacked genuine empathy. We weren't looking for special treatment--just basic courtesy, professionalism, accountability, and decent customer service. As longtime local customers, we expected better. Pretty bad experience here . I have a gluten allergy so I know it's not easy to go to some restaurants and try to figure it out but the girls at the register were really unaccomodating and rude . There was a whole debacle about me asking for a side salad instead of fries because I wanted a side for my burger with no bun and they just wouldn't make it happen. Best things: breakfast, (ask for crispy bacon for breakfast or BLT otherwise it's underdone, which is the ONLY thing that I have had wrong on any plate of food). Such a cute beachside cafe with a large selection on their menu. I got the huevos rancheros which were really good. It's served with a tortilla bowl! The blue crush smoothie was also super flavorful and refreshing. It had blueberries and grape juice in it. Service is excellent here! I was about 30 minutes early for an appointment in Pacifica and needed to eat breakfast so I looked up the nearest breakfast restaurant The tea and other beverage was served promptly, but things went downhill from there. When the food came, the only thing that was hot was the scrambled eggs the bacon, which I asked for crispy was limp and cold along with the oatmeal. The oatmeal was actually congealed and it sat so long . I asked a gentleman if I could please have a crispy bacon and handed him my plate. I also asked for some butter for the oatmeal before realizing it was stone cold. My eggs and bacon were returned, and the plate had two pieces of crispy cold bacon, which obviously I've been sitting around back there, and now the scrambled eggs were cold the butter never arrived even though I asked three different people for butter. I ended up just leaving because the food was not edible cold. My fiancé wanted brunch with the girls for her birthday, so we walked up with a group of 10 around 11am on a Saturday. After waiting less than 10 minutes to order, the staff quickly moved some tables together to accommodate us. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and there was a notable freshness to all the crab dishes. We were so disappointed with the food at Breakers during the last visit! I ordered the corned beef hash and my parents had the eggs benedict. While I appreciated that it was real corned beef (not canned), it had no flavor. It had a ton of bell peppers and onions, and the hash browns were soft and almost uncooked. It tasted and looked like everything was steamed with no brownness to it. My parents' benedict had a slice of folded deli ham and they said the English muffin was stale and the hash browns were barely brown. Unfortunately, it was the worst benedict they've had! Today was my first time at Breakers. I have lived in the area 46 years and have never been here for breakfast. I wanted Chicken Fried Steak and looked on Yelp and it showed they had it, despite it not being on the menu, apparently it's only served on the weekends so I was in luck. The location is right near the water so that is nice. When you walk in you aren't greeted you must order and pay BEFORE you find your own seat. I assume this makes their service faster but lacks that sit down and be waited on vibe. I ordered my dish with coffee, with 20% tip it came to $38! I sat inside in the booth closest to the water looking out. The windows were dirty due to the saltwater they get constantly bombarded with. Service was fast, I received my food in less than 3 minutes, but they had only been open an hour and weren't busy at all. Food was good, I'm not used to mushrooms being in a sausage gravy but it was good. Hash browns were good and my over easy eggs were cooked perfectly. My only issue is that because you pay first, no one came to ask if I wanted a refill on coffee, which I did, so I assume you have to flag someone down to get one if they even give refills on coffee. All in all the food was a solid 8/10 and service was a 4/10 because of the way they are set up. Not to say the staff wasn't friendly but in this setting I would've preferred a more traditional model of service. I didn't know I didn't get toast with my meal so I would've liked to have ordered it when my food came. I didn't feel like getting back up to go to the register to order it. The overall experience would rate it a 5/10. I might come back but I'm not sure I'll be compelled to. read more

Food: The price of food is high. It's 100% true that food isn't worth the price. My sandwich was cold, I think the bread should have been warmed up a bit, but I liked the tuna, the flavor was nice. Omg, bacon was so bad. I'm 100% sure it was cooked a few hours before us. It looks crunchy, but it wasn't; they were idle and rubbery. Overall, not bad. Once we arrived, we went to the counter to place our order and then was lucky enough to find a table in the quite crowded casual dining room. A couple just left their table and advised that I grab their table right away. I felt his attitude was unwarranted because I was standing near but not over the table nor was I sitting at it. That set a negative tone for my overall dining experience. Food came quickly and what should be hot, was and the salad was nice and chill. I ordered the Cobb salad with dressing on the side. The salad came as ordered. Unfortunately, the poultry in my salad had a slight sour taste - not fresh. Had I used the dressing like most folks, I probably would not have noticed. All of the other ingredients were perfect. My daughter ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich. It looked appetizing but the balance of the salty/sweet was off and it was dry. They served it with maple syrup so she tried it to see if it would help the lack of moisture. Unfortunately, that made it way too sweet since it was already dusted with powdered sugar. She didn't finish it and didn't want to take it with her. Hubby ordered the Chicken fried steak and son ordered the Frittata. Both of their dishes were well cooked and tasted very good. Everyone's hash browns were super crispy, well seasoned and the best item on their plates. Have been here before and all was better. They must have just had a bad day. I love this laid back breakfast spot. It's not too far of a drive down the 1, it's close to Mori Point. Parking can be a pain since it's a small lot nearby with Nicks and Moonraker, but generally not an issue if you're heading out there in the morning on a weekend. They have a few tables set up outside and bunch of seating available indoor. Just that there are quite a few birds outside though....... You browse the menu, order up front, then sit wherever with the number. The wait isn't too long, maybe because I go in the early morns on weekends. Portions are sizable, I would say their savory crepes are amazing. Somehow I ended up picking their lox frittata most of the time due to my forever craving for eggs and cheese. It's one of the items where it shuts me up during the meal because I'm too busy stuffing my face. I've been telling myself to try one of their crab items but haven't got around to it.
