I cannot say enough amazing things about Batter Up Bakery…read more I'm a wedding planner with over a decade of experience, and I have truly seen it all... but this was a first. Due to a major mistake on the venue's end, our couple's wedding cake was served to a different event the day before the wedding. Yes... the entire cake was gone. We were left without a cake for the bride and groom to cut on their wedding day, and with very little time to fix it. Enter Batter Up Bakery... and they absolutely saved the day. From the very first interaction, Samantha at the front counter was incredibly kind, responsive, and helpful. Selena, the decorator, did an unbelievable job recreating the cake exactly as originally designed. And Jim, the owner who handled delivery, was professional, communicative, and ensured everything arrived perfectly. They stepped in quickly and created a replacement cake that looked identical to what the couple originally ordered. Not only was it visually perfect, but it was also delicious. The entire process was seamless and handled with such care. The most incredible part? The bride had no idea anything had gone wrong until after the wedding. Everything felt flawless, and that is exactly what you hope for as a planner. In all my years in the industry, I have never experienced customer service like this. Batter Up turned what could have been a disaster into a perfect moment. I will be recommending them to every single one of my future couples. Truly phenomenal service, talent, and professionalism.

Stopped by after a friend's recommendation. Once you walk in, you're met with the menu (handheld…read moreand posted on the wall) and the counter to order. Further in, there's bar seating and a couple tables. Most of the tables are outside in their patio. The space has a very modern feel with a wine and draft beer list along with coffee bar options. On a Friday lunch rush (11:30am), there were quite a bit of people already sitting and eating. I ordered the hatch chile honey chicken sandwich ($16.32 after tax). Holy smokes, it was delicious! The baked pretzel bun was unlike any I've had before. Buttery and pillowy on the inside and a crisp exterior. The chicken was perfectly cooked and paired well with the chili honey, which was perfectly balanced without being too sweet or too spicy. The grilled onions added extra sweetness and richness that contrasted nicely with the fresh tomato, avocado, and lettuce. Together, it made the perfect sandwich! Definitely a spot worth checking out. The food tasted high quality, and I'll absolutely stop by again when I'm back in town.

Goat & Vine (Satellite Café) - Morning Bun Review…read more Goat & Vine continues to expand its footprint beyond its flagship The Goat and Vine location, and this newer café concept clearly aims to deliver a more elevated, bespoke pastry experience. From a presentation standpoint, it succeeds. The space is large, visually polished, and immediately inviting--everything you'd expect from a brand building on a strong local reputation. The morning bun itself is visually stunning. Well-shaped, evenly baked, and glossy with promise--it looks like a 5 before the first bite. But execution tells a different story. A proper morning bun should channel the DNA of a croissant: light, airy, delicately layered, with just enough exterior resistance to give way under minimal pressure. This one missed that mark. The outer ring was noticeably tough--requiring more force than expected, even with a knife. In truth, a well-executed morning bun should yield easily with the edge of a fork, not demand effort to cut through. Flavor delivery was equally uneven. The cinnamon--presumably a core element--was very mild, almost hesitant. A morning bun doesn't need to be a cinnamon roll, but it should introduce that warmth immediately, within the first bite. Here, it lagged. More notably, the orange essence appeared only at the very center, creating a disconnect in the experience. Flavor should be intentional and consistent. If orange is part of the profile, it should be present throughout--not hidden as a surprise note at the core. The same applies to any premium pastry: flavors should announce themselves clearly and early, drawing you into the experience, not making you search for them. To their credit, the internal structure showed glimpses of what could be--a buttery, layered crumb that hinted at proper technique. But the balance between texture and flavor never fully came together. This is a case where strong presentation and solid fundamentals elevate expectations, but the final execution doesn't quite deliver on them. Final Rating: 3.5 / 5 A beautiful pastry with promising structure, but held back by toughness and inconsistent flavor distribution. With refinement--particularly in texture and flavor clarity--this could easily become a standout offering.

My husband and I went just a few days later and it did not disappoint. My husband said it was one of the best Americanos he has ever had, which says a lot. The scones are absolutely delicious and so perfect. They are not dry like the typical scones you find at most bakeries. Every bite is soft, flavorful, and just right. And the lemon bars are still the best. Hands down our favorite. We will definitely be back again and again.

Also, not so sweet which is a plus for our family. My partner was quite happy with it. Price was $6.85, size was 12oz. - Brown Butter Toffee Latte: 5/5 Great pick-me-up for a rainy day. The drink had toffee bits which was a lovely surprise! Sweetness was pretty mellow despite the toffee bits, which I appreciated. Price was $6.85, size was 12oz. - Ham & Cheese Croissant: 5/5 this came out straight from the oven. It was soft, buttery, delicious, and the ham was tender! My toddler devoured it! Price was $9.00. - Salted Brown Butter Vanilla Scone: 3/5 a bit too sweet for my liking but when I scraped away the layer of the glaze, the scone itself was quite delicious, soft, and had a good chew to it! Price was $6.95. This was a very cute spot with ample seating. You can definitely come here and bring a book or do some work. Service was fast and the ladies helping me had cute handwritten messages on the lids of our lattes :). Overall I will give this spot a 4.5/5!
