Picked up a pumpernickel day old bread loaf early AM. Order and pay online through their website, an easy process. Pickup window is under the sign, but feels a bit informal and service felt standoffish. Had to call for service / attention by the individuals who were quite literally standing at the open pickup window. Bread was well baked and discounted a bit for the day old status, but not enough to return due to general service received. Parking lot loop in the back, but street parking is also available.

I think Breadshop has the best pastry breads! The Orange Cardamom Morning Bun was soft, chewy, and had a nicely moist texture. It was sweet without being overpowering. I also liked the sugary texture on top. I could not taste the orange or cardamom flavor at all, but It's still a great sweetbread+ cinnamon roll style pastry. The Potato Pie was focaccia instead of pie. It was fluffy with a crispy edge. I wish the potatoes on top of the bread were softer. The Taegu Spinach Manchego Croissant was the best croissant I've ever had. It was super crispy and light:) The buttery flavor was perfect (not too buttery or too plain) and it was very well seasoned with Korean flavors. I could not stop taking a bite. I would like to try different breads next time :) Orange Cardamom Morning Bun $5.75 Potato Pie $6.00 Taegu Spinach Manchego Croissant $6.75 FYI: They have a pickup spot in Kaimuki. *Most people order on online.

We stopped in to pick up a couple pastries and a couple breads. The Taegu Spinach Manchengo and Prosciutto & Cheese Croissants were both delicious. The breads were Furikake Focaccia and Olive bread were both moist and flavorful. We will definitely try other daily items.

I had planned to order online but forgot and decided to test my luck by going in person the next day right at opening and fortunately I was able to snag some pastries. Mango cheesecake brioche tart $6.75 - the bread was soft and sweet. Taegu spinach manchego croissant $6.75 - flaky with a decent amount of filling. I wish there was more Taegu but overall delicious.

Doing a comparison of favorites in the area with friends. The Breadshop is definitely one of them. After bringing two groups of friends here this week and telling them about all the goodness in this neighborhood, thought it about time we did a side by side comparison. And after trying a smattering of treasures today, including the pecan praline snail, orange cardamom morning bun, and prosciutto and gruyere croissant... agree with friends, this month the Breadshop gets top honors, this month! The one pastry that put it over the top on deliciousness was their zucchini and dill danish. Hoping that one repeats itself soon! Other favorites include the orange cardamom morning bun... pecan swirl... the chocolate croissant... and today discovered the olive slab bread. Thank you Jenny for sharing a portion of bread. Deeeelicious! Quality supporting the TWO James Beard Award nominations they have received in the last two consecutive years. Way to go Breadshop! Easy ordering online and pickup. Menu for the week breaks on Tuesday at 9am. If you are more of a spontaneous person, you can show up at their counter to see what is available and purchase on the spot. Be aware tho, many of their more popular items sell out quickly online! Either way, service matches quality of baked goods. Even when this faithful fan made a mistake on ordering dates... email correspondence was quick and very accommodating. Thank you for fixing my error! Parking on Eight Avenue, just off of the mountainside of Waialae. Validated and free for the first hour.

Haven't had a savory filling favorite since ham/cheese or gailan and garlic. Their taegu, spinach, and manchego croissant took me to a new place. Their crisp bread was also excellent - crunchy and savory with just enough salt! Order online and pick up based on their bake schedule. Cute coffee spot next door to order a coffee and enjoy together!

What's not to love about bread? Breadshop has been a spot I've been well aware of and passed countless times. Just never had the motivation to buy a loaf, but always been curious! Being back on the island, we made an impromptu stop here and oh my gosh I now understand the hype! Breadshop is a teeny tiny bakery. Everything is made from scratch and they sell it out of their shop's door. Being such a popular spot, it's encouraged to order ahead online. You can also walk up and see what's available, which is what we did. After ordering with staff, you're given your goods and can go on your way--quick and easy! I came with Li Y. and my Dad. Everyone got to pick and choose their goodies. My Dad and I got the Guava Vanilla Bean Danish and Mango Custard Danish. Oh my gosh, these danishes hit all my tastebuds. Mango and guava are my favorite fruits and I loved how fresh and present the fruits were. The Danish itself was flaky and soft and the cream on top wasn't overpowering or too rich. Everything meshed well together and I regret not ordering more! Whether you're a local or tourist and craving bread or pastries, Breadshop is the place to go! So glad I could finally visit and hope to come back again soon! The shop is tucked off Waialae Ave. with a small sign out front. There's a small parking lot behind for their shop and other businesses but now you're limited to one hour of parking so make sure to scan the QR code! Street parking is available too!

Decided to get some pastry before heading to the beach and it did not disappoint. The croissant is flaky and the cookie is soft and fresh. You can also pre order online and it will show you what they still have in store. Will come back again for more!

The city bread is yummy but I can get the same bread at Whole Foods for less. I was supporting the local person. But it is stressful to buy when they are sold out. Plus I like my bread sliced. I don't know if they slice the bread but they never offer when I pick up my loaf. The pastries maybe different since they make pasties that are different and you're not able to find. They deserve 5 stars. I am sorry I had to give them less. But I rate by the service and the cost. They don't have a number to call on yelp. I had a question but I couldn't contact them. I emailed them but I didn't get a response about my loaf I ordered.

Well here we go for some of the best Hawaiian/French croissants that I have ever eaten. Unfortunately you have to pre order to guarantee that you are able to get what you want. I highly recommend the chocolate croissants if you are a chocolate lover. They are evenly filled with chocolate. The plain croissants are equally delicious. You can scramble some eggs, cut the croissant in half and have an egg croissant sandwich. Either one is scrumptious!! Some say these are equally delicious to croissants made in France!! You have to stop by to purchase your next delicious croissant while you are in Oahu! Don't forget to pre order! The circular croissant in the picture is the chocolate and the others are plain.

I ordered online a Chocolate croissant, a Pecan Praline Snail and a baguette! The order process was easy and it was easy to pick them up! Their breads are so great

Mushroom Gruyere Toast, Chocolate croissant, and Prosciutto Gruyere croissant
    Michele T.

We were in the area and hubs wanted his pastry fix. After checking to see what was still available, he ordered the following: Chocolate croissant, Prosciutto Gruyere croissant, and Mushroom Gruyere Toast. He couldn't wait for me to take a picture as he dived right in. The items were fresh. The toast was still crisp and I liked the flavors of the mushroom and gruyere. The croissants were both buttery and flaky, although hubs said there wasn't enough chocolate in the croissant. I'd return to try their loaves.

After my first time trying their bread, I think I kept ordering bread for 3 weeks straight and I stepped on the scale and wondered why I gained 5 lbs. oh yeah I know why. Their olive bread was so addicting, it's worth gaining 5 lbs for. I think I ate the whole loaf by myself in 2 days (ideally you finish everything in 3 hours so maybe grab a friend instead of going solo.) The crust was crunchy on the outside and it's so soft inside with bits of olive lodged randomly between the fibers of dough. The dough was also salted perfectly. I said 3 hours because you don't want it to dry out. That's definitely my go-to item after trying other stuff. Their guava roll was also good. It's great for breakfast with your coffee. I also tried other pastries - hit or miss, and still I like the bread most. I ordered online for pickup. I don't think they take walk-in orders so you'll have to preorder stuff. It's a bit pricey but good bread is not easy to find. I don't eat bread all the time but when I do I prefer to have excellent bread!

How does everyone slice the loaves from Breadshop at home? I've tried hand cutting it with a sharp bread knife and I bought a bamboo bread slicer from Amazon and used it with an electric knife. Neither works great. Any other suggestions?

I purchased a country loaf today (brown sourdough) and when we cut into it at home, the middle was a little wet and doughy. Is this normal for your breads? Or is the intention that we re-heat it in the oven to finalize the cooking?

I think that it's a mistake by the Breadshop. You should bring it back to them for an exchange. When I bought bread from here, it was baked right through, so in no what should it be "wet & doughy".

Can you get fresh bread loaves sliced?

All three parts of this business deserve 5 stars, so I wanted to break it down:…read more Butcher: I've been making an effort to buy more local produce and meat, and this has been such a great spot for it. Every butcher I've interacted with has been patient and genuinely helpful, especially when explaining different cuts of beef. I'm not a fan of cleaning chicken myself, so I really appreciate that they'll remove skin and bones in-house (you still pay for it, and they'll ask if you want to keep the scraps). Another big plus is that the meat is fresh, unlike a few other places I've visited that only carry frozen options. Bakery: I can't come here without grabbing a sweet treat. They offer a mix of sweet and savory pastries, and honestly, I haven't had a bad one yet. I don't have a single favorite because they've all been consistently good. In my opinion, they're best enjoyed the same day. They also offer seasonal and holiday pre-orders. Sandwich of the Day: The premade sandwiches start at 11am and are made with about 90% house-made ingredients, served on their focaccia. As someone who loves a good sandwich, this did not disappoint. There are a few seats inside but I usually take everything to go so I can get my meat into the fridge.

It must be from their fryer or something. Nevertheless it was light, fluffy, fresh, warm to my tummy. We also got the hazelnut cake. Cake texture with coconut like flavor (I maybe wrong) with chocolate like hazelnut flavor coating. Also light and good. I saw ice cream too. Gotta try that next time. However, there are many alternative malasada purveyors throughout Honolulu, so I depended on local vloggers to find the best ones. This one popped up often on YouTube, and as luck would have it, we were dining at The Pig & The Lady on the next block. How calorifically convenient. We took the opportunity to stop by for a pre-dinner snack since they closed at 6PM. It's a cute shop with multiple sweets including quite a selection of housemade ice cream and delectable mouthfuls called Cake Bombs (Photo 10). We decided we would be good and ordered one unfilled Malasada each. Dusted with various sugar flavors, they were just $2.65 a piece. I went for the Coffee, while Jamie chose the daily special, Cinnamon (Photo 6). They were soft and tasty, quite comparable to Leonard's albeit a tad smaller. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing since we had dinner ahead of us. However, we let temptation get the best of us and shared a $5.50 slice of the Ube Haupia Mac Nut Bar, a yummy combination of sweet potato and ube topped with haupia (coconut milk pudding) on a macadamia nut crust (Photo 9). Truth be told, it stole the show from the malasadas. FOOD - 4 stars... the malasadas were good, but that ube dessert was next level AMBIANCE - 4 stars...really a takeout operation with a lot of temptations SERVICE - 4 stars...very calm and orderly TOTAL - 4 stars...yet another spot for sweet Hawaiian decadence RELATED - Exploring Hawaii?
