Best Indian food, if you want the most authentic Indian flavor come to this place. The best saag I have ever had outside India.

FLAVORFUL INDIAN DISHES & SELECTION OF NAAN. I happened to drive by this place every day and decided it was time to try it out, and I'm glad I was able to get some of their authentic Indian food! AMBIANCE: 3/5. There is only street parking available and may be quite limited. Small and very intimate interior but with plenty of indoor seating. As soon as you walk in, you'll be greeted and seated by staff. The restaurant has a small cozy, quiet, & peaceful ambiance. SERVICE: 4/5. There was only one main staff who was on the floor, and he was attentive and served us as quickly as he could. FOOD: 4/5. The dishes we got, especially the large garlic naan, were excellent. The spices were a great balance that could accommodate many. The menu could be larger with more diverse options but does describe each dish in a more reader-friendly format. The portions are slightly smaller than I was hoping, but the quality of the dishes is wonderful! OVERALL: 4/5. All-in-all good authentic Indian food with delicious garlic naan!

Delicious food with a menu that changes month to month. The Indian cuisine is so diver and rich it's great to have things other than the typical fare.

Kashmiri tikka, phirni pudding

I was recommended this by a friend and had wanted to try it for a while since I saw they have specials that change each month, both for their signature breads and for main dishes generally. I ordered a Kashmiri tikka and a phirni pudding. I am not sure what possessed me to not realize the Kashmiri tikka is a chicken-based dish (I am vegetarian) but it was still yummy and fresh, a good portion and I particularly liked the lentil side dish. The phirni pudding is a nice dessert option as well if you like rice and want something relatively small but sweet.

My friend has been telling me for 10 years to try this place and I never get over to try it as I am usually in San Francisco for business or to visit family and friends. I finally got a chance to book my hotel nearby for a conference and I jumped at the opportunity to try BOI. I am very happy that I did. It is a small and quaint restaurant. I walked in on a Sunday night and no customers were there but I was greeted by a friendly lady who directed me to sit wherever I wanted. There are large windows near the front to look out on to the street. There are about 10 tables, so it is not very large. There are some paintings on the wall, but the decor is not the strong suit of this restaurant. I heard that their menu changes often. It was larger and different than most of the Indian food places I have been to in San Diego. I decided to start with Chicken Tikka Masala and some Garlic Naan. I fully intended to try all of the other breads as I was instructed to by my friend. Unfortunately the food was too good, too filling, and the Garlic Naan was too large so my plan to try the rest of the breads went down in flames. I was so stuffed and all of that food was about $20 with tax and tip. The Garlic Naan was delicious, soft, warm, and probably the best Naan i have ever had. I could eat that every day. Nom Nom. The Chicken Tikka Masala was not the best I have ever had, but it was very good and I would order it again. It was thick, hearty, warm, and filling.

Worst Indian food ever. The lassi was sour and the butter chicken was literally 4 small pieces of chicken in a flavorless sauce. Yuck.

Hey Y'all, Went here…read morethe night going into my birthday a few days ago. I totally forgot the name of it, someone took me here, but I hunted it down just to leave a review! THIS IS A GREAT BAR. one of the best I ever been to. Their food is so good, I am still thinking about their prawn street tacos and the prawn flatbread. I wish I had some right now! I can taste it in my mouth, oh lord. They have one of the BEST BARTENDERS EVER, her name is Adela, I hope I am spelling that correctly. She was so beautiful, she had long beautiful dread locks. We talked and she was very welcoming her and Nicholas who birthday was a day before mines, he was so cool. They made sure we had everything we needed and our drinks was to our likings, she was very very informative about our drinks, what was in it, and she even had great detail to the things we wanted/looking for in our drinks. I still can not get off how good the food was. This place is a VIBE, period. Music was on POINT! and its very cute and I LOVE THE HUGE OPEN window, wish I got a pic of it. It wasn't loud, ghetto or dirty, just a nice place to vibe, have a very good drink and great food. I can not wait to come back and see you guys, EVERYONE PLEASE CHECK THEM OUT. 1000/10. LOVE YOU GUYS!

TLDR: food is EXCELLENT. the service and drinks are mid at best…read more very vibe-y, dim-lit, date night type of spot. I tried two different drinks and requested a re-do with less ginger but they both still had this spicy, ginger-y taste-- not for me, personally. and their soft drinks are very limited, only carrying Mexican coke that's $5 a bottle. after we were seated, it took about 15-20 mins before someone checked on us again. and that was kind of the theme throughout the night. but the servers were lovely! maybe someone didn't show for their shift. the food is verrrrry good though. maybe some spicier sauce options would be nice. i think the chutney is the spiciest they have. the white sauce is also very yummy too. would visit again just because the food is that good.

Once again we celebrated the day at Mount Everest Restaurant…read more With perfect cuisine we all had such a great time sampling lots of different flavors

We dined at Mount Everest Restaurant for a late lunch, and it was a pleasant experience. While I've…read moredined here before, it was my first time returning after a few years. Both my mom and I ordered lunch specials, and it seemed to be a good value. I especially enjoyed the naan and malai kofta and the salad was a nice side too. I was not a fan of the chana masala, as it seemed to lack flavor and the sauce was slightly watery. I opted for mild level of spice, since I was concerned the meal would be too spicy, but that was not the case. We also ordered some pappadum along with chicken momos to share, and it was an alright dish, although I did think the filling wasn't quite tasty. The sauce was a nice touch, and helped add a small burst of flavor and a mild kick. Customer service was great and attentive and the restaurant was nicely decorated with a cozy vibe. Overall, our meal was enjoyable and I am glad that there was an option to order lunch specials for weekend lunch. Although, I wished some items were more flavorful or spicy. I'd possibly return to try other items on the menu if I'm nearby or visiting campus. Seems like a pretty solid spot for Nepalese/Indian food!
