Treated my class & their parents to a post-Christmas brunch/lunch. The waitstaff was friendly and patient when my larger party came to the counter to order; another plus is we were also seated together in the same area. The food: delicious, generous portions. Ordered their stack of three macadamia nut, banana, and coconut pancakes to share, and it did not disappoint (def recommend). In a nutshell: - We were impressed to hear that the host has been there for 18 years (that's what he told us). - Service was very friendly. The waiter was a chubby latino who was very friendly. - The omelette with mushrooms was perfection. - The crepes with yogurt and fruits wasn't that great, although it did seem to be low in calories. - The pancakes were good, nothing to go crazy about but definitely a good dish. - The place is small and has a nice view. I Wasn't Drunk, but I Stumbled Across This Place! Less than a half hour from Downtown San Francisco by highway! I almost hate to advertise it, because I don't want too many people to show up. Great atmosphere, service, and food. Spotless restrooms. Great value. Large portions, but you can walk some of the calories off by going out the front door and heading about 500 feet to the ocean. Came on a Sunday morning so I expected there to be the usual brunch rush, I think we waited 1 hour total to be seated and put in our food order. Food seemed to take a really long time to come out as well as no one in the room seemed to be getting anything. I was hoping that maybe this was a sign that the food was about to be bomb af but I was pretty disappointed. My monte cristo sandwich was incredibly bland and the french fries tasted hours old. And this was at ~10am, how is that even possible? Were they saved from yesterday and reheated in the microwave? I was hoping the banana macadamia pancake we ordered (2 for $9) would save the meal but it was really mushy and again, flavorless. The steak my boyfriend ordered was extremely chewy, a sign of a cheap cut of meat. Hash browns were crap as well, they still had a lot of water in them meaning that the kitchen probably didn't dry them well enough before frying it. Such a cute little breakfast spot right next to the beach in Pacifica. My boyfriend and I came here twice for breakfast over the weekend. Their menu is huge and there is so much to choose from. I had a hard time deciding what to order. Finally I decided to get the chicken apple sausage with eggs, hash browns and toast on one day. The next day, I ordered the grilled chicken crepe that also came with hash browns and a side salad. My boyfriend ordered the country fried steak with eggs both days we ate there. I literally loved everything I tried. The hash browns were nice and crispy and the chicken apple sausage really tasty as well. The grilled crepe was really hearty and filling. My boyfriend loved his fried steak and eggs. So fattening, yet so yummy! Also no need to worry about always asking for refills on coffee and water. Breakers provides a pitcher of water and a pot of coffee when you first sit down. The service is really quick and efficient. We ended up with the same server both days and he remembered us. He was really quick with our orders and the food came out fast! There is always a wait to get a table here. At around 10am on a Saturday, there were several people in front of us and I believe we waited around 30 minutes. They offer complimentary coffee while you wait. The location was right by the beach which I found pretty awesome. Variety of foods to choose from. Our order as follows: Huevos Rancheros- whole weight tortilla filled with housemade chirizo, avocado, black beans, black olives, onions, tomatoes, cheddar, mozzarella, jalapenos,green chilies, salsa, sour cream, chives & 2 eggs with a side of hash brown ($13.69). The Sailor - Baco, spinach, mushrooms, Jack cheese, sour cream & chives ($11.15). The portions are huge, very delicious and fresh. For a first timer I must say it definitely exceeded my expectations. The location, just off Rocaway beach is great, and so is the food and the service. There's a lot to choose from (for a breakfast place), and portions are hearty. I feel pleasantly happy that my friend and I discovered this popular beachside family owned joint that serves my favorite meal of the day, the breakfast! I like everything about this place. The beach view is spectacular! It's quite busy for a Thursday morning but we got our seats immediately. The menu is extensive. You can easily get lost looking for your choice! The staff are friendly and helpful. I ordered a cheesy omelette and a fruit plate. My friend ordered a strawberry Belgium waffle with two sides of avocado and two sunny side up eggs. The portions are huge, delicious, and fresh. I am impressed that my egg was hot. I hate eating a cold cheesy omelette! Haha. The coffee is very yummy and super hot, just as we like it. I feel like our coffee was brewed freshly for us. The ambiance is special and awesome as everyone was happy with their choice of food plates. Lots of sun coming through the restaurant windows and skylights brings out warm, positive vibes, and a cheerful atmosphere. Breakers definitely exceeded my expectations. Here you can brunch outside in the Breakers parklet only a stone's throw from a stroll along the Rockaway Beach promenade with easy beach access. In high surf you can enjoy watching crashing waves. I had the crab Louie Benedict with spinach and so-so hash browns, all of which was surprisingly bland, none of the sweetness characteristics of local Dungeness. Maybe canned? The baby spinach was fresh, but uncooked and unseasoned, which added nothing in texture or flavor to the dish. Fresh arugula would have been a better choice. The hollandaise was beautifully creamy, but again, lacked that touch of acidity that makes you want to keep eating. The popular crabcake Benedict looked more interesting with tomatoes and capers to pep it up. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. The omelets and sandwiches looked good, and like all of Breakers orders, came in to-go containers ready for a seaside picnic. read more

Yelp came through again for me and my family! Was planning a day in SF for my daughter's birthday and was looking for a place for breakfast/brunch. Breakers was one of the options. Although it's extra miles from us (coming from Vallejo) we like to try out new places. There were a lot of customers (a good sign that they must be good). We were blown away with the vast menu selection & humongous portions. The food was absolutely delicious! California Trip #9 I had bookmarked Breakers Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch (BBBL) even before I knew it was located right next to my hotel. For my last full day in California, I walked over for some brekkie. The interior is small, and nothing special, but a table with an ocean view received a gold star from me. I ordered some water and coffee to start. I was given a pitcher of ice water and a carafe of coffee. Usually, I would have been ecstatic, as I and my boys go through a lot of water. But, since I was all alone, and knowing about the drought in California, I was a bit troubled by the wasted water--and the same for the coffee. I think the idea of a pitcher and carafe would be wonderful for a full table of customers, but not so much for one person. BBBL has a large menu, and it was difficult to choose. When I saw the hot links, I decided to try that in an omelet since I'd heard about it before, and we don't have it in Virginia. It also came with home fries and toast--of course, I had to pick sourdough! I was happy with the service, good food, and a great view. I would love to check out more items from their menu. Maybe next time... Tip: Make sure you ask for the specials. I didn't see the sign until I was leaving. They had Pumpkin Pancakes that day. Bummer. :( read more

Wow, what an unexpected find in an area I thought I had thoroughly checked out in the past. Breakers is located right next to the ocean's edge which makes for a nice after brunch stroll or before stroll if you're here on a weekend and the wait would surely be not a short one. The crab crepe was overflowing with fresh crab. It was very yummy and also a great value. Our waitress was very friendly and in general service was good considering how much of an animal house this place becomes during weekend brunch hours. Like many brunch places, there is free coffee by the front door, which is a wonderful touch. All in all, I look forward to coming back here when I'm in the area. Located across the street from Nick's bowling alley, the first thing you notice when you pull up to Breakers is the amazing view of the ocean. On a clear day it's worth a million dollars easily. When you walk in to breakers your greeted the very friendly staff. You can tell this is a place that locals come regularly because as I was sitting there enjoying my breakfast, I noticed tons of people were being called by their first name as they walked in and greeting the staff by their first name as well. That led me to believe that this place is very homey and very friendly because you have people coming in consistently. But back to the review, the food is delicious. It reminded me of being at home on a Saturday morning and having A homemade breakfast. I had the omelette with chorizo, sour cream, spinach, and sautéed onions. That was served with a side of toast. My wife ordered the crab Benedict which was just as good. They had large amounts of real crab with the house made hollandaise sauce and perfectly poached eggs on top of an English muffin. Her side was a bowl of fresh fruit which was perfectly ripped. I personally like coming to places like this because their food speaks for itself and is not overly fancy and dressed up with ingredients that I have no clue what they are. The prices are very reasonable and I know they take cash, credit and debit card. I can't wait to come back and enjoy breakers, I'm definitely going to try more of their tasty items off the menu that I wasn't able to try my first go around. read more

The only good thing about this place is you can get ocean view and the wait is short. Service is friendly. However the wait for food was probably more than 30 minutes. They should hire more cooks or cut down the number of tables they have. The food itself wasn't memorable. The hash brown was oily and too salty, the frittata was thin and not baked (looks more like an omelette), the honeydew was spoiled (seriously!). The only thing we like was the pancake, which was yummy. The wait for food is too long though so I can't recommend this place. read more

Breakers is a brand new breakfast and lunch spot that opened up in Pacifica earlier this month. It looks like they changed their hours because on the to-go menu, the hours were originally 6:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. everyday. However, their operating hours are now 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. everyday. Like a few other breakfast spots, they offer free coffee for their customers while waiting for a table. The menu here is extensive, so there's something for everyone. Service was spotty, slow, unorganized, and chaotic even though there were four servers and two bus boys for a small cafe. We ordered: Bacon Waffle ($8.95) - A perfect combo of savory and sweet with bacon bits mixed into the waffle batter. My only gripe was that it didn't come out extra crispy like I had asked for. Chicken & Waffle ($11.95) - I was expecting a whole chicken breast since the menu says, "served with crispy fried white meat chicken breast." So when I saw three tiny pieces of white meat chicken tenders atop the waffle, I was baffled. Though the chicken tender was tasty, it just looked stupidly awkward. I know it's a cafe, but they could have made a little more effort with the presentation since they charged almost $12 for this dish. Also, we asked for the waffle to be extra crispy, but that didn't happen. IMO, not worth the price. Mushroom Omelette ($8.25) - Are mushrooms expensive?? There were barely any mushrooms in the omelette. The omelette came with a side of hash browns and toast that were just okay. Our waiter actually raved about the toast being really good, but it was just average. Overall, I think this is a cool spot as prices are reasonable. The staff was really friendly, and it's a casual atmosphere. The breakfast was so good! We each ordered different versions of egg scrambles, which came with hash browns and toast. They were really flavorful and came full of vegetables, meat and cheese. Orange juice and coffee was so great too. They even place a pitcher of water in each table so you can refill as needed. Another day in the quest to find the best local Basic American breakfast. Breaker's Cafe at Rockaway beach provides a solid option even if the items are mostly prepared ahead of time. I arrived around 8:50 AM PST to find the place empty except for 3 other parties. Greeted nicely at the door and was almost lead to the back without being offered the choice of seating. Since it is a sunny day and Breaker's has some nice window space I asked for the window. U was placed I the best available spot at the time right behind another couple enjoying the view. One more my order of the day was eggs over easy, bacon softly cooked and sausage (link and patty) double meat, hash browns, white rye lightly roasted, along with hot Earl Grey tea. When the plate was delivered I found most items were prepared beforehand, except for the eggs and toast Eggs cooked perfectly. Hash Browns a little soggy from sitting in the pan for a while. Prepared ahead of time. No warning of this from the server. Bacon too crisp from being prepared ahead of time. No warning of this from the server. Sausage patty and link okay. But also No warning of preparation ahead of time from the server. I like the tomato slice with chives on the plate. For the price this side could have used another link or two. Rye toast was a marbled rye. Good and toasted just right! Something out of the ordinary for this area is what sitting on the table. Both a like, and a complaint. I definitely like that it was available and with lemon slices. But Pacifica is going though a drought like other areas in California and has similar restrictions on staging water before the customer asks for it. If Denny's can comply with the restriction then why does Breaker's flaunt supporting drought mitigation efforts? Service by Alyssa was good and timely before the bill was offered. Afterward I was not even offered hot water to refill my tea mug. Another interesting thing I noted was the bus boy tended to stand aside and let Alyssa and the other waitresses clear the tables. He looked idle much of the time. No free WiFi provided by Breakers. But there is free WiFi provided by another source that you can use while eating here. Overall the experience would please many people. But at $17.95 before tip the overall value is average. Maybe above average a bit since the view is nice on a clear day.
